The Center for Teaching Excellence supports the SaintLouis University UID Community of Prac- tice, a group of faculty and academic staff interested in teaching and modeling universal instructional de- sign principles. Following a highly competitive na- tion-wide selection process, a five-member team from SLU participated with teams from 11 other in- stitutions at the federally-funded 2007 Pedagogy and Student Services for Institutional Transformation (PASS IT) Summer Institute at the University of Minnesota. In addition, the Community of Practice has been a two-time award winner of the SLU’s Re- tention Management Committee’s Mini Grant, which provided funding for the UID Coffee Breaks, i.e., UID educational sessions for SLU faculty.
The basic concepts of EVM have been used for over 35 years primarily in defense contracting industry the United States (Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics, 2005) and Australia (Department of Defence, Defence Materiel Organisation, 2005). EVM was developed by the US Department of Defense (DoD) and called Cost/Schedule Control Systems Criteria (C/SCSC), but the terminology was revised by the DoD in 1996 and accepted as an American National Standards Institute/ Electronic Industry Association (ANSI/EIA) standard #748 in 1998, titled EVMS. The ANSI/EIA standard was ultimately adopted by the DoD in 1999. As recently as July 2004, the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) signed an agreement with its counterpart in Great Britain, the Association for Project Management, to recognize the equivalence of their EVMS documents based upon the ANSI/EIA 748 standard, thus building momentum for global acceptance (NDIA, 2004). In Australia, C/SCSC had its beginnings in when the Joint Committee of Public Accounts made a number of recommendations concerning Australian Defence project management in 1986. Arising from this review, C/SCSC is now a contractual requirement for certain significant defense contracts. Today many global companies now are using EVM as a benchmark for best practices project management (Pavyer, 2002; Pracchia, 2004; Solomon, 2002).
The funding recommendation made by the LCAC was consistent with the distribution guidance. The Luther Seminary Redevelopment project being removed from consideration made available an additional $295,000. Based on the LCAC discussion and scoring, staff is recommending that this additional funding be allocated to the next highest scoring project, Rise on 7 from SaintLouis Park. Thrive Lens Analysis
The Art Institute of St. Louis prides itself on assisting students and newly‐graduated students to find appropriate jobs for all stages of the educational process. This includes assisting eligible students to pursue part‐time jobs while in school, industry part‐time jobs and internships later in the educational process, and entry‐level industry related positions upon graduation. In addition, faculty and staff offer instruction on job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing and networking. The faculty and staff of The Art Institute of St. Louis increases employer awareness of our students’ and graduates’ capabilities through membership in professional organizations, attendance at trade shows, and on‐site visits to businesses. Most importantly, the school develops and cultivates relationships with employers allowing them to stay on top of industry trends. Additionally, faculty invites employers to speak on campus, attend the quarterly Portfolio Show, hosts job fairs, and schedules on‐site interviews. Graduate Assistance
The flood map referred to here (figure 7) is a map that graphically provides information on the extension of inundation in an easy-to-understand format. The goal is to show the high level of vulnerability of many areas around the city of Saint-Louis to practitioners active in disaster risk reduction and those in charge of rivers and hydrology at local and regional level. The flood hazard map is particularly handy for planners and administrators in formulating remedial strategies. It also makes the process of resource allocation simple, resulting in a smooth and effective implementation of the adopted flood management strategy.

But now we will bring all these efforts together, give them a stronger focus, and more systematically expose our students to them. The need is urgent. We have become a nation of two Americas—one inhabited by the haves and the other by the have-nots. We must use our scholarly strengths to find ways to halt this divi sion. For, as Lincoln told us, “ a house divided against itself cannot stand.” □ We will create an Institute for En trepreneurial Studies to serve as a tool for the economic empowerment of our people. For more and more, we have come to realize that political empower ment, of itself, will not guarantee African American progress if it is not matched by economic empowerment.
All individuals interested in the MMI graduate program must enroll through the Core Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences, a one year program where the student receives a strong foundation in Molecular and Cellular Biology and exposure to the diverse programs of scientific investigation carried out in the SaintLouis University's Health Sciences Center. As part of the first year Core Program, students undertake 3 or 4 six week rotations in laboratories among the basic science departments of the Health Sciences Center in order to select a mentor and department for study towards a Ph.D. degree. Louis IX was a French king known for his piety and dedication to the arts. Regarded as a saint and canonized in 1297. 9 Louis led two crusades to the Levant, one in 1248 until 1254 and another in 1270 until his death not long after in Tunis. He was also responsible for the purchase and the transportation of priceless holy relics from Constantinople to Paris in the 1230's. In addition, Louis commissioned the Sainte-Chapelle, a private chapel for the royal family's use located in the palace on the Île de la Cité. A masterwork of the rayonnant style of Gothic architecture, the Sainte-Chapelle is an oversized reliquary box for the relics taken from Constantinople, such as the Crown of Thorns, a piece of the True Cross and the Image of Edessa, among others. Louis was known to be heavily involved in the details of the program of the Sainte-Chapelle. It was finished and the relics were installed in 1248 before Louis left on the Seventh Crusade. Both the Sainte-Chapelle and the SaintLouis Psalter feature artistic programs depicting Biblical warriors, which can be read as
1. Knowledge, Experience and creativity of employees. The company SAINTLOUIS T does not have a system that takes advantage of the knowledge, experience and creativity of the employees, much less with a system of recognition towards them for their motivation. The problems that arise when providing the service are resolved by the Service Manager, for this reason if this is not found generates delays. The employee is not considered in this activity and the delegation of responsibility is something that must be taken into account.
