At the beginning of the XXI century society, knowledge based society, the management of economic organizations can only be achieved through optimal IT systems. They can be seen as an extension of increasingly complex information systems and provide effective leadership only if they are integrated in the economic system of the organization. We have previously shown some of the features that recommend integrated IT systems to be controlled and used, as well as main principles for building the integratedcomputersystems, strategies that can be applied in the designing of this type of IT system. Advantages of management integrated IT systems can be best supported by examples, and therefore we intend to present a special category, but increasingly used, of integrated IT systems: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). They are “distributed IT systems based on client / server and developed for the processing of transactions and facilitating the integration of business processes with suppliers, customers and other business partners.”
A true knowledge economy is one where the entire population is knowledgeable and not exploited by anybody, and uses its knowledge to improve its wealth. It could not be market driven, but excellence -driven. Academicians point out a situation where higher education is tailor made to meet the market trends and that is in the introduction of biotechnology courses in the country. They argue that biotech students pass out without a sound understanding in life sciences.We cannot rule out the possibilities of compounding the trend among students to favors computer related courses neglecting other pure sciences, if we place too much emphasis on ICTs. ICTs for the sake of economic development cannot solve our problems including poverty. One cannot generate water or provide seeds to farmers with ICT alone.

In conclusion, I propose that the human brain consists of localized areas sub- serving specific integratedsystems and each is made up of distinct but in- tra-dependent/overlapping neural networks underpinning specific secondary functions (e.g. comparing and sorting information and manipulation of object, syntactic and phonological processing) that integrate to perform a primary func- tion (e.g. speech/language production). In essence, an integrated system in the human brain is a computational hub for specific primary tasks. This hypothesis also proposes that an integrated system do not work in isolation but connect with other integratedsystems to produce related primary function(s), (e.g. the interaction of fronto-temporal-parietal areas of the brain in language).

Abstract. This paper reports on a work in-progress scenario of a computer- integrated classroom (CiC) with a focus on document management and document sharing. Following a brief introduction on the topic of distributed (distance) and non-distributed (face-to-face) learning, the system´s functionalities and architecture are being described, as well as the file structure to be found in the document archive. The system uses a unique type of XML document that can be created and edited by the FreeStyler application. The paper then concludes with a short description about the future work on the project.

One suggestion has involved the devolution of data collection during Hajj to the pilgrims themselves. This approach offers the prospect of gathering detailed information regarding the movement of pilgrims during the Hajj at low-cost. This system is known as Hajjdoc. It utilizes the Ushahidi platform and through a bespoke mobile application with a web server set up on Ushahidi’s web-hosted CrowdMap site. The web server enables reporting of data from all Hajjdoc pilgrim application users. The reports obtained deliver data regarding a number of aspects concerning the Pilgrims’ Hajj experience and their use of the various facilities provided. Yamin  also used RFID tags for identification and sensor devices in combination with database systems, such sensor devices being used to track the movements of pilgrims during the Hajj period.
