Ascitic fluid is the direct nutritional source for tumor cells and a rapid increase in Ascitic fluid with tumor growth would be a means to meet the nutritional requirement of tumor cells. Treatment with various synthetic compounds such as at dose of 10mg/kg body weight S2, S4, S5, S10, S1 and S3 inhibited the tumor volume, viable tumor cell count and increased the life span of the tumor bearing mice. The reliable criteria for judging the value of any anticancer drug are the prolongation of the lifespan of animals. It may be concluded that various synthetic compounds such as S2, S4, S5, S10, S1 and S3 by decreasing the nutritional fluid volume and arresting the tumor growth increases the life span of DLA bearing mice. Thus various synthetic compounds such as S2, S4, S5, S10, S1 and S3 have antitumor activity against DLA bearing mice.

Increasing consumer demand for bio-based products, coupled with environmental challenges resulting from the use of petrochemical-derived feedstock and products, has led to widespread research in sourcing polymers from bio-based platform molecules. 1-3 Unsaturated polyester resins (UPEs) are one class of polymers with growing interest in their production from sustainable resources. UPEs are so desired because of their adjustable chemical and mechanical properties, dependent upon the choice of combining diacids, diols, crosslinking agent and additives used at production, as well as their corrosion resistance and low density. 4-6 As such these versatile materials are suitable for robust and speciality applications with relatively low costs when compared with other polyesters. 7 Maleic, muconic, fumaric, succinic, adipic and itaconic acids are examples of bio-based diacids (Figure 1); platform molecules from which bio-derived unsaturated co- polyesters can readily be prepared. 8-11

These agrees with the definition of the profile education: “Profile education is a mean of differentiation and individualization of education, where at the expenses of changes in the structure, content and organization of the training the following aspects are given proper weigh: students’ interests, inclinations, and capabilities; as well as conditions for education of senior students in compli- ance with their further education. Profile education is directed towards realization personal- directed educational process” (Kuznetsov, 2007). In the Conception of profile school the fol- lowing problem is set: to create conditions for differentiation of the education content of the seniors which will give broad possibilities for building individual educational programs. Accomplishing cooperative learning in the chemistry classroom goes through a couple of phases. Choose the topic and pinning down the goals. Cooperative learning can be accomplished by learning all the topics from the educational content or parts of them. “Don`t teach separate cooperative learning lessons. Integrate cooperative learning. Use structures to make cooperative learning part of every lesson.” ( Kagan & Kagan, 2009, p. 6.6). Especially suitable for its application in chemistry education in Bulgarian schools are topics which give the students the opportunity for discussing actual problems like: renewable fuel sources, food additives, preservatives, color additives, fresheners, vitamins, deodorants and the ozone layer, proteins – advantages and disadvantages, fats and rational nutrition etc. They are not included in the mandatory chemistry education but the topics are interesting and personally important for the students since they are bound up with current problems of social life. Schedule the individual work of the groups. The problems for individual work must be desirably equal for the whole group. During their planning it is necessary to keep in mind that the group can fulfill more tasks for the same time than the individual.

By a bioassay-guided fractionation procedure, NN- B-4 identified from N. nucifera ethanolic extracts significantly suppressed activated PBMC proliferation.The inhibitory action of NN-B-4 did not involve direct cytotoxicity.

EVALUATION OF THE HAEMATOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL EFFECTS OF AVERON®, A HERBAL FORMULATION, AGAINST CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE INDUCED IMMUNOMODULATED MALE RATS

A marked statistical significant decrease (p<0.001) in AST levels was also observed in all treatment groups. This is suggestive of the stabilising effect of Averon on the liver function enzymes. The AST, found in the liver, heart, skeletal muscle, kidneys, brain and red blood cells, is commonly measured as a marker for liver health. Medical research has shown that low levels of AST are normally found in the blood and when body tissue or an organ such as the heart or liver is diseased or damaged, additional AST is released into the bloodstream. The (AST/ALT) is sometimes a useful prognostic parameter especially in alcoholic liver disease 32 . The AST/ALT ratios of the groups were I (0.44), II (0.43), V (0.36) and VI (0.35). As Averon® is an alcoholic formulation of Aloe spp, it is important to put into consideration the effect of alcohol on the liver. Since the AST/ ALT ratio of the groups are <1, this ratio maybe less useful in this study in distinguishing the effect of alcoholic on the liver from other causes of hepatocellular challenges. The amount of AST in the blood is directly related to the extent of the tissue damage.
