Research networks and scientific production in Economics: The recent Spanish Experience

This paper studies Spanish scientific production in Economics from 1994 to 2004. It focuses on aspects that have received little attention in other bibliometric studies, such as the impact of research and the role of scientific collaborations in the publications produced by Spanish universities. Our results show that national research networks have played a fundamental role in the increase in Spanish scientific production in this discipline. The outcome of this research is an invitation to universities in developing countries to encourage and stimulate the practice of academic co-authorships since they increase the level, quality, impact and diffusion of scientific production.

Planetary Health: A Scientometrics Analysis of Scientific Production

Planetary Health: A Scientometrics Analysis of Scientific Production

A marked growth of usage the term PH in the scientific production was observed from 2014, with 9 registered publications (Figure 1) mostly referring to The Lancet Editorial entitled “From public to planetary health: a manifesto” [7], which clearly strives to establish a new paradigm for health stating that “We need a new vision of cooperative and democratic action at all levels of society and a new principle of planetism and wellbeing for every person on this Earth—a principle that asserts that we must conserve, sustain, and make resilient the planetary and human systems on which health depends by giving priority to the wellbeing of all.” In 2016 we observe a doubling of the number of publications (18), mostly dialoguing to The Lancet-Rockefeller project for a new discipline of planetary health [6]. Despite the very heterogeneous approaches and methodologies in the corpus of registries referring to PH, ranging from design, religion, international relations, to remote sensing, etc, they mostly make a complementary and coherent body of knowledge and a growing platform for a new discipline.

Analysis Of Research Culture And Scientific Production In A National University

Analysis Of Research Culture And Scientific Production In A National University

At the national level, the National Superintendence of Higher University Education - SUNEDU [2], through the licensing process has denied said prerogative to 21 universities (20 private and 1 national), the leading cause was the shortage of scientific production (Condition 4: Research lines), and lack of agreement with university academic training (Condition 1: Existence of academic objectives, degrees, degrees and curricula). The study is based on humanistic theory, where the subjects are creative, free and conscious men; able to make and build, forged based on a habit or culture - hence the relationship with production and research culture [3]. It is also based on the contribution of Piaget - psychological and learning theory - which exposes the gradual mental development, and the experience or psychological maturation of the subject for the production of topics or daily actions, managing to merge the previous knowledge with the acquired knowledge, being the result a new knowledge [4]. The social theory, whose approach is directed to what the human group does and thinks, its social structure, norms, laws, the power relations and interrelation of the subjects [5]. Therefore, this last theory goes in parallel with the theory of education, for the emphasis on human values, necessary for the development of an ideal society, which achieves a harmonious coexistence and where anarchy, dehumanization and consumerism do not prevail [6]. The research culture is a set of good practices, proposals and values that allow the resolution of research phenomena through analysis, explanation, production, and communication of the results of a study. The teams must be made up of students, teachers and researchers [7], [8], [9], especially the latter, whose main task is to teach research in situ, so that knowledge transcends, and in time they are established the bases that will be shared by the members of a specific university community [10]. It should be noted that research competencies must be indoctrinated as part of the institutional culture of each country, to strengthen knowledge and the acquisition of experiences [11], [12]. In this sense, every study must comply with an ethical guideline (rules, norms and truthfulness) [13], [14], in order not to inform or produce a document with information not under reality. Scientific production is the assessment of knowledge that is expressed in innovative ideas, plans and proposals [15], which ————————————————

Behavior of scientific production on severe acute respiratory syndrome

Behavior of scientific production on severe acute respiratory syndrome

After these analyses, it was possible to prove that the corpus of the research is consistent, since the mining of the data allowed the recovery of the documents from the main descriptors, delimiting the subject that was the focus of the research. The quantity of 1623 documents, surpassed other bibliometric studies in the health area, such as, for example, on scientific production on moral harassment/moral harassment with 53 documents recovered in the period from 2002 to 2012 [10] and another one on virtual reality in venipuncture, which analyzed the 213 documents recovered in the same database, from 1969 to 2018 [11]. This result reflects greatly the interest of the scientific community about the pandemic, as well as its emergence in the world scenario [12].

A bibliometric analysis of scientific production in the field of lingual orthodontics

A bibliometric analysis of scientific production in the field of lingual orthodontics

Regarding the evolution of scientific production, some dental specialities such as Implantology [5] or Periodon- tics [10] have undergone increasing growth in the quan- tity of published research in recent years. But the field of lingual orthodontics (with 341 original studies) has followed a different pattern, with increased production up to the year 1989 followed by a fall. More recently, be- tween 2003 and 2017, research activity has taken off again with 2013 seeing the highest number of published works ever (34 articles). This could be due to the general increased demand for orthodontic treatment by adults,

Analysis of the accounting scientific production applied to businesses and economy of scopus

Indicators are the best instruments for the quantification and measurement of scientific production [10]. These indicators are diverse and work with qualitative and quantitative data according to the diversity, plurality and complexity of each work, focusing mainly on the criteria of the authors Pérez Reyes and Martínez Rodríguez [11]. Spanish authors, González, Moya and Hernández [12] have found and focused their study on a medical-scientific terminology with a social focus and focusing on indicators such as: production, consumption, circulation, dispersion and repercussion. On the other hand, the authors Maltrás, Quintanilla and Vidal [13] divide these indicators into production, quality and collaboration, coinciding with the previous authors, who are mainly concerned with quality to value the scientific production of science.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Scientific

A Bibliometric Analysis of Scientific Production on Second-Generation Anti- Psychotic Drugs in Malaysia

The correlation of scientific production in SGAs with the per capita health expenditure of each country, shown in Figure 8, offers us a parallel view of this phenomenon; in general, there is confirmation of the notion that the higher the spending on health, the greater the research production. In this regard, it should be made clear that a country’s scientific production in a given field tends to reflect a science research and development policy begun some years prior to the period analysed, and is not the fruit of particular economic circumstances (17, 18). The establishment of NMHR for schizophrenia in 2003 by Ministry of Health Malaysia (12) and participation in REAP study since 2008 have contributed significantly in research production in the field of schizophrenia (39, 40). Malaysia is among the few countries that has registry for schizophrenia (11). The NMHR database contained clinical information of the person with schizophrenia, medical data including past and present medical illnesses, prescription data, pathway to care, etc. (12). The database has catalysed many research activities and publications.

Abstract: Tourism is one of the sectors with more dynamism in the world. For the Latin American countries it represents an opportunity of growth and economic and social development. Cuba is making its best efforts to link and base its economy to this ever-growing field. The presently article carried out a bibliometric analysis of the scientific investigations about tourism in general and on the tourist product, starting from the year 1975. That scientific production was formally and thematically characterized through several bibliometric indicative, standing out the productivity for authors, the chronological variation of the number of works published in this field, idiomatic productivity, the areas in those that they have been carried out, among other elements of interest for this study type. The objective is to verify what is being investigated, and for who, as well as the evolution of the academic expression of the countries in this area, in articles and magazines scientific, which are the main channel of diffusion of this topic at the present time, among other publications which contribute to a better knowledge of the map of the investigation. The analysis presented indications of improvements in the academic participation, what represents the importance of the topic for studies of sustainable tourism and the growth of the sector.

A Visibility Analysis of the Scientific Production of Ukrainian Economists

A Visibility Analysis of the Scientific Production of Ukrainian Economists

Despite the prestigious contributions of Ukrainian economists in the past, most particularly with Mikhaîl Tuhan-Baranovsky and even more so with Eugen Slutsky, there is no single indication of the scientific production of contemporary economists either in Ukraine or in the Diaspora. This study attempts to fill that gap by using the 1969-3/1995 EconLit data-base to establish the visibility of all identified economists with Ukrainian descendance active in academic, governmental or private areas. The members of the Editorial Board and the Advisory Board of the Ukrainian Economic Review were also examined in order to provide reference to a benchmark group. The method of analysis applied the usual norms of measurement, taking into account the co-authorship factor, to adjust for effective productivity in refereed journals.

The scientific production in trauma of an emerging country

The scientific production in trauma of an emerging country

The number of papers published in Brazilian journals by Brazilian surgeons in surgery and trauma has experienced a linear growth over the past 14 years. We were unable to identify any evidence that the end of residency in trauma surgery in Brazil negatively influenced the scientific production in this area. The main characteristics of the Brazilian surgeons that write papers in trauma can be described as someone that lives in the southeast of Brazil, most likely in the State of São Paulo and graduated from medical school more than 16 years ago. The observed growth in the number of publications parallels the eco- nomic growth of the country and the investments made by the Brazilian government in research and develop- ment over recent years. New possibilities of research in this area of knowledge can be offered, with options for expansion of partnership and international cooperation for the development of science. Our study suggests that the scientific growth in this specific area of surgery (trauma) is more likely the result of an overall growth in research and development and less due to specific growth in trauma as can be attested by the fact that the end of the residency program in trauma surgery in 2003 had no apparent effect in the number of publications in trauma.

Bibliometric survey and analysis of the scientific production on indigenous education in porto velho, rondônia

Bibliometric survey and analysis of the scientific production on indigenous education in porto velho, rondônia

The work of Sandra Maria da Silva "Project Açaí: Colonization and decolonization" was also not found in any database or citation. In the quotation from Anatiane Daiane de Oliveira, no database or citation information was also found in articles, but as a reference for information about the Puruborá people on the virtual site "socioambiental.org", an important tool for searching and crowding indigenous peoples in Brazil. In a final analysis of the data, we conclude that the dissertations are not in databases other than the graduate programs in which they were produced and that they were cited only in 01 book article, 01 article in scientific journal, 01 dissertation and 01 site reference to information on indigenous peoples. This information about production reflects directly on some issues: (1) first that the subject has been little mentioned, when we look for indigenous education in Rondônia in academic google we have jobs with a maximum of 03 citations, (2) the most used references on education indigenous people are concentrated in books produced outside the northern region, Bartolomeu Meliá's book "Indigenous Education and Literacy" is the most cited with this research (cited in 273 papers) and (3) that the dissertations produced in the interior of the Federal University of Rondônia have little academic impact on the macro vision of what would be "indigenous education" and "indigenous education in Rondônia", a reflection of the distancing of the northern region from producing knowledge about itself for the other regions (geographic or epistemological) of knowledge production, which reflects the geopolitical distribution of knowledge pointed out by Aníbal Quijano (2005).

Methods of evaluation of posture in elderly: A bibliometric study of the scientific production of the bvs database

Methods of evaluation of posture in elderly: A bibliometric study of the scientific production of the bvs database

In order to carry out the present study, the application of bibliometrics was adopted, which aims to map and present quantitative and statistical data of existing documentation according to the selected key words. This method is widely used to explain the panorama of a given field of knowledge, discipline or theme and, thus, allows the analysis of the characteristics of the object of study (Ribeiro, Costa e Ferreira, 2015). The present research examined only published articles referring to the terms spine, curvatures and elderly in the Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde (BVS) database, which was chosen for providing free access to technical and scientific productions in the health area. For this study to be carried out, the cited descriptors were inserted into the advanced search field of the BVS database on August 1, 2018. The search carried out with the mentioned terms generated a total of 286 articles published. During this period, these articles were read and categorized. To classify them, the following categories were adopted: image exams, motion analysis systems, flexicurve and photogrammetry associated with softwares. Subsequently, the articles were categorized in relation to the most frequently used image exams to evaluate posture in elderly. They are: x-ray and dual-emission x-ray absorptiometry.

International accounting : an analysis of production in key scientific international journal of area - 2000 to 2009

International accounting : an analysis of production in key scientific international journal of area - 2000 to 2009

Given the rise in the amount of international accounting research, the causes of international differences in financial reporting, their level of influence, the classification and measurement of convergence, and consider- ing the role of the convergence of accounting standards itself, this study identified the main topics focused on scientific production related to financial reporting in major international journals between 2000 and 2009. The survey used the qualitative method and has an exploratory and documentary nature. In order to do this survey, we used the following databases CAPES.periódicos, Factiva.com and JSTOR. The analysis is based on a total of 75 scientific papers, grouped into different themes: measurement of convergence; international differences and financial reporting implications; classification; impacts of the adoption of IAS / IFRS; coun- try studies; the process of adopting IFRS and the current situation; and international accounting research. The main theme identified was “international differences and financial reporting implications”, 42.67% of the total articles. The “measurement of convergence” (13.33%) and the “impacts of the adoption of IAS / IFRS” (13.33%) also stood out, whereas the other themes did not vary significantly. The increase of the theme “country studies” in recent years may be related to the recent interest of the academic community in evaluat- ing the effectiveness of the convergence process. The highest concentration of articles in the years 2006 and 2007 may be related to the rise of databases resulting from the mandatory adoption of IFRS by the European Union in 2005. It is shown that there may be gaps in the literature and research opportunities.

Engineering which concentrated on two aspects - utilisation of wastes and the growing of special crops as energy sources. The former involved "on-site" anaerobic fermentation of wastes to methane and a pilot plant for this purpose was built at Berrima. Emphasis was placed on getting food (in the form of algae) as well as energy from the waste. The emphasis on their crop research has been on ethanol production from starch and sugar-based crops, in particular, cassava (a tubular starch crop similar to tapioca) has become the focus of research as it grows on arid soils, requires little water or nutrients and is very resistant to diseases and hence does not require the displacement of existing or potential crops from fertile land. In Biological Sciences the use of low-grade forest as an energy crop became the focus of a small project on nutrient sampling and the constant nutrient usage that would be
