As we mentioned before, when reviewing the security practice of an agency you always find some kind of security guidelines or plans or measures or patterns of behaviour in progress. There are many forces at stake, from stereotypes about security practice to a reluctance to increase the existing workload by incorporating new security activities. Security practice is typically fragmented, evolutionary and largely intuitive. In terms of securitymanagement it is necessary to proceed step by step, making incremental changes to improve performance. Securitystrategies and procedures tend to emerge from “strategic subsystems”, each of which covers a specific area of work (logistics, a field team specially concerned with its security, a headquarters manager under pressure by donor´s concerns for security, etc.). Incrementalism 4 in securitymanagement opens the door to informal processes and allows space for nucleus of change agents at work. Precipitating events (such as security incidents) prompt urgent, interim decisions that shape the security practice and that, if properly managed, becomes part of a widely shared consensus for action among members of the field and management teams.
An approach called MDA (Model Driven Architecture) is applied by Calos Blanco, et al.  to develop secure data warehouse and protect the organization’s sensitive data or information from unauthorized users. MDA  is the Object Management Group (OMG) standard approach, which provides a model driven software development based on separation of the specification of the system functionality and its implementation. This approach allows us to define models at different abstraction level: Computer Independent Model (CIM) at Business level and Platform Independent model at conceptual level and Platform Specific model (PSM) at logical level and Code at Physical level.
Best in Class companies (Figure 8) concentrated mostly on training staff in regulatory requirements, policies, and best practices to overcome these challenges (78%). This was followed closely by selecting a solution that integrates well with current IT management systems (56%), and improving / creating operational procedures and best practices (44%). Best in Class companies also reported success in selecting systems that allow cen- tralized policy definition and enforcement (33%) and improving integration of currently deployed endpoint security systems (33%) to improve endpoint security and drive adop- tion of endpoint data protection solutions. Laggards overcame their challenges by im- proving and/or creating operational procedures and best practices (55%), selecting sys- tems that allow centralized policy definition and enforcement (41%), and training staff in regulatory requirements, policies, and best practices (27%) to drive adoption.
Policy coordination and coherence issues are even more complex when we turn to the broader EU presence in the Horn of Africa, which in financial terms is far larger than the CSDP programmes. 16 On the aid front, the Commission floated in 2012 a new ‘Action Plan for the Horn of Africa’, dubbed ‘Supporting Horn of Africa Resilience’ (SHARE). SHARE envisaged that the Strategic Framework’s would shape policy coordination between the other key European actors, including the EU’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) as well as DEVCO, and link thereby short- term humanitarian aid with longer-term development agencies. Highlighting the EU’s operational organisational complexity further, this in turn built upon the ‘Instrument for Stability’, a coordination and finance structure dating from 2007, which aimed to harmonise the Commission’s work on conflict prevention, crisis management and peace-building more broadly and coincided with the launching of the ‘EU-Africa Strategy’.
Abstract—This paper investigates the resource allocation prob- lem for a type of workflows in pervasive computing. These workflows are abstracted from the enterprise-level applications in the business or commerce area. The activities in these workflows require not only computing resources, but also human resources. Human involvement introduces additional security concerns. When we plan/allocate resource capacities, we often assume that when a task is allocated to a resource, the resource will accept the task and start the execution once the processor becomes available. However, the security policies impose further constraints on task executions, and therefore may affect both application- and system-oriented performance. Authorization is a important aspect in security. This paper investigates the issue of allocating resources for running workflows under the role-based authorization control, which is one of the most popular authorization mechanisms. By taking into account the authorization constraints, the resource allocation strategies are developed in this paper for both human resources and computing resources. In the allocation strategy for human resources, the optimization equation is constructed subject to the constraint of the budget available to hire human resources. Then the optimization equation is solved to obtain the number of human resources allocated to each authorization role. The allocation strategy for computing resources calculates not only the number of computing resources, but also the proportion of processing capacity in each resource allocated to serve the tasks assuming each role. The simulation experiments have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the developed allocation strategies. The experimental results show that the allocation strategy developed in this paper outperforms the traditional allocation strategies, which do not consider authorization constraints, in terms of both average response time and resource utilization.

These hedging practices of nonindustrial private forest owners when standing stock has private value rise many questions. First, how does hedging strategies affect the allocation of forests into harvesting and amenity service purposes? Second, are these differences in har- vesting behaviour depending on the hedging strategies selected by the forest owner? Third, what are the qualitative properties of timber supply and hedging strategies when amenity services have private value? The aim of this paper is to investigate decision making for nonindustrial private forest owners in terms of coverage against natural hazards, and thus to provide a comparative analysis of the alternative advantages produced by two different hedging strategies: savings versus sylvicultural practices. This paper explores harvesting and coverage behaviour of nonindustrial private forest owners when they value amenity ser- vices of forests and when there is uncertainty about biological timber. Despite the absence of data about the behaviour of hedging strategies, we adopt a normative approach designed to provide a basic dynamic framework.
The paper deals with the tactics and strategies applied by global shipping companies. During current depression in the dry cargo sector, shipowners adopted two tactics: 1) to “ survive ” and 2) “ look after opportunities ”. In addition, selective trust delegation can be used to prevent exposing project keys to individual developers. It also provides a natural mechanism for key revocation. Having customized repository views means that each user “sees” a different repository, which is actually an amal- gamation of their trusted packages on all repositories they are using. Customized repository views prevent malicious repositories or user-uploaded packages from compromising the security of users. If the repository is treated as an untrusted entity, then even a root and private key compromise of a package repository does not compromise the security of users.

Abstract: Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory condition with an unexplained predilection for the lung: over 90% of patients have radiographic or physiological abnormalities. Respiratory physicians therefore often manage patients, but any organ may be involved, with noncaseating granulomas the characteristic feature. Sarcoidosis is the commonest interstitial lung disease (ILD), differing from most other ILDs in that many patients remain asymptomatic or improve spontaneously. Careful baseline assessment of disease distribution and severity is thus central to initial management. Subsequently, the unpredictable clinical course necessitates regular monitoring. Sarcoidosis occurs worldwide, with a high prevalence in Afro-Caribbeans and those of Swedish or Danish origin. African Americans also tend to have severe disease. Oral corticosteroids have been used since the 1950s, with evidence of short to medium response; more recent studies have examined the role of inhaled steroids. Long-term benefits of steroids remain uncertain. International guidelines published in 1999 represent a consensus view endorsed by North American and European respiratory societies. Updated British guidelines on interstitial lung disease, including sarcoidosis, were published in 2008. This review describes current managementstrategies for pulmonary disease, including oral and inhaled steroids, commonly used alternative immunosuppressant agents, and lung transplantation. Tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors are briefly discussed.
Authentication is any protocol or process that permits one entity to establish the identity of another entity (Jadhao & Dole, 2013; Jyoti & Kumar, 2014). Passwords play a large part of the user’s authentication experience. Nowadays, each and everyone use many websites and online applications requiring us to create accounts and think up passwords in a hurry. They are the near universal means for gaining access to accounts of all kinds. Email, banks, portals, dating and social networking sites all require passwords (Florencio & Herley, 2007). There are multiple studies on password usage, including people’s selection of passwords (Gehringer, 2000), strength and memorability of user chosen passwords (Yan et al, 2004; Kuo et al, 2004) (Florencio et al, 2007), and the number of passwords and accounts users have (Gaw & Felten, 2006; Florencio & Herley, 2007). There are also alternative authentication methods like hardware authentication, but they require an issuing authority and can be implemented in environments that justify the costs of installation and maintenance. Shay et al. say text based passwords are the most preferred method because they do not require extra hardware, the user can type easily and the system developers can implement as well (Shay et al, 2010). Passwords are the most comfortable authentication method because you need just a few seconds to put a password in an online application or service, but are the least secure authentication method. In 2013, Deloitte declared that more than 90% of passwords are possible to be prone of cracking 1 . Global Security Report from TrustWave 2017, states that one of the top factors on data compromise for 2016 are weak passwords (4.7%) 2

A robust fiber network with multiple lines con- nects the remote security center and the Internet. Multiple lines between facilities, as well as mirror technology for the alarms and monitoring systems, ensure reliability. RSM provid- ers also conduct regular testing of the connections between the system at the facility and the central monitoring station. Some take this a step further and have fully redundant moni- toring stations. If the RSM provider’s primary monitoring loca- tion is impacted by a severe threat, such as a natural disaster, they have a completely redundant monitoring station located elsewhere in the country. This ensures their customers always receive service.

This phenomenon is explored in “Paradox in Project-based Enterprise: The Case of Film Making” written by RJ DeFillippi: “The pressure of everyday filmmaking meant that both technical and collaborative attributes were valued. ... They are mostly controlled by one or more hackers and are used for different types of attacks – starting from Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), sending of unwanted e-mail messages (SPAM) up to spreading of malwares. Unlike other types of attacks, attacks performed by Botnets which consist of large number of computers, that can collect required amount of computer resources and exploit them for performing of various types of attacks. That’s why attackers are especially interested in their usage in order to gain maximum amount of benefits. In same time, harm caused by usage of such networks is distinctively bigger than the one caused by traditional, distinct attacks. Whole Internet community, legislative organizations and institutions, specific Internet users and big IT firms have been considering possibilities to encounter this problem which is one the most serious security threats conducted against the Internet community today. The available literature contains only a few information about defense against Botnets and the information deals with specific aspects of defense.
In order to see if these strategies appear in a wider population, a K-means cluster analysis was performed to see if particular combinations of these attributes tended to group together. This analysis was performed using the data from the 72 survey participants who also completed the file system snapshot, and resulted in three distinct clusters. Analysis of variance indicated that several metrics were not contributing to discrimination between any clusters. These included the question on when folders are created, retrieval strategy for old files, use of tree and the breadth of the structure. These were removed one at a time and the cluster analysis repeated until all remaining variables differed significantly across the clusters. Table 2 below shows the resulting variables and the typical values for each cluster.
Texas Hunger Initiative is attempting to address the problems above to move Texas toward food security. It is important to note that this project is housed within a major university, not within a state agency or service provider. It is also not a natural convener of all of the sectors at play. For these reasons, Texas Hunger Initiative focuses on what it can do: researching and developing new methods of addressing a problem that has plagued Texas and the United States for too long. It is also important to note that Texas Hunger Initiative is a project in process, one that is still learning, strategizing, partnering, and developing. Texas Hunger Initiative has played the role of convener in Texas thanks to the willingness of federal and state agencies, the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, and the faith community. Though these entities have been willing to experiment with Texas Hunger Initiative to see if coordinated services can mean increased food security, particularly among children, the results are not yet conclusive. Basic examples of the work Texas Hunger Initiative has done are presented here, but more evidence will be gathered as Texas Hunger Initiative establishes its model across the state.
