Abstract. As of recently, mobile technology has been widely used by many students across the educational world to access various types of resources where they can regularly practice the skills of English language acquisition, i.e., speaking, reading, listening, and writing. This has been achieved by using many communication tools, such as internet browsing, social networks interaction and smartphones applications. With such innovations, communication among students has become more convenient. WhatsApp smartphones application, as one of these innovative tools, has made interaction and communication among people within societies, in general, and among students and teachers, in particular, more easy, open, informal, and accessible. This paper aims to investigate the teachers’ levels of actual use of the WhatsApp smartphone application with their own students who are studying in the English foundation and credit programs at SultanQaboosUniversity. In this study, the survey research method was employed for data collection. The Level of Use Self-Assessment (LoU- SA) questionnaire was used to obtain a holistic picture of the teachers’ levels of actual use of the WhatsApp application. This study found that the majority of teachers were in the middle area and almost equally distributed at the Use Level representing the Mechanical use level (III), and the Routine Level (IVA). However, there were a big number of teachers who were at the Non-use Level (0), and none of the teachers were at the Integration Level (V), and the Renewal Level (VI) of the Use Level.
The aim of this study was to explore the impact of managerial innovation and technological innovation on organizational effectiveness in SultanQaboosUniversity. The researcher used descriptive quantitative and analytical methods based on secondary sources published in scientific peer reviewed journals, theses, Arabic and Foreign books and websites to prepare the theoretical framework. The researcher also used primary sources of information shown by the questionnaire, which was distributed to the entire population of the study, consists of 680 Managerial staff at SultanQaboosUniversity. However, after excluding 5 questionnaires as they were not completed fully by the respondents; the number of returned and completed questionnaires, and thus valid for statistical analysis was 241.
When considering student university readiness, Kuh (2007) examined the extent to which high school students are ready for university level of work. Kuh found that although majority of students are highly motivated for going to university, they are not academically prepared for university level of work. In supporting this conclusion, Yamamura, Martinez, and Saenz (2010) asserted that teachers, counsellors, parents, and superintendents play a key role in preparing high school students for university. Likewise, Lee (2011) and Maruyama (2012) argued that there should be no large disparity between high school courses and university courses in the level of academic expectations. Overall, the aforementioned studies point to a conclusion that student academic success in the university tends to be associated with pre-university academic preparation and achievement as well as other personal factors. Given the cost of higher education, increasing number of general education graduates and applicants to higher education in the Sultanate of Oman, it is critical to identify students who are the most likely to academically succeed in the university. The present study aimed at identifying predictors of first-year university GPA at SultanQaboosUniversity (SQU) using academic and non-academic variables.
To seek students‟ use of mobile phones in and outside classrooms and their perceptions, a questionnaire was designed by the researcher and distributed to 75 level 6 students from different disciplines from different sections of students in the foundation program at the Language Centre of SultanQaboosUniversity. The format of the questionnaire was designed to get a wide range of information to serve the study. Part one consists of five questions asking for participants‟ demographic information. Part two consists of seven open ended questions with multiple choice response options, some of them asked questions about the participants‟ practices and perceptions on how they use mobile phones in their learning inside and outside the classroom. Hard copies of the questionnaires were distributed to three sections of undergraduate students, and one electronic version was sent by email to one section of students but the researcher got only 6 responses.
Motivation, then, is a pillar in the establishment and further improvement of quality in higher education. In Malaysia, university plays a very significant and supportive role in the development of the country. Strong university administrators have enabled to propel the country to increase the development level and earned the admiration of countries around the world. The university is a large component of the national education transformation. The effectiveness of university in Malaysia is determined by the capacity, motivation, and integrity of the civil service and the quality of its leadership (National Economic Advisory Council, 2010). It shows that the government is concerned with the motivation and performance quality of its employee especially from the public sector and the higher education institution as part of the government body. In order to achieve greater success, there must be a transformation in the way things are done and the need to refocus on key strategic area (Yusof, 2007).

These results show us that we can also produce a high-precision model in both softwares.
Background: The Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) was planned and designed to quantify the educational environment precisely for medical schools and health-related professional schools. DREEM is now considered a valid and reliable tool, which is globally accepted for measuring the medical educational environment. The educational environment encountered by students has an impact on satisfaction with the course of study, perceived sense of well-being, aspirations, and academic achievement. In addition to being measurable, the educational environment can also be changed, thus enhancing the quality of medical education and the environment, and the medical education process. The objective of this study was to assess the educational environment of the Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) undergradu- ate medical program from the students’ perspective. The study expected to explore UniSZA medical students’ overall perceptions, perceptions of learning, teachers, atmosphere, academic self-perception, and social self-perception using the DREEM questionnaire.

Increasing demand on current available water resources, urbanization and different economic activities put increasing pressure on existing water quality derived from these resources. An emerging need exists for protecting water resources in Palestine. In addition to the need for a strategy for solving such a problem, there is a need to show economic feasibility of implementing protection zones. In this paper, a methodology is introduced with real case study of how economic feasibility of water protection zones can be assessed concentrating on arid areas in Palestine. Ein Sultan spring is assessed using the introduced methodology; it has multiple users from different sectors (i.e., domestic, agriculture, commercial and public use) and multi-year cost benefit analysis technique used to show feasibility of water protection zones on long run. The study shows that even in arid areas in Palestine - where small quantities are derived from springs- implementation of water protection zones is still feasible, the results of this study emphasize on importance and feasibility of water resources protection zones

teaching English to cadets attending the Prince Sultan Air Base English Language School (ELS) developed at the Technical Studies Institute (TSI), Dhahran city, Saudi Arabia, by the department for curriculum development. It is argued that this book is not appropriate to meet the needs of those students. As an officer and from my experience working as a teacher I have noticed that the current course book has this particular problem although it has many advantages. I have also found that the English language of the students is weak and needs would be better served by replacing the textbook currently in use with the world renowned Cutting Edge textbooks developed by Pearson Education. By using the new course book, the level of students has been improving and dents are now able to use the language in an adequate way. However, the course book which students are currently using is a general English course book and the learners have very specific needs. Each individual gained a degree at the
