In this paper, we provide information on development history, aims and development technologies as a refer- ence for researchers interested in HSR. The remainder of this paper is structured as follows. In "Related work" sec- tion, we discusses related work. In "Concept and design" section, we mainly explain the hardware of HSR, includ- ing development history. It broadly shows that the hard- ware of HSR is able to operate on quite a broad range of tasks despite the simplicity of its design. One of the goals of HSR is to realize autonomous operation of those tasks. In "Software architecture" section, we show the archi- tecture of software and describe the newly developed whole-body control and operational plan to utilize of the structure of HSR in detail. In "Results and discussion" section, we show the verification of the autonomous task capability and the basic functions as the research plat- form. In addition we briefly describe the utilization of the HSR in RoboCup 2017 in Nagoya and RoboCup 2018 in Montreal, and we examine the effect of HSR adoption as a platform. Finally, we present the conclusions of this paper in "Conclusion" section.

Hence all that is required is some LEDs and a controller that code data into those LEDs. All one has to do is to vary the rate at which the LED’s flicker depending upon the data we want to encode. Further enhancement can be made in this method, like using an array of LEDs for parallel data transmission, or using mixtures of red, green and blue LEDs to alter the light’s frequency with each frequency encoding a different data channel. Now bolt the unit in place using four 1-inch 1/8- inch-diameter bolt, nut, and lockwasher sets. Replace the container on the base and reconnect the tube from the pump to the container. Once the drink dispenser is in place, a sec- ond length of tubing must be run from the output spout of the pump into the robot’s left arm and out of a predrilled hole at the bottom of the arm. The tubing should be approxi- mately 20 inches in length. Also smear some silicone glue where the tubing connects to the pump. Figure 5-13 shows how to run the tubing through the arm and how to form the spout at the robot’s wrist where people fill their cups. The last step in installing the drink dispenser is to wire the pump, control switch, and power together. Figure 5-14 shows how to wire the dispenser in place. Note the use of a 20-amp fuse; this fuse is short circuit protection for the pump, and the wire leading to its holder must be soldered in place. The control button mounted on the robot’s wrist will also have to be soldered with two wires running the length of the arm, one that runs down the framework to the barrier strips on the remote control board.

Abstract—In Wi-Fi networks, Device-to-Device (D2D) communications aim to improve the efficiency of the network by supporting direct communication between users in close proximity. However, in a congested Wi-Fi network, establishing D2D connections through a locally managed self-organising approach will intensify the congestion and reduce the scalability of the solution. Therefore, a centralised management approach must be involved in orchestrating those actions to guarantee the sufficiency of D2D communications. In this paper, we propose a novel management framework for D2D communications in dense Wi-Fi networks. The proposed framework employs a Software- Defined Networking (SDN) based centralised controller in synergy with a novel Access Point (AP) channel assignment process. This framework is designed to proactively establish and manage D2D connections in Wi-Fi networks considering the available radio resources and the effect of the subsequent interference. Thus, improving the overall performance of the network and providing users with higher data rate. Through simulation, we validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework and demonstrate how D2D deployment considerably improves the Wi-Fi network efficiency especially when the data rate requirements are high. Furthermore, we show that our proposed framework achieves better performance than the widely deployed Least Congested Channel selection strategy (LCC).
