This research work is implemented in ZigBee using IEEE 802.15.4 protocol stack, it is most widely used technique in wireless sensor network for low rate wireless personal area network. In this paper three topologies are used i.e. mesh, tree and hybrid topology. The hybrid topology is implemented by using the combination of mesh and tree topology. The data-based setup is done by changing mobile percentage of nodes. The performance of these topologies is measured using parameters throughput, MAC delay, DTR and DTS. The results quantify that hybrid topology is best among other two topologies as it provides high throughput ,high DTR and DTS. The simulation is done by OPNET modeler 14.5.

Abstract –Wireless sensor networks are network systems consisting of hundreds, even thousands of sensor nodes connected to each other through a wireless environment. Sensor nodes have complex functions, such as the detection, collection, calculation and routing of surrounding data with predefined criteria by placing them randomly or according to a certain strategy into diverse areas. In this study, the IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee wireless communication standard was used, which is more advantageous than other wireless communication standards with respect to parameters like battery usage and low power consumption, providing high performance with short- range sensors as well as making it possible to use 3 different band frequencies in the world. Additionally, the RIVERBED (OPNET) Academic Edition 17.5 simulator, capable of generating correct results and analysis to identify the actual behavior of the real system, was used. With this simulator program, the performances of star, tree, and mesh topologies supported by the ZigBee standard were compared based on end- to-end delay, throughput, mac load and traffic received parameters. Then, the performance analyses were conducted on different PANs (Personal Area Network) using single and dual ZigBee coordinators. Finally, network fixed and mobile node behavior was compared with respect to the quality parameters of the end-to-end delay and traffic received by the destination.

OPNET has been used to design tree self-organizing multi-hop network model based on IEEE 802.15.4 protocol, and the network formation time, data frame transmission performance, throughput, failure and recovery of equipment are simulated [1]. The medium access control (MAC) layer was optimized and designed, and the performance of a sensor network was analyzed for the MAC layer of different competition mechanisms [2,3]. The ZigBee network simulation system based on OPNET adopted ZigBee models of OPNET [4,5], which had disadvantages of difficulty in modeling, overhead, network delay, poor scalability, unguaranteed network access to all nodes, authenticity of communication radius, and other issues [6]. It is difficult to be applied in practical application areas which have high performance requirements, such as high reliability and less network delay. In addition, failures and recoveries of nodes cannot be simulated according to needs of tests, when performing a large-scale sensor network test by using ZigBee models of OPNET. When interval of frame-generating is small, and length of information has large increase, some nodes will appear continuous automatic failures or abnormal simulation.

The purpose of this research is to analyze QoS performance of ATM network. Experiment method by simulating OPNET Modeler 14.5. OPNET is simulator application which to design a network model and simulate it bygenerating a graph. The network service is Voice, Video, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Email. QoS parameter is Cell Transfer Delay (CTD), Cell Delay Variation (CDV), and Cell Loss Ratio (CLR). Experiment result shows that if the number of user is higher, resulting that the value of CTD, CDV, and CLS are higher. Refers to the theory that if the number of user is higher, so many cells is generated and transmitted by the network and make the network is traffic jam and full memory buffer, consequently make the cells need more time to destination. The imbalance traffic has an effect to network performance, the value of CTD, CDV, and CLR is higher. That is due to the single server has high congestion and the client request the service in single server, and for random server, client can request the service in any server.

BP neural network is the error back propagation neural network, which consists of an input layer, one or more hidden layers and one output layer, each composed of a certain number of neurons. CMOS image sensor is not only the complete elimination of the fixed pattern noise generated by a circuit, and reduces the random noise, improves the CMOS image sensor sensitivity. ZigBee protocol defined in the IEEE 802.15.4 specification uses the physical layer (PHY) and media access layer dielectric (MAC), and defined on the basis of the network layer (NWK) and application layer (APL) architecture. According to Zakaria [11] had designed a low cost sensor for a Rice Mill Factory located in Pering, Kedah Darul Aman. The factory needs to provide a good air quality surrounding not only for its employee but also for the neighbouring villagers. A 24 hours production time also contributed to its pollution factor and the level of exposure endured by the employee during the work shift needs to be considered as well. Rice Husk/Dust Air Particle Sensor using ZigBee Wireless Sensor Network was developed using SHARP GP2Y1010AU0F optical dust sensor as the measurement tools, an Arduino Fio board was used as the development board for its expansion capabilities using ZigBee Wireless Modules. A point to point approached was developed with the data being transmitted back to its host computer, and a serial port was used to read the HEX string data. Parallax Microcontroller Acquisition to Excel (PLX DAQ) software is used to read the string data and save it to Microsoft Excel software. Using Visual Basic Application on Microsoft Excel, a graph displaying the dust measurement can be viewed on the real time basis. Conclusively, the sensor and methods used for this project was substantial enough to monitor the dust density for reducing the dust pollution in the Rice Mill Factory.
