The rim of the improvised .410 shell is a simple 15/32” (12mm) Circlip. The clip is fitted to the end of the tube as illustrated above. It may be secured using retainer or soldered in position with either conventional solder wire or solder paint. However, if solder is used the clip must be fitted BEFOR the priming assembly is installed, for obvious reasons! The clip must then be trimmed, using a file, to remove the two plier holes present on the clips open end. At this point it is also necessary to check how much trimming the clip requires to allow it to chamber in your particular shotgun. It is useful to have a standard .410 shell handy as a guide by which to compare your improvised shell.
likely produce spectacular muzzle blasts, the velocity would have to be rather low, with more bark than bite, as the bullet and top of the brass cartridge rattle down the bore. Probably a better bet would be to pull the bullet from a .50-caliber BMG cartridge, cut the cartridge shoulder off (making it a straight-walled case), and then peening a rim on the head so it would headspace in a 12-gauge chamber (and maybe even catch the extractor claw on the bolt after the shell has been fired, if you're lucky). A serious word of caution: Don't try anything with the .50-caliber BMG cartridge in a shotgun unless you're facing certain death. Even then, you should realize that using this combination will most likely destroy your firearm and injure or kill you.
A low cost, expedient synthesis of a potential pharamacophore has been demonstrated. The innovative cis-fused oxazolidinone/piperidine ring system was synthesised in four synthetic steps from commercially available O-methyl carbamate. The use of an ozonolysis/reductive amination protocol enabled the rapid generation of a desired piperidine ring. Further to this, N-functionalisation of the carbamate nitrogen was demonstrated to be a facile process, which provided a number of scaffolds for further diversification on the piperidine ring nitrogen. The synthetic route described has provided a synthetic sequence that has enabled the synthesis of a library of compounds of the general structure 4a. Importantly, a number of chemically stable library compounds, with appealing lipophilicity and molecular weight properties, were synthesised currently constitute a part of the openly accessible JECL for lead generation for both academia and industry.

The construction of a basic homemade sensor can be very cheap. In just one project of about ten weeks, with a total construction cost of 85 euros, research as well as the construction itself can be accomplished. However, before putting it to commercial use lots of projects need to be run in order to further improve the sensor by validating the components together with gaining further information about the data collected. Also the firmware needs to be updated frequently in order to assure a more reliable connection with the database. Therefore it can be concluded that a working prototype can be constructed fairly easy whereas a fully reliable and validated sensor takes a lot more time and skill to establish. Even though the absolute values of the data collected differ between the homemade sensor compared to the commercial sensor, the data shows the same trends. Meaning although the temperature/humidity measurement component (BME280) is not fully valid, it is reliable. Given the fact that the same trends are detected when analysing the data of the homemade sensor compared to the other data sources, the CO2 measurement component (MH-Z19) can be marked as reliable as well. However, further research has to be done about its validity. A real difference between the busy weeks can only be noticed when comparing the PPM data of both periods. During day time the PPM values are much higher during the last two busy weeks. However, during night time the ventilation system (barely) manages to reduce the PPM values to the same level of just above 400. Meaning if even more visitors are expected, the ventilation system needs a boost in order to keep control of the CO2 level.
ABSTRACT Shotgun metagenomics provides a powerful assumption-free approach to the recovery of pathogen genomes from contemporary and historical material. We sequenced the metagenome of a calcified nodule from the skeleton of a 14th-century middle-aged male excavated from the medieval Sardinian settlement of Geridu. We obtained 6.5-fold coverage of a Brucella melitensis genome. Sequence reads from this genome showed signatures typical of ancient or aged DNA. Despite the relatively low coverage, we were able to use information from single-nucleotide polymorphisms to place the medieval pathogen genome within a clade of B. melitensis strains that included the well-studied Ether strain and two other recent Italian isolates. We con- firmed this placement using information from deletions and IS711 insertions. We conclude that metagenomics stands ready to document past and present infections, shedding light on the emergence, evolution, and spread of microbial pathogens.
The Browning Gold Fusion shotgun is a gas operated, autoloading shotgun. It is capable of shooting five shots (with the magazine plug removed using 2 3/4" loads) in rapid succession with each pull of the trigger. Upon firing, high pressure gas from behind the shot charge passes through two ports in the barrel, through the gas bracket and into the gas cylinder. High pressure gases force the gas piston rearward, applying pressure to the piston rod. As the piston rod moves rearward, it pushes the bolt assembly rearward, operating the action. As the bolt assembly moves rearward, it recocks the hammer and ejects the fired shell. After full rearward travel, the bolt assembly returns forward, picking up a new shell from the magazine and chambering it automatically. After the last shell has been fired, the bolt assembly locks to the rear, instead of returning forward. This facilitates speedy reloading. The short-stroke of the gas piston along with the snug, gas sealing fit of the piston rod limits the amount of 8
Shotgun barrels sometimes require polishing out, due to small pits or rust spots, or a new barrel may be rough enough to lead and spoil the pattern after a few shots. I usually do this polishing by mounting a steel rod in the lathe chuck with a slot about 4" long sawed down from the outer end. Place Carborundum clothe cut 4" wide around the outer end of the rod by placing the end in the saw-slot and wrapping it around the rod in the opposite direction from that in which the rod is turned. The grain of the Carborundum to be used will depend upon what condition the barrel is in as to pits or rust. If little rust and only small pits appear, a fine grit followed by gradually finer through the polishing stage will take care of the problem and a dull polish.
Abstract: Palm Kernel Meal has nutrient and amino acid composition comparable to that of copra meal except for higher lysine and methionine but it has been relatively underutilized and considered as agri-waste by-products. The study was conducted to investigate the potential of palm kernel meal (Elaeis guineensis) as a substitute to copra meal fed to broilers. Parameters considered in the study were average initial weight, average final weight, body weight gain, average daily gain, voluntary feed intake, feed conversion ratio, return above feed and chick cost and dressing percentage. Sixty broiler chicks regardless of sex were used as the experimental animal of the study. These birds were randomly distributed into five dietary treatments, replicated three times with four birds per replication. The five dietary treatments were Treatment 1- Homemade Ration without palm kernel meal (control); Treatment 2-Homemade Ration with 3.75 % palm kernel meal; Treatment 3-Homemade Ration with 7.50 % palm kernel meal; Treatment 4-Homemade Ration with 11.25% palm kernel meal and Treatment 5-Homemade Ration with 15% palm kernel meal. Data gathered were subjected to one-way Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) in a Completely Randomized Design using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 17.0 software. Results showed no significant differences in all parameters of the study. However, despite the short term duration of the experiment, the overall result and the return above feed and chick cost (RAFCC) disclosed a bright prospect of PKM substitution for broilers.
