This paper describes a research project, aimed at developing a system to integrate RFID-based materials management with resources modelling in project management to improve on-site materials tracking and inventory management processes. In order to develop the system, a comprehensive literature review and exploratory case studies were conducted to investigate current practices, problems, implementation of ICT and potential use of emerging technologies (such as RFID and wireless technologies) in overcoming the logistical difficulties associated with materials management. An initial assessment revealed that there is a potential to improve the tracking and management of materials using modern ICT, thus will enhance the operational efficiency of the project delivery process. Moreover, sophisticated technologies such as wireless systems and tagging are not generally used to overcome human error in materials identification and the space constraints inherent in many projects. This paper concludes the finding from case studies for developing a real-time materials tracking framework to support construction professional in handling materials more effectively.

Goal setting gives focus to where an individual will channel his/her time, energy and resources. To effectively manage your time, set long range and short range goals with key step to be taken to ensure their realisation. As a PA to a member of the House of Assembly, set goals of what you intend to achieve during your term in office. Break these goals into medium and short range objectives. Then list out key tasks that will lead to the achievement of these objectives. Let your goals be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound. Remember the saying,’ if you don’t know where you are going, anywhere will take you there’.
Meanwhile, there are various opinion about the preferable minimum sample size to perform factor analysis. Some authors recommend using a sample size based on the ratio of items involved (either 10 to 1 ratio or 5 to 1 ratio), while some recommend using a preferable sample as much as 50, 100 or larger [32, 34, 35]. Regarding the purpose of instrument development, some suggests a sample between 25 to 40 or 30 samples only [29, 36]. Whereas some asserts that the modest sample size is 150 for the instrument development process . Since this stage involved in instrument development process and factor analysis was used, hence, a total of 150 questionnaires seem adequate and were distributed randomly to targeted respondents. The researcher administered the questionnaire by email, mail, and hand to respondents. In this questionnaire, the scale that have been adopted is a 7-point Likert scale structure in assessing the significant level for each influential factor contributing to effective materials management. A total of 118 responses were received, but only 111 were useable. The analysis began with the screening data for missing data and outliers. After the screening process, 16 responses needed to be dropped as they were classified as outliers. Outliers are recommended to be dropped because they influence the results of the statistical analysis resulting in skewed distributions . Hence, only 95 responses were retained and used for factor analysis.
Several studies have been conducted for the identification of the distinct risk management techniques and tools. These tools can be used by New Project Development (NPD) and R&D project managers for the management of uncertainties in an effective manner (Teller, 2013). Studies have put forward two main risk types, namely, unambiguous risks and ambiguous risks. Unambiguous risks are those risks that are related to the consumer marketing and acceptance while ambiguous risks are the ones that take place when the difference of opinion exists in relation to the project management and the organization. In view of this, these studies set forward a rundown of prescribed activities that the R&D project managers could use to aid to better recognizable proof and administration of basic project risks. The studies recommend that the project supervisors should consider the ambiguous risks since they can possibly affect the project success.

This study involved quantitative mode of research using structured questionnaire survey. The respondents were asked to specify the method and software they practice in their project and their relative effectiveness using 3-likert scales. Data collection was carried out amongst clients, consultants and contractors involved in construction projects who are registered under CIDB and PKK. More than 300 sets of survey questionnaires were distributed to respondents. As a result, only 127 completed questionnaires could be collected which were analysed statistically with statistical software package SPSS. The experts/participants were project managers selected from various turnkey project management companies across the globe. After several rounds of communication consensus is formed between the experts regarding the weights of project complexity criterions. A judgment matrix is formed and used for computing the priorities of the corresponding elements. The pair wise comparison matrix formed by the expert’s opinion is presented in Table III.

Abstract:- After the incident of poisonous starch in Taiwan, the government immediately repaired the problem and completed the amendment of the Food Sanitation Management Law. In addition to substantially increasing the fines, it also further strengthened the current food safety risk monitoring and established an early warning mechanism. The purpose of this paper is tried to find out the effectiveness of crisis management by using design of experiment (DOE). Meanwhile, this paper is also to study the reflection by customers during different stage of crisis, such as before crisis, crisis happening and crisis recovery. The dimensions of brand relationship and reports related to food safety are accumulated to simulation the diffident stage of crisis management by using design of experiment. The result of this paper represent that among the stage of before crisis, crisis happening and crisis recovery is difference. This paper find out the most impact to customers is crisis happening as well which means most customers are affective the confidence with an enterprise by the affair of crisis, and the confidence of customers will be increased while a well treatment in the stage of crisis recovery.
ABSTRACT : Construction materials usually constitute a major portion of the total cost in a building construction project. Despite the potential benefit of ICT, convincing construction organisations to embrace its use and implementation has proved a difficult task. This study seeks to identify the implementation of ICT for materials management processes in construction projects. The findings from the interviews reveal that the implementation of ICT in the materials management processes for construction projects in Malaysia is at early stage. Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet and handheld devices are found to be the common ICT tools adopted in the materials management processes. The main barrier is found to be the cost involvement at the initial stage or overall implementation of ICT in the materials management processes. Finally, this paper concludes the finding from interviews towards the ICT implementation of materials management in the construction projects.
To gain further insights, the effectiveness of industrial training is examined with the types of industrial training company. From Table 2, it is found that the effectiveness of industrial training in improving one’s generic skills varies across the different types of industrial training company. On average, it is found that the GLC is relatively more effective in improving student’s communication, creative and analytical, time and group management, and ICT skills. On the other hand, government departments are relatively more effective in improving student’s English language proficiencies and ICT skills; private sector is effective in increasing one’s spoken English proficiencies. These mean differences are significantly more than zero (paired sample t-tests).
On the other side, post-assessment methods help a business to identify the list of benefits achieved after applying an ICT project. The multidimensional post-evaluation method, which is most commonly investigated in the case studies, is measured through several stages. Participants highlighted several questions that need to be investigated in the multidimensional post-evaluation method. It is time-consuming but depends more on initial investigation; however, this approach is better for knowing actual values (nonfinancial) acknowledged by the receivers. The outsourcing of ICTprojects is an attractive option in today‘s turbulent business environment. All case studies include private and government organizations to support their choice for outsourcing the ICTprojects as per requirements. It will allow them to activate service on time to accomplish the goal of particular strategy. The approval depends on ICT decision-makers and executive-level management. Accordingly, some organizations hire outside consultants or assessment firms to evaluation their projects. The disadvantages have also been mentioned from all participants are in regards to privacy and data exposed to an outside source, which is an ultimate risk for the organization.
