To develop the strategy for creating non‑pep‑ tide inhibitors of furin, we drew attention to the ar‑ ticle by Sielaff F. et al. [16] devoted to the synthesis and investigation of the properties of compounds containing an amidinohydrazone group. Encoura‑ ges by this work, we synthesized previously non‑ peptidic furin inhibitors with a general formula a (Fig. 1) containing two aryl rings joined by a linker X, differing in their chemical nature, length and hy ‑ drophobicity [17, 18]. In the present paper, synthesis and investigation of the rheological behavior of a graft copolymer based on Pectin (Pec) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) was carried out . The physical mixture of Pec and PAN was hydrolyzed by NaOH solution to yield Pec-poly(sodium acrylate-co-acrylamide) superabsorbent hydrogel. The nitrile groups of PAN were completely converted to a mixture of hydrophilic carboxamide and carboxylate groups during alkaline hydrolysis followed by in situ crosslinking of the PAN chains by the alkoxide ions of Pectin. A proposed mechanism for hydrogel formation was suggested and the hydrogel structures were confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy, SEM and porosimeter. The rheological behavior of the prepared gels were measured with rheometer.

In this study, CFD was used to model the flow and temperature profiles in a counter- current reactor for synthesis of nanomaterials under ScW conditions. The predicted temperatures were compared with experimental data with good agreement. The mixing study indicates that strong mixing happened in the shear layer between the recirculation zone and the ScW jet near its exit. The insertion length of the ScW tube was shortened and studied by CFD simulations with improved reactor performance being achieved.

To improve the performance of the ejector refrigeration system, the understanding of the flow of the fluid in the ejector is very essential. In the present study, the flow of the primary fluid after the exit of the nozzle, subjected to a drastic pressure difference is investigated. The effect of the deflection of the primary flow on the secondary flow is determined. It can be observed from the results that due to the deflection of the primary flow, the choking of the secondary flow occurs much earlier than anticipated, thus causing the mixing to occur in the convergent section of the ejector itself. This has profound implications on the performance of the ejector as the pressure after mixing will not remain constant but will vary according to the variation in the area of the convergent section of the ejector. Diffusion and γ' Phase Coarsening Kinetics in Ruthenium Containing Nickel Based Alloys

The interdiffusion of Re, W, Ru and Co in the binary and pseudo-binary Ni based alloys at 1523 K and the 0 phase coarsening kinetics of model superalloys at 1324 K have been investigated. The experimental results showed that both Re and W concentration gradients caused Ru uphill diffusion in the respective pseudo-binary diffusion couple. On the other hand, Ru concentration gradient promoted uphill diffusion for W but not for Re. Interestingly, Re uphill diffusion occurred under the influence of Co concentration gradient but Co uphill diffusion was not observed in the presence of Re concentration gradient. The cross interdiffusion coefficients qualitatively determined from the uphill diffusion profiles were in reasonable agreement with those reported previously. By comparing the interdiffusion coefficients in the binary and the pseudo-binary diffusion couples, it was found that Ru and W decreased the diffusivity of each other whereas Co has a stronger effect than Ru on decreasing the Re diffusivity.
