Two supplementary units namely plane angle and solid angle are also defined. Their units are radian (rad) and steradian (st) respectively.

In this paper we investigate unit root inference in panel data based on a generalized method of moments (GMM) approach. We consider traditional micro-panels where the cross-section dimension is much larger than the time-series dimension. There are two areas within panel data econometrics that are closely related to the subject of this paper. One is GMM estimation in dynamic micro-panels and the other is unit root inference in panel data models. The first topic has been explored for some time while the second topic is a relatively new research area that has evolved since the beginning of the 1990s. Contrary to the previous research on dynamic panels, the major part of the contributions to this new research area considers a diﬀerent type of panel data where the cross-section and time-series dimensions are similar in magnitude. Reviews of the literature on GMM estimation in dynamic micro-panels are found in Baltagi (1995) and Arellano (2003) and reviews of the literature on unit root inference in panels are found in Banerjee (1999) and Baltagi & Kao (2000) of which the latter also contains a review of the first mentioned literature.

According to various mentioned methods, different EEG monitors have been developed. The Narcotrend™ monitor (Monitor Technik, Bad Bramsted, Germany) that is based on pattern recognition of the raw EEG and classifies the EEG into different stages, introduces a di- mensionless Narcotrend™ index from 100 (awake) to 0 (electrical silence). The algorithm uses parameters such as amplitude measures, autoregressive modeling, fast Fourier transform (FFT) and spectral parameters . The SEDLine™ EEG monitor capable of calculating of PSI™ index uses the shift in power between the frontal and occipital areas. The mathematical analysis includes EEG power, frequency and coherence between bilateral brain regions . Datex-Ohmeda™ s/5 entropy Module uses entropy of EEG waves to predict DOA  and fi- nally BIS™ (Aspect Medical Systems, Newton, MA), that is the first monitor in the marketplace and has be- come the benchmark comparator for all other monitors, introduces the BIS™ index (that is a unit-less number between 100 and 0) as a DOA indicator based on com- bination of spectral, bispectral and temporal analysis . Approximately 450 peer-reviewed publications between 1990 and 2006 have been examined the effectiveness, accuracy and usefulness, both clinical and economical, of the BIS™ monitor .
The local exploitation makes the worst frog substantially influenced by the local or global best position, with the maximum step size controlling the fine degree of search. The fitness will be recalculated only when all dimensions of the worst frog have been updated. In this way, the entire individual (all dimensions) is an independent evaluation unit, completely ignores the excellent partial dimensions in the update process, scilicet, the part of dimensions of an individual which may be closer to the global optimum. If the overall fitness was worse than the original one, this part of the information would be discarded, and the frog would move to the next round of modification until re-randomized generation. On the other hand, even the new fitness is better than the old one, some dimensions may be degraded. It is accepted just for the improvement of the overall fitness.
In this study we analyzed the probabilistic analysis of the system by using of the regenerative processes and have obtained expressions for the various measure of system effectiveness such as the time dependent availability, steady state availability, total fraction of busy period for the regular and expert repairman and total number of visits by the expert repairman per unit time. Using the above measures, profit was calculated. Numerical expression for steady state availability and the profit function were obtained and graphs are also drawn for various parameters involved in the system. We have compared the characteristic, availability and profit with respect to failure rate of the system, to determine when they are improved.
This paper is concerned with various combinatorial parameters of classes that can be learned from a small set of examples. We show that the recursive teaching dimension, recently introduced by Zilles et al. (2008), is strongly connected to known complexity notions in machine learning, e.g., the self-directed learning complexity and the VC-dimension. To the best of our knowledge these are the first results unveiling such relations between teaching and query learning as well as between teaching and the VC-dimension. It will turn out that for many natural classes the RTD is upper-bounded by the VCD, e.g., classes of VC- dimension 1, intersection-closed classes and finite maximum classes. However, we will also show that there are certain (but rare) classes for which the recursive teaching dimension exceeds the VC-dimension. Moreover, for maximum classes, the combinatorial structure induced by the RTD, called teaching plan, is highly similar to the structure of sample compression schemes. Indeed one can transform any repetition-free teaching plan for a maximum class C into an unlabeled sample compression scheme for C and vice versa, while the latter is produced by (i) the corner-peeling algorithm of Rubinstein and Rubinstein (2012) and (ii) the tail matching algorithm of Kuzmin and Warmuth (2007).
I concede that, to an extent, this challenge seems a little unfair. In some sense spelling out ‘successful tracking’ could be seen as everyone’s job: realist and error theorist alike. The same point can be applied to the moral case. Per the introduction of error theories in section 1, we said that a view may be thought error theoretic just in case either the domain of discourse at least appears to quantify over entities that do not exist, or else that the entities that do exist aren’t arranged in such a way as to preserve our intuitive judgements. The latter disjunct surely can’t be read as requiring that all of our intuitive (moral or temporal) judgments are preserved. So, how many are required? Just one? Half? Who knows! And so, against that that backdrop, surely B&M can’t be expected to provide a totally precise definition of “successful tracking”. It’s a vague notion, to be sure, but a notion that’s regularly appealed to. I don’t want to over-state the concern. Nonetheless, I’ve identified above some pretty systematic and widespread errors in our temporal phenomenology. There’s simply a lot of error. So, whilst I agree that in perfectly general terms, spelling out what it takes for successful tracking to occur is difficult, and plausibly everyone faces a similar problem, with so many errors in our phenomenology, it seems pressing that B&M say at least a little more about successful tracking, else it become unclear how to properly understand their view.
The most important finding contained in Tables 4 and 5 is that, although CDR, Globalism and Localism measures are relative in that these have no direct relation with overall connectivities, these rankings are nonetheless clearly interrelated with GNC: Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing stand out not only because of their sheer overall connectivity in comparison to other Chinese cities but also because of the strength of their connections with the world’s leading cities. However, even though the connections of Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing are relatively more directed towards other major cities, there is still an important regional and national dimension to them: the three leading Chinese cities have (1) above-average national connections, (2) are strongly inter-connected (in all three cases, the other two cities rank in the top 5), while (3) the remaining major connections also have a regional dimension (e.g. major business connections with Singapore or Tianjin). In addition to the particular nature of connectivity profiles of this leading ‘triad’, Taiwanese cities (Taipei and Kaohsiung) also have idiosyncratic profiles combining small levels of Localism with strong regional connections beyond China.

Cook and Lee [ 12 ] obtained the same result for the SAVE [ 14 ] test statistic for dimension in the context of binary regression. Shao et al. [ 33 ] proposed a test statistic for dimension in the SAVE context and showed that is also a sum of weighted chi-square random variables. To obtain this result they required that the variance of the Kronecker product of the projection of the predictors onto the null space of the SAVE kernel matrix is constant given the projection of the predictors onto the central dimension reduction subspace (see [ 33 , Th. 3]); a condition which may be rather challenging to check in practice. Others have shown similar results for their proposed SDR methods.
Expression can be found of the myth of purity at the end of the sixteenth century. As Janette Dillon points out, ‘England remained at war with Spain until after the accession of James, and also became involved in the French civil war after 1589. The construction of “England” remained firmly entrenched in the definition and exclusion of otherness, whether racial, religious or political.’ 15 Even if a Renaissance notion of ‘Englishness’ was constructed through exclusion of the ‘strange’, as in ‘stranger’, this did not seem to be the case for many users of the English language which, far from excluding, actively invited elements of other languages. By contrast, the critically-accepted theory maintains that ‘the rise’ of the vernacular effected in turn a sense of nationality which, at least according to Dillon, was successful through its exclusion of non-native elements. But seeing language as productive of a sense of nationhood is complicated by the fact that the English verncaular frequently adopted terms rather than refused their entry. The myth of purity labels foreign interpolation as dangerous, bad and wrong. 16 Yet for those who seek to promote foreign borrowing such as Richard Mulcaster (see chapter three), the division of correct and incorrect language based on foreign and native words and speakers is troubling; indeed the sense that linguistic ‘error’ is to be corrected requires reassessment.
We will have two more examples, where calculation of dimension of measures will be used to find Hausdorff dimension of sets. The first example is the dimension of certain product (Bernoulli) measures, which will be used to show the well known fact: “in a random sequence of 0’s and 1’s either of the digits appears half of the time”. This fact in turn will be used to find the dimension of random slices of Sierpi´ nski gasket. The second application of dimension of measures is the computation of Hausdorff dimension of certain self-affine sets, to which the last chapter of this work is dedicated. For both of these examples we will need the Law of Large Numbers.
Many overwhelming low frequency non periodic components in time series are associated with the presence of unit roots in their data generating processes (DGP). Such time series are said to be integrated. The pioneering work of Nelson and Plosser (1982) led to the belief that many economic time series were best described in this way. This prompted a large amount of research on unit root time series, covering both theoretical and empirical aspects. The unit root paradigm has important practical implications since it entails that shocks have a permanent eﬀect on a variable, or equivalently that the ﬂuctuations they cause are not transitory.
