SECTION 3
Run Indicator (item 1) - This green indicator is on steady while running, accelerating, or
decelerating due to a speed reference change.
This indicator is flashing while the drive is searching for the motor speed during Start Into Spinning Motor, while waiting to accelerate during flux build-up of the motor, during deceleration due to a Stop command, while waiting to auto-restart during power-up or after a trip, and while DC braking. This applies whether the motor is running as a result of a Start or Jog command.
Fault Indicator (item 2) - This red indicator is lit (and the Run indicator goes out) if your drive is in the FAULT mode. See the Troubleshooting Your Drive section of this manual for the procedure on listing fault messages on your keypad display.
Forward Indicator (item 3) - This yellow indicator is on steady when the drive is operating in a forward direction or a Forward command is present and the drive is stopped. This indicator is flashing when a Forward command is present and the drive is operating in a reverse direction.
Reverse Indicator (item 4) - This yellow indicator is on steady when the drive is operating in a reverse direction or a Reverse command is present and the drive is stopped. This indicator is flashing when a Reverse command is present and the drive is operating in a forward direction.
F/R (Forward/Reverse Button) (item 5) - Use this button to toggle between Forward and Reverse. This operation can be disabled via a software parameter (see Section 4, Using the Parameters, for more information).
Start Button (item 6) - Use this button to set the drive in the RUN mode and start the drive ramp to the current speed setting. Pressing this button in the FAULT mode clears the fault condition and immediately restarts the drive to ramp to the set speed.
Stop Button (item 7) - Use this button to set the drive in the STOP mode and start the ramp to zero speed (unless the Stop Profile parameter is set to coast, in which case the motor will coast to a stop).
Stop Button, continued:
Pressing this button in the FAULT mode clears the fault condition and leaves the drive in the READY mode, but does not restart the drive.
If the drive is in the REMOTE mode, pressing this button stops the drive at the specified
deceleration rate. To restart the drive, you must cycle the external start contact with the stop contact closed (3-wire control), or cycle the stop contact with the start contact closed (2-wire control).
Up and Down Buttons (item 8) - These buttons allow you to scroll through the parameters in the SCROLL mode or change parameter data in the CHANGE SETTINGS mode.
With the drive in KEYPAD and RUN mode, pressing either the
Up
or theDown
button will make the drive immediately jump to the CHANGE SETTINGS mode and begin adjusting the Speed Setpoint.Select Button (item 9) - Use this button to toggle between LOCAL (Keypad) or REMOTE (Remote Station) operating modes. This operation can be disabled via a software parameter (see Section 4, Using the Parameters, for more information).
Remote Indicator (item 10) - This yellow indicator shows the drive is in the REMOTE mode. In this mode, commands can only be issued from a remote source.
Keypad Indicator (item 11) - This yellow
indicator shows the drive is in the KEYPAD mode.
In this mode, commands can only be issued from the keypad.
