7.5 Change of address
Any change of address must be reported immediately. You can do so via
http://progresswww.nl/rug or at the desk or in writing or via e-mail to the Student Service Desk (CSb) (see Addresses).
7.6 Complaints procedure
The Faculty of Spatial Sciences aims to provide students with an educational experience that progresses as smoothly and in as orderly a fashion as possible. Nevertheless, certain situations may necessitate part of a module or an activity coming under discussion. In order to enable students to complain about an educational situation, the Faculty has developed the following complaints procedure: 1 A complaint must always first be handed in to the lecturer or the person whose module or activity is the subject of discussion. This can be done in writing or orally.
2 If such a complaint to the lecturer or person referred to under 1 is not resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant, then the complaint can be submitted to the programme coordinator or programme director.
3 If a complaint to the programme coordinator or programme director is not resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant, then the complaint can be submitted to the Faculty Board. The complaint must be submitted in writing to the secretary of the Faculty Board. The Faculty Board shall then discuss the complaint, including consulting the Faculty Complaints Advisory Committee. The Faculty Board will then make a judgement.
Students can at first also submit complaints to Pro Geo via their site, under the heading ‘klachten’ (www.progeo.nl). Complaints related to literature and costs can be submitted to the programme director.
Students from all years and all departments of the Faculty can also always turn for advice or information to the study advisor, Ms D. Muntinga-Weurman. She can be reached on Wednesday mornings in room 0018 during her office hour, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
In addition, you can also make an appointment to see the study advisor on Tuesdays or Thursdays. However, you cannot submit your complaint via the study advisor; that can only be done in the ways set out above.
