During the time of this thesis I also did some simulational work for the Optics and Photonics department at KTH. In particular I did some simulations of bends and mode analysis of air-suspended waveguides in COMSOL [12], where my counselor Aleksandrs Marinins did the experimental work. An article on this has been approved by the reviewers of IEEE Photonics Technology Letters and is currently going through the procedures of publication.
