Starting the FactoryTalk Transaction Manager configuration

TIP If you are migrating the RSBizWare suite from two computers, perform

the following steps on the Source RSBizWare server computer. To successfully restore your FactoryTalk Transaction Manager configuration, you need to keep for reference the location in which the configuration is saved in FactoryTalk Transaction Manager, and create the configuration backup.

To check the location in which your FactoryTalk Transaction Manager configuration is saved:

1. Open FactoryTalk Transaction Manager.

2. On the Configuration menu, click Checklist. The Configuration Checklist dialog box appears.

3. Under Define Configuration, click Step 1.

The FactoryTalk Transaction Manager Configuration

dialog box appears.

In the Path text box, the location in which the configuration is saved is provided.

4. Keep it for reference.

To back up your FactoryTalk Transaction Manager configuration:

1. Open FactoryTalk Transaction Manager.

2. In the tree view, right-click the FactoryTalk Transaction Manager configuration that you want to migrate, and then click Stop Configuration.

The following message appears:

3. Click Yes.

4. Wait until all the services are stopped and the traffic lights icon next to the configuration in the tree view changes to the red light.

5. On the Configuration menu, click Backup. The Remote rsq File Browse dialog box appears.

6. In the tree view, select the folder to which you want to save your configuration, or create a new one.

To create a new folder:

1. In the File Path text box, type the path to the folder and the folder name, and then click New.

The following message appears:

TIP If you are migrating the RSBizWare suite from two computers, perform

the following steps on the Source Database server computer.

To back up your RSBizWare SQL Server database: 1. Open SQL Server Management Studio.

The Connect to Server dialog box appears.

2. If necessary, type your login and password, and then click

Connect.

3. In the Object Explorer, expand Databases.

4. Right-click the database that you want to migrate, and then click Tasks > Back Up.

Step 2: Back up your

RSBizWare SQL Server

database

The Back Up Database dialog box appears.

Under Destination, the default location to which the backup will be saved is provided.

Leave it or choose another location.

To choose another location for your database backup: 1. Under Destination, click Remove.

The default location is removed.

2. Click Add.

The Select Backup Destination dialog box appears.

3. Under File name, click .

The Locate Database Files dialog box appears.

4. Navigate to the location, in which you want to save the file.

5. In the File name text box, type the file name under which you want to save your RSBizWare SQL Server database backup.

6. Click OK.

7. In the Select Backup Destination dialog box, click OK. Under Destination, your location and the file name of the RSBizWare database backup is listed.

5. In the left pane of the Back Up Database dialog box, under

Select a page, click Options.

6. Under Overwrite media, click Overwrite all existing backup sets.

7. Under Reliability, select the Verify backup when finished

check box.

8. Click OK.

Once the backing up process is complete, the following message appears:

9. Click OK.

TIP If you are migrating the RSBizWare suite from two computers, perform

the following steps on the Source Database server computer. In order to successfully restore your RSBizWare SQL Server database on the target computer, you will need to recreate all the database users that are required by this database, along with their roles and passwords.
