Base Column Area

In document INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION GUIDE (Page 113-118)

TheBase Columnarea is located at the right side of theMapped Columns tab. It looks like this:

Using this area, you can complete the configuration of a new mapped column by mapping its values to other values according to your requirements.

Within this area, there is the Table of Mapped Values. It can be used to display the mappings of the base column that have been configured for a par- ticular mapped column. You can add new mappings, as well as modify or delete mappings.

To view the current mappings for a base column, you need to load them into the table. You can, however, also enter mappings in the table that are completely new, without referring to any previous values.

A mapping is entered and displayed in this table using the following format (the corresponding headings of the table columns are shown in brackets):

Column name (Base Column) – Operator – Numerical Value (Map this value) – Mapped-to-Value (to this value)

So, e. g. the meaning of the mapping entryStatus Code = 100 Continue is:

If theStatus Codecolumn has the value 100, then this value is mapped to the text stringContinue.

Above this table, the settings are shown that were configured for this base col- umn in theMapped Columnsarea, see the section labeledAdding a New

Mapped Columnin 4.2.17.1. You cannot edit these settings in theBase Col-

umnarea. Instead, you would have to create a new mapped column in the

Mapped Columnsarea and specify new settings there.

To import or export sets of mapping values, anImportand anExportbutton are provided next to the bottom of the table.

The following sections describe how to proceed when performing the activities mentioned in this description of theBase Columnarea.

Adding a New Mapping Entry

To add a new mapping entry to theTable of Mapped Values, click on the

New Entrybutton, which is located next to the right side of the table.

This opens a window where you can configure a new mapping for a base col- umn value:

Enter a base column value, e. g. 150, in the input field on the left side of the window, and the value it shall be mapped to, e. g. Blocked, in the input field on the right.

The type of value you can enter on the left side corresponds to the type of values that are eligible for the selected base column. This means it can be numerical, e. g. if theBytescolumn was selected as base column, or, e. g. a text string ifUser Name was selected.

On the right side, it corresponds to what you configured for it asResult Type parameter when you created the new mapped column, see the subsection labeledAdding a New Mapped Columnin4.2.17.1.

After clickingOK, the new mapping is displayed in the table.

Using theCancelbutton, you can finish this procedure without creating a new mapping.

Modifying a Mapping Entry

To modify a mapping entry, select it in theTable of Mapped Valuesand click on theModifybutton.

This button is located next to the right side of the table and is activated when a mapping entry has been selected.

Clicking on theModifybutton opens a window where you can modify the map- ping of a base column value:

The mapping values that are currently configured are shown as values in this window. Modify these to take the values you prefer.

After clickingOK, the modified mapping entry is displayed in the table.

Using theCancelbutton, you can finish this procedure without modifying the mapping.

Deleting a Mapping Entry

To delete a mapping entry, select it in theTable of Mapped Valuesand click on the Delete button. It is located next to the right side of the table and is activated when a mapping entry has been selected.

After responding to a security check, the mapping entry is removed from the table.

Importing Base Column Values

To import the values for the setting of a base column, use theImportbutton, which is located next to the bottom of the table.

Clicking on this button opens a window where you can import the current values or specify a file containing the values you want to import:

To import the current values for a base column, make sure the radio button labeledImport current Base Columns values is checked. The button is also checked by default.

Note: This option is disabled if no values can be imported for a base column. So, e. g. values for Year cannot be imported since they are not stored in the database. These values are calculated based on the existing date entries instead.

To import values from a file, specify this file by entering its name in the input field labeledCSV file to be imported (on file system of CR server)or by browsing to its location.

With regard to the values that were stored in this file, you can decide toAppend

Using theCancelbutton, you can finish this procedure without importing the values.

Exporting Base Column Values

To export the values for the setting of a base column, use theExportbutton, which is located next to the bottom of the table.

Clicking on this button opens a window for specifying the location where you want to export the values:

Specify this location by entering it in the input field labeledDirectory to save

export file to (on CR server machine) or by browsing to it.
