You can change Silk Browser settings, such as privacy controls or the default search engine, to customize your browsing experience.

To access settings for the Silk browser, view the left panel, and then tap Settings.
Setting Description
Search Engine Select Bing, Google, or Yahoo! as your default search engine.
Pop-Up Windows Select to Always show pop-ups, Never show pop-ups, or
Ask before showing pop-ups.
Cloud In this menu, you can turn on/off:
• Use Cloud - Allow Silk to use the Amazon Cloud for
faster web page loading.
• Optional Encryption - The Silk Browser routes
individual web requests dynamically, either directly through your phone or through the Amazon Cloud (whichever is more efficient). Tap this option to encrypt requests routed through Amazon servers.
• Instant Page Load - When this feature is enabled, the
Silk Browser will load the next page you're likely to visit faster than a normal page load. A lightning bolt appears in the address bar after you've selected a cloud-accelerated link.
• Prompt for Experimental Streaming Viewer - Allow
Silk to notify you when a website is compatible with the experimental streaming viewer so you can view Flash videos.
Auto-Scroll Turn this feature on if you would like to tilt your phone forward and backward to scroll up and down on a web page.
Your Data • Clear Browser Data - Control your privacy by deleting
your browser history, including websites you've visited, saved passwords, and personal information added to forms.
• If you want to clear browser data for a specific
website, tap Individual Website Data, and then tap the website to clear your data.
• Accept Cookies – Cookies are enabled by default,
but you can turn them off and on.
Advanced Settings • Load Images - Allow websites to load images
immediately.
• Enable JavaScript - JavaScript allows interactive
elements to appear on a website. When you disable this option, some websites may not work properly.
Setting Description
• Closed Captions - Customize your closed caption
experience for web videos in compatible formats, including size and color of text, font style, and more.
• Show Security Warnings - Show a warning message
when there is a problem with the site's security.
Wallet
Amazon Wallet enables you to digitally store items you usually keep in your physical wallet, such as gift cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards. Add, access, and manage your cards from your Fire phone or online at www.amazon.com/wallet.
Note: Your wallet information is automatically stored in the Cloud and can be accessed from other Fire phone devices
registered to the same Amazon account, as well as online at www.amazon.com/wallet. The Wallet app requires a network connection the first time you use it on your Fire phone, and to access changes made on other phones or at Amazon.com.
Tip: For security purposes, you can add a 4-digit PIN to restrict access to your card details. To do this... Do this...
Add a card 1. From the Home screen of the app, tap + Add a card or tap the + icon at the top right.
2. Select Gift Card, Rewards or Loyalty Card, or
Other Card.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the card details, such as account number and PIN (if applicable). You can also take pictures of the front and back of the card.
Tip: Some cards have a barcode or QR code which
can be scanned in to save time adding to your Amazon Wallet.
Note: Make sure that the account number you scan
in matches the number printed on the back of the card.
4. When you’re finished, tap the checkmark at the top right.
To do this... Do this...
View card details Select a card to view more information. Delete a card Press and hold a card, and then tap Remove. Add a PIN to restrict access to your wallet card details From the left panel, tap Create PIN.
Note: Your wallet PIN is different from the Lock Screen
PIN for your phone.
Change PIN or reset a forgotten PIN From the left panel, tap Change PIN. You will be prompted to enter your current PIN before you can set a new one.
Note: You need a network connection to change your
PIN.
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, tap Forgot your wallet
PIN? You will be prompted to log in to your Amazon
account in order to reset your wallet PIN. View and refresh the balance (of 3rd party non-Amazon
gift cards)
The current balance of your cards will automatically be displayed, if available.
Note: Not all 3rd party gift cards support balance look-up.
New cards are still being added.
To refresh the available balances, swipe down on the Home screen of the app to initiate a refresh.
