8 cash flOw statement
the cash flow statement shows how the item “Cash and cash equivalents” of rhÖN-KlINIKUM Group has changed in the year under review as a result of cash inflows and outflows. the impact of acquisitions, divestments and other changes in the scope of consolidation has been eliminated. In accordance with Ias 7 (Cash Flow statements), a distinction is made between cash flows from operating activities, invest-ing activities as well as financinvest-ing activities. the liquidity shown in the statement of changes in financial position includes cash on hand, cheques as well as cash with banks. For the purposes of the cash flow statement, bank overdrafts are deducted from cash and cash equivalents. reconciliation is provided in the Notes on cash and cash equivalents. the cash flow statement has included a figure of € 27.2 million (previous year: € 35.8 million) for outstanding construction invoices and a figure € 0.0 million (previous year: € 0.2 million) for non-cash losses from financial derivatives.
the discontinuation or winding-up of the “Marburg Particle therapy“ development project led to a dispos-al of plant under construction, in conjunction with a payment received in the amount of € 62.8 million.
dividends paid to minority interests amounted to € 3.1 million (previous year: € 2.1 million). Moreover, in financial year 2011 there were equity transactions amounting to € 5.1 million in connection with the ma-jority takeover of the ophthalmological centre in düsseldorf, additional transactions in the total amount
