The Center for International Security and Derivative Markets was established through the generous support of Michael Philipp and Anshu Jain, both graduates of the University of Massachusetts. Since then, other UMASS graduates as well as other supportive corporate and individual contributors have enabled CISDM to build on these contributions to provide an atmosphere where both graduate and undergraduate students can involve themselves directly in the growing areas of international security and derivatives markets research. Other donors are presently in the process of establishing Ph.D. and MBA fellowships and providing funding for essential material resources (such as software, hardware, and data) necessary for education and research purposes.
The driving force behind CISDM is the shared belief that the most important legacy that can be left are the
opportunities provided to others. CISDM supports financially both Ph.D. and MBA students, provides both software and hardware support for faculty and students, funds academic and business speakers for student groups, and helps fund faculty and student attendance at both national and international seminars. With the mission of a public university always in mind, CISDM looks forward to continuing these services.

Corporate Overview
"We are all conscious of the strong trend today of the need to provide ourselves with personal financial independence and to take responsibility for our financial future. " - BWIS
BWIS manages the assets of wealthy individuals, trusts, IBCs, corporations and those who wish to take advantage of the numerous international offshore opportunities. Private client portfolio management lies at the heart of the asset management business. BWIS takes great care to understand clients' objectives at the outset of the relationship. In the establishment of an appropriate strategy for a portfolio, they often review the client's overall financial planning arrangements. Most accounts can be maintained in the currency of the client's choice.
Traditional Values Combined with Modern Investment Discipline
BWIS combines the strengths of major international investment businesses with the level of service associated with much smaller organizations. They operate with a disciplined, value-oriented investment philosophy encompassing an unyielding dedication to outstanding performance. The working environment is characterized by lateral thinking and a unique open minded atmosphere, which allows for the anticipation of, and response to, new global investment patterns. The basics of investing remain the same as they always have been: professional management,
diversification and ease of investing. Client portfolios are comprised of units in mutual funds, stocks and government and corporate bonds. This arrangement allows clients the most efficient access to the expertise of investment professionals in offices in five continents around the world. Investments are generally advised from analysts in local markets as it is the view of BWIS that local or regional professionals have significant advantages in interpreting their own markets.
