SECTION VI – ABOUT US INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
III. Database Services
One of the key challenges for any Corporate doing business in India, is the lack of centralized, digitized databases, as well as the lack of any unique single identifier for individuals. This makes it impossible for any business to take a 360 degree view of its employees and customers. Without such a view, a corporate is unable to design and implement an effective Risk Management strategy covering risks related to both, its employees, contract staff as well as vendors. Employee related theft and fraud has been identified as the largest risk in all sectors and will continue being so in the future as well.
Solution and the Future: CRP Secure!
Digitized databases Authentic information
Higher productivity, efficiency and cost saving
Online availability of data Reduced dependence on people Instant, Accurate, Secure
Our Company has had the foresight and vision to ensure a more efficient, effective way of commanding and retaining a leadership position in its businesses. We have been working over the past few years on filling the inherent gap of a process which has been mainly manual and dependant on third party. We have done so by systematically accumulating and digitizing Education, Employment and Criminal Records, into an integrated platform, ‘CRP SECURE’.
In 2009, CRP SECURE was launched and opened up to our clients for the first time, becoming India’s first Participatory Employee Repository. Today, 15 of India’s largest corporates contribute their employee records into CRP SECURE on a fortnightly basis. They then access this database, through
91
an online, secure portal, which allows them to screen potential employees in the fastest and most cost effective way with assured quality.
We believe that with CRP SECURE will be an important tool for us for the Employee Risk Management processes in India and across Asia. If we continue to invest in the process of acquiring, digitizing and indexing the databases, we believe we can create a new product/service which will help us to capitalize on opportunities to position our service offerings in segments adjacent the current verticals serviced by us.
Locations
Our Company is headquartered in Andheri, Mumbai, with branch offices in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore.
“Symphony”
Symphony is a proprietary integrated workflow software that seamlessly directs, tracks and controls the flow of work at CRP. This system became functional from the FY 2006-07.
The three critical points of use of Symphony are:
Client interface: With symphony, our clients now have access to their portfolio in real time. This reduces the inbound telephone traffic at CRP thus enhancing our human resource efficiency. From the client perspective, they can closely monitor our work and trigger any prioritizing, if required.
Branch Connectivity: All the branches of CRP are connected through Symphony. Earlier, the entire operations would be driven between a combination of spreadsheets and emails. This was acceptable till the volume of work and locations were limited.
Vendor Management: Our key vendors have been given a limited access to Symphony. This has increased the controls on the overall turnaround time and also the completeness of the reports that are driven through our robust vendor network
Symphony integrates the entire spectrum of activities at CRP. The foundation of the workflow is the structure built around the master files which lend a degree of flexibility to our business which is fairly dynamic in its service offerings. Some of the masters include the client master which is created every time a now client is added to the system. This holds the information of the SLA along with the pricing matrix. Other masters include employee masters, activity masters and so on.
The gamut of activities covered by Symphony include:
Pan India Inputs: No matter where the client initiates the case from, it is fed into the system from the
source location.
Auto Allocation Queues: Every case is split into the field and tele-activities based on the input. The
field work moves into the respective queue of the location directly based on the pin code ownership matrix. All other activities are allocated to the team based on productivity matrix.
Quality Control: This is one of the critical functions of Symphony which gets triggered post the auto
consolidation of close activities. The system checks for anomalies in the case based on the trigger logic built into the system. This is then fed to the manual quality control officer for the final closure. Since its inception, Symphony has been upgraded numerous times to make it more relevant with the changing needs of the business. We propose to further upgrade the Symphony system at an estimated cost of ` 375.00 Lacs.
92
Volumes: The scale of business operations today as compared to the time when Symphony was conceptualized has gone up more than 1000%. Data is the lifeline of our business and the future will require a architecture best suited to handling even more larger quantum’s of data with minimum of system vulnerabilities
Functionalities: Currently, CRP is using different modules for billing, collection, financial costing, MIS. This leads to certain gaps which in turn adversely impact the operational and finance cycle. The following would be the important additions and integrations into the new version of our workflow-
o Billing: The billing and collection mechanism of Symphony would be one of the most
dynamic logics written in the code. There are large number of billing parameters based on type of case, levels of authentication, location, penalties etc that need to be factored to arrive at the invoice values of the transactions. This would then backed be by the receivable tracking system that triggers red, amber, green alerts based on the value and aging of the invoices
o MIS: Symphony needs to be equipped with a robust MIS generation module. This
module would analyze the data and send ‘need to know’, relevant MIS’s to every level of the operations. The costing segment of the MIS module would publish financial cost reports to the finance and senior operations teams. This module would also feed client geography wise profitability which would increase the focus on higher efficiencies
Evolving Technology: Since Symphony was created, there have been major advances in technology. These new tools bring in more accuracy to the functioning of the system. Also the use of freeware would bring down the compliance costs and risks going ahead
Client Complexities: The nature of the business is becoming more complex and the needs of the clients are becoming more dynamic. This is truer since the time CRP started partnering with global MNC’s as their risk partner. The current version of Symphony is not adept to handle this scale of service options within the SLA’s. Also, the need to incorporate the Six Sigma algorithms, which measure the error rate at every part of the sub process, would also be integrated within the new version to take the operational efficiency of CRP to unprecedented heights
Our Competitive Strengths
The following are our principal competitive strengths, which, we believe, are our key differentiating factors from the rest of the competition:
1. Focus on major client segments: Our current service offerings are focused on major industry verticals which avail of our services and products like BFSI, IT/BPO/KPO, and Retail. We believe that our range of service offerings with a solution-based approach helps clients achieve their business objectives in a more efficient and cost effective manner and enables us to cross sell and obtain additional business from existing clients as well as address a larger base of potential new clients.
2. Wide Range of Services: We have developed a strong services portfolio, which we intend to strengthen further. We would continue to leverage on this domain expertise as well as the services portfolio to offer comprehensive solutions to our customers.
