Edit Scheduling Parameters (ESP)

19.1 Application Coordinator Menu (ACM)

19.1.6 Edit Scheduling Parameters (ESP)

Use this option to set up and maintain facility and system parameters dealing with the

Scheduling functions in PIMS. There are three files involved. The MAS Parameter file

has only one entry and is used for system-wide items such as multi-division yes/no and

appointment search threshold. All other parameters are based on facility and stored in

either the Medical Center Division or the IHS Scheduling Parameter file.

To access ESP, type ESP at the “Select Application Coordinator Menu Option:”

prompt located in the Application Coordinator menu.

a Multidivisional Medical Center, and the appointment search threshold.

1.

Type the name of the Primary Facility at the “Primary Facility Name:” prompt, or

press the Enter key to keep the current default name.

2.

Type Y or N depending if your facility is a multidivisional Medical Center at the

“Multidivision Med Center?:” prompt.

3.

Type the time in days for the appointment search threshold at the “Appt Search

Threshold:” prompt. Enter the number of days in the past for which the

“Appointment Management” option should initially search appointments. When the

user selects a patient, this parameter will automatically be used to search that many

days in the past for appointments. When a clinic is selected, this number will be

used to calculate the default beginning date. If this field is not entered, then the

system will use two days.
