FINANCIAL INFORMATION

FEE ASSESSMENT AND PAYMENT

Current tuition and fee information is available to students prior to registration. Information is online at the Registrar’s website

The University of Kansas Administrators and the Kansas Board of Regents determine tuition and fees. Program administrators and The Dean of School of Health Professions may determine additional fees specific to the Program.

All tuition and fee information is available in electronic and/or printed format prior to students registering for courses. All publications that list tuition and fees have a disclaimer that states tuition/fees are subject to change. If the tuition and fees change prior to student registration, a full explanation is provided to any individual who inquires about the Program and/or discrepancy.

The schedule for fee assessment and payment deadlines can be found each semester at the Registrar’s website. If payment is not made each semester by the KUMC Fee Payment Deadline, a late payment fee will be assessed.

REFUND OF FEES PAID

A student who withdraws or is dismissed is eligible for a refund of fees according to the schedule at the Registrar’s website, www.kumc.edu/studentcenter/registrar.html.

HOLDS POLICY

The University of Kansas Medical Center's Office of the Registrar maintains a record of all students who have a record and enrollment hold in accordance with the policy set forth in the Comprehensive Fee Schedule. Students can view holds online in Enroll and Pay at https://sa.ku.edu.

Record and Enrollment Holds: A student's academic transcript will be withheld and future enrollments denied by the University:

 To ensure obligations have been met (such as satisfactory academic progress, financial obligations to the University, declaration of major in a timely fashion, etc.)

 To enforce compliance with University regulations (such as immunization regulations)

 To allow review of pending charges of misconduct against the student (either academic or nonacademic)

 When the need of the University is deemed sufficiently great to require potential postponement or denial of enrollment (such as address/emergency contact information updates)

ON LINE COURSE FEES

Tuition for courses offered on-line are assessed for all students at the resident tuition rate plus an E-learning graduate fee per credit hour. Consult the Registrar’s website,

www.kumc.edu/studentcenter/registrar.html for current rates. CAMPUS FEES

Each semester students are assessed a required Campus Fee which consists of a Student Health Fee, a Student Activity Fee and a Student Governing Council Fee. These fees are used to fund the Student Health Service and student activities. The Health Professions Student Senate is responsible for student activity fee expenditures, and the Student Governing Council is responsible for Student Governing Council fee expenditures.

STUDENT HEALTH FEE

The Student Health Fee entitles students to an unlimited number of clinical office visits. Additional charges will be assessed for routine physicals, well-woman exams, and certain procedures.

LIBRARY FEE

Each semester students are assessed a Library Fee which gives full access to the facilities and holdings of Dykes Library.

The Kirmayer Fitness Center was designed to promote physical fitness and wellness among members of the KUMC community. All students enrolled in more than three credits in Summer semesters and more than six credits in Fall and Spring semesters automatically become members upon enrollment in classes and payment of an assessed fee. RESIDENCY FOR TUITION PURPOSES

All students have been informed of their Residency status by the Registrar’s Office. Qualifying for Kansas residency for tuition purposes can be difficult for students from out-of-state. Qualifying as a resident for tuition purposes requires more than just being

FINANCIAL AID

Sources of financial aid are available to students enrolled in the School of Health Professions. EMERGENCY LOAN FUND

A limited amount of short-term assistance may be available to students in temporary financial need. Loans up to ninety days are available through this fund. Applications for such loans are made in the Financial Aid office. There is no deadline for filing.

A long-term loan fund is available through the AANA when all other mechanisms for financial assistance have been exhausted. For more information, contact the Director of Finance at the AANA.
