EMDC Materials Group List of Qualified Forging List (QFL) According with MPDS 29-01-31 Rev. 3 – th November 2010
58 of 114 NOTES
1) EMDC requires that all critical carbon and alloy steel forgings shall be procured from qualified suppliers. The following product forms are covered by this Qualified Forging List:
• Tubing hangers
• Tubing head adapters
• Tree cap body
• Valve bodies, blocks and/or bonnets (see note 6 below)
• Connectors
• Choke bodies
• Manifold valve bodies and/or bonnets (see note 6 below)
• Taper joint forgings
• Flex joint forging
• Ball valves
2) This Qualified Forging List (QFL) identifies those forging manufacturers that have been technically assessed to supply forgings for onshore and offshore applications in accordance with MPDS 29-01-31
3) Manufacturers are qualified to supply the material grades, product forms, and sizes ranges as defined in the table.
4) Manufacturers are restricted to the restrictions shown and manufacturing processes shown under comments. A change shall invalidate the manufacturer’s qualification.
5) Manufacturer shall have performed a technical audit of their sub-suppliers and details of this technical audit shall be made available to Company upon request.
6) EMDC accepts that certain manufacturing processes may be carried out by sub-suppliers. EMDC shall be advised if a change is made which covers the following activities.
• Supply of raw material
• Forging
• Heat treatment
• Laboratory testing services
• N.D.E Services
7) QFL also includes forging manufacturers that have been used on previous Company projects. No information on performance or quality is available. Company has not endorsed these suppliers due to insufficient knowledge of suppliers quality. If Project desires to use these suppliers, then technical assessment is required.

8) Forging shaping operations may be performed by hammering, pressing, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending or by a combination of all. Flanges, elbows, bends, tees, valve bodies, hangers, and/or manifolds shall not be machined directly from forged or wrought bar without written approval by Company.
9) If forgings have been purchased through a Stockist ( company who sub contracts processes to multi sub suppliers, and is also capable of performing some manufacturing processes within). Stockist shall have performed a technical audit on their sub-suppliers and obtain appropriate Manufacturing Procedure Specification’s (MPS’s), which provides details of all critical operations performed on forgings being supplied for Company projects
10) It shall be the Stockists responsibility to ensure that sub-suppliers comply with the requirements of MPDS 29-01-31.
11) Details of technical audit reports along with MPS’s shall be made available to Company upon request. Under these circumstances, Company reserves the right to carry out assessment of sub-suppliers in accordance with MPDS 29-01-31.
12) For general queries call Manuel Maligas ( + 1 281 654 5626) or Geoff Dunn ( + 1 281 654 4870) EMDC Materials Department.
