Home Module

When you log into Sugar, the Home module displays on the screen. Tabs for other modules display alongside the My Sugar tab.

The Home module displays the following tabs:

My Sugar: displays a summary of your customer-related tasks and activities Tracker: displays pre-defined reports that you can use to track your actions as well as actions of those who report to you.

Sales Page: displays pre-defined sales reports as charts. For example, My Pipeline displays a chart of your sales opportunities based on the cumulative amounts for selected sales stages. This chart, based on a Sugar predefined report, displays only when the expected close date is within the specified date range.

Click the Edit icon to modify a sales stage or the time period. The updated information is reflected in the pipeline chart. To refresh the view after an update, click the Refresh icon.

Marketing & Support Page: displays pre-defined marketing and support-related reports as charts.All charts are displayed as a collection of user-configurable Sugar Dashlets.You can rearrange these Sugar Dashlets and customize their appearance to suit your requirements. For example, you can change their titles and display or hide columns. You can always revert to the default settings, if needed.

Developers can extend Sugar Dashlets to provide additional capabilities to users.

By default, the Home page displays the Sugar Dashlets listed below. You can remove the ones that you do not need and add other Sugar Dashlets in their place.

My Portal. Presents product information and news about SugarCRM on your Home page. You can add additional My Portal dashlets to view information from external web sites and applications on your Home page in Sugar. The My Portal option is available on the Tools tab of the Add Sugar Dashlets pop-up window.

My Calls. Lists phone calls set up by you or others.

My Meetings. Lists invitations to meetings set up by you or others.

My Leads. Displays a list of leads that you created.

My Top Open Opportunities. Lists the top five opportunities sorted by the amount. Opportunities with a status of “Closed-Lost” or “Closed-Won” are not included.

My Accounts. Displays accounts assigned to you by yourself or other users.

My Open Cases. Displays a list of customer issues assigned to you for resolution.

Team Notices. Displays any announcements targeted towards the team to which you belong. Only users with administrator privileges can set up these

announcements.

The Home page also provides a Shortcuts menu which lists options to create activities and records.

Customizing the Home module

You can edit the Home page according to your preference. You can rename the My Sugar and My Charts tabs, change the layout, and add new Sugar Dashlets.

Additionally, you can delete the My Charts tab. If you need space to accommodate more Sugar Dashlets, you can add new pages to the Home page. These pages display as additional tabs next to the My Sugar tab.

Note the following restrictions when creating new Home pages:

z You cannot add more than 10 pages to the Home module.

z You cannot have more than three columns on a page.

z You cannot have duplicate page names.

z Page names cannot be more than 25 characters long.

z You cannot delete the Sugar Home module page but you can delete pages that you create.

You can revert to the default Home module setting at any time. However, note that doing so will delete any pages that you added to the Home module.

To customize the Home module

1. To rename the My Sugar tab, do the following:

a. Click the Down arrow on the tab and select Rename Page.

The tab label turns into a text field where you can enter a new name for the tab.

b. Enter a new name and click outside the field to display the tab with the new name.

2. To add Sugar Dashlets, click the Down arrow on the My Sugar tab and select Add Sugar Dashlets. For more information, see “Managing Sugar Dashlets” on page 24.

3. To change the layout of a page do the following:

a. Click the Down arrow on the My Sugar tab and select Change Layout.

Home Module

The Change Layout window displays on the screen. The default is two columns on the page.

b. Select the number of columns you want displayed on the page and click Submit.

The system reformats the page to display existing information within the number of specified columns.

To add and manage new pages

1. Click the Add Page link located next to the page tabs.

The Add Page window displays on the screen.

2. Enter a name for the page, select the number of columns you want on the page, and click Submit.

The new page tab is added to the Home page and the new page displays on the screen.

3. Click the Down arrow on the new page to view options. You can rename the page, add Sugar Dashlets, and change page layout.

4. To delete the page, click the Down arrow on the page tab, select Delete Page, and click OK to confirm the deletion.

To revert to default Home page settings

1. Click the My Account option located at the top right-hand corner of the page.

2. On your My Account page, click Homepage, and click OK to confirm the action.

The system resets the Home page and logs you out of the system.

3. Log back into the system to view the changes.
