SECTION 12 – PROPELLER
1 Spinner and Spinner Bulkhead
Remove spinner and inspect for cracks and fractures. HM139

Blades and Hub
a. With spinner removed, inspect blades for nicks, cracks, erosion, corrosion, dents, scratches or other defects.
b. Fix all damages.
c. Inspect hub parts for cracks or wear.
d. Check for oil and grease leaks.

3 Propeller Mounting Bolts
a. Inspect mounting bolts and safety wire for signs of looseness.
b. Retorque mounting bolts as necessary. HM139

Lubricate Propeller
a. Remove one of the lubrication fittings from each blade clamp.
b. Pump grease into the blade clamp grease fitting until grease emerges from the hole of the removed lubrication fitting.
c. Lubrication is complete when grease emerges in a steady flow with no air pockets or moisture, and has the color and texture of the new grease.

Propeller Time In Service
Check propeller time in service to determine if propeller overhaul is required. (Overhaul propeller each 3000 hours or 5 years, whichever occurs first)
a. Check governor for security and oil leakage.
b. Check control linkage for security, freedom of operation and proper rigging.
c. Check security of linkage and for loose or worn linkage bolts.
Note :
RII required if tension has to be adjusted.

Perform the inspection/ maintenance action required by the time in service or time since overhaul of the engine.

Use the Rolls-Royce checklist in conjunction with this section of the Soloy inspection checklist.

b. Inspect clamps for broken or missing lockwire and misaligned exhaust flanges.

b. Check that ejectors are aligned with and centered on the engine exhaust stacks.
c. Check attachment of struts and hardware for security and wear.

Check all engine compartment electrical wiring for proper routing, security of attachment, chaffing and evidence of overheating.

Engine Inlet
a. Check engine heated inlet for security of attachment and security of electrical wiring.
