The indicators of the signal strength are red when the last GPRS-transmission was successful, respectively blue when it wasn’t.
A flashing background of the GPRS field indicates that a connection is currently initialised.
00.20.30 Result Screens
The contents of the 4 available result screens can be configured in the menu. For further information refer to
20.10 MENU OVERVIEW.
In case of an alert, the according result screen will immediately be coloured red. As soon as the alert is reseted the screen’s background will be coloured black again. For further information about the configuration of alerts refer to 20 CONFIGURATION.
00.20.40 Entering the Menu
After pressing the navigation key next to Menu, the configuration menu will be displayed.
In order to navigate through the sub menus and menu items use the navigation keys as described in the 00.20.10 OVERVIEW.
Call the password entry by pressing the key symbol whenever you are in need of additional privileges.
The additional privileges expire when no key is pressed within 2 minutes. After entering a password you
might have to refresh the current menu by pressing ESC and entering the menu again in order to refresh it.
In order to confirm an entry, press OK. Exit a menu by pressing ESC.
Refer to 20 CONFIGURATION for informations regarding the menu structure.

00.90 Site Schematic
Please make a brief drawing of the connected components and wiring. This will help you, if you have to comprehend or modify the measuring system later on!
10 Basics
The Unitrans is a universal measurement instrument allowing the usage of different types of sensors.
The measurement values are stored on a non volatile memory and transmitted via GPRS to the myDataweb server.
The measurement values can also be processed using the instrument’s digital or analogue outputs.
10.10 Safety Precautions
It’s necessary to read and understand this manual before you apply the instrument.
The casing has to be cleaned only with mild cleansers.
The instrument must not be exposed to moist – neither to rain nor to hose water.
Improper wiring might harm you and/or damage the instruments!
The device has to be operated according to the specifications. Direct sunlight is to be avoided.
Special care has to be taken to avoid the influence of any magnetic or electric fields near the device.
In order to prevent malfunctions or damage to the instrument, only original parts have to be used.
Repairs and adaptations have to be done by the manufacturer.
Certain inherent dangers exist if the Unitrans is used in an improper or unintended manner (for example due to a bad connection).
Only qualified personnel, authorized by the manufacturer, may undertake the installation, electrical connection, putting into operation and maintenance.
 Never touch the electronic components.
Never connect an analogue output to a digital input!
10.20 Power Supply
 Unitrans is powered by 110...230VAC
A status LED indicates if the Unitrans is powered.

10.30 Antenna
Screw the antenna into the FME connector of the Unitrans.
Take care of a proper fit in order to prevent moist of getting into the connector.
If necessary take advantage of the optional antenna extension.
Keep in mind that the GSM signal strength might decrease when you are using the Unitrans in control cabins.
When you deploy the Unitrans observe the GPRS status indicator until the GSM signal strength is satisfying. Check the antenna placement if a GPRS connection cannot be established.
Keep in mind, that a good GSM signal strength secures a fast and proper GPRS transmission and therefore saves time and money.
10.40 Fastening
n Apply the fastening rail on the Unitrans using the provided screws.
o Fasten the Unitrans with adequate mountings.
Take care of a proper fastening!
 Obey possible fastening regulations!
Connection intakes have to look downwards.

n 10.70 Installing an SD Card
m Screw off the cover of the connection chamber.
n Insert the SD card (contacts top wards) and take care of a proper fit (push-push system).
If you insert an SD card during operation, the current settings of the Unitrans remain unchanged until it is turned off.
20 Configuration
Refer to Operation Elements for the basic handling of the operation elements.
