Installing DB2 Data Warehouse Enterprise and Standard Editions
Beforeyouinstall theproductsintheDB2Data WarehouseEnterpriseEdition ortheDB2 DataWarehouseStandard Edition,read thehardwareandsoftware requirementsinthis book(AppendixA,“Specific hardwareandsoftware requirements,”onpage25)and thedocumentationforeachproduct.
Refertothefollowingproductinstallationnotesbefore youstart the installation:
v ForDB2CubeViews, ifyouwanttoviewcubedatain anExcel
spreadsheet,youmust installIBMDB2 OfficeConnectAnalyticsEdition, whichisincludedwithDB2 CubeViews.IBMDB2OfficeConnectAnalytics Editionisnotpartoftheintegratedinstallation,however,andmustbe installedandconfiguredseparately.
v DB2CubeViewsispresentlynotsupportedonWindowsXPorWindows Server2003.
v IfyoualreadyhaveDB2installedatFixPak3 orhigher,youmust first downloadFixPak 3orhigherimagesbefore startingtheinstallationprocess.

IfyoualreadyhaveDB2installedonyoursystem,theDWEinstall program stopsallDB2processestoinstallotherproducts.Verifythatnooneis activelyusingthedatabasesonyour serverbeforestartingtheDWE installation.
v TheFixPak2+installationonWindowsisnotsilentduetotheDWEinstall programlimitations.
v Afteryouhaveinstalledall products,downloadandinstall allavailable PTFs.
v ForDB2Data WarehouseEnterpriseEditioncustomers, DB2Enterprise ServerEditionincludesapartitioningfeature.Ifyouwantto runDB2on multiplepartitions,installDB2 manuallyonall participatingservers.See theQuickBeginningsforDB2Serversbookfordetailsoninstallingpartitions.
Aftercompletingtheseinstalls,usetheDWEinstallprogramtosilently installtheremainingproductsonyourinstanceowningserver.Oncethe installationiscomplete,verifythatallpartitionserversare atthesame FixPaklevel.

Starting the installation
ToinstalltheDB2DataWarehouse EnterpriseEditionortheDB2Data WarehouseStandardEdition,followthese steps:
1. IfDB2Version8.1isinstalled,youmust firstdownloadFixPak2and FixPak2+,install FixPak2and thenproceed.IfDB2version8.1.1(FixPak 1)isinstalled,youmustfirst downloadFixPak 2andFixPak 2+,install FixPak2and thenproceed.

OnUNIXsystems, extract(unzipanduntar)theFixPakarchivedimage toalocationonyourharddrive.OnAIXandSolarisonly,someofthe installationCDscontaina compressedfile.Thisfilemustbeextractedto yourharddriveduring installation.Makesure youhaveanavailable partitionthathasatleast2 gigabytesoffreespaceavailable.
3. InserttheDB2 UDBDataWarehouseEdition-IntegratedInstallCDinyour CDROMdrive.
4. GotothedrivethatcontainstheCDtolocatetheinstallationsetupfile foryouroperatingsystem.For Windows,double-clicksetup.exetostart theinstallation.
ForUNIX,runtheDWEinstallprogrambytypingthefollowingata commandprompt:
<cd-location>/<osname>setup
Forexample,iftheCDislocatedin/cdromandtheoperatingsystemis AIX,type:
/cdrom/aixsetup
wherecdromisthedirectorywhereyoumountedtheCD.
5. IntheLanguageSelectionwindow,selecta languageandclickOK.
6. ForWindowsonly,theAutorunDisablementwindowappears ifAutorun iscurrentlyactive.Selectthecheck boxtoturnAutorunoff,andthen clickNext.Yoursystemrebootsautomatically.
