Base on the findings and the conclusion drawn from the study, the following recommendations are made.

All inmates have rights which they ought to enjoy and by withholding some of these rights, the main aim of imprisonment may not be met. The institution of prison is set up for the main purpose of rehabilitating inmates i.e. to re-socialize the inmates. Even though this purpose to a large extent is not met, there is the need for the government to review and reform the rules which guide the prison in order to conform to the international standard.
However, the findings of this study reveal that most of the aspects of these rights are been granted and protected. It will be of important to note that some aspect of this rights are still below standard, for example, bedding; were some have and other do not, supply of water not up to standard are all issues that need urgent attention.
The government alone cannot make the achievement of this function possible.
There is the need for other bodies such as the human rights watch and non-governmental organization also has role to play as they need to intensify their effort to ensure that inmate’s rights are effectively protected.
