MATHEMATICS 125—INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA 5 UNITS
Prerequisite: Mathematics 115** with a grade of “C” or better, or appropriate skill level demonstrated through the Mathematics placement process, and high school preparation.
PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE.
Students examine linear equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations and Gaussian elimination, quadratic equations, polynomials and rational expressions, exponents and radicals. Functions and their graphs, including linear, quadratic and exponential functions; logarithms, polynomials and algebraic fractions are discussed. Modeling and problem solving, conic sections, and complex numbers are presented. Note: A TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator is highly recommended for all sections of this course.
All sections of Math 125 will take the Math 125 MET Student Learning Outcomes and Objectives assessment test on Saturday afternoon, 3:30-5:45 p.m., May 30, 2015 (room location TBA). Your instructor determines the score weight of the MET in your class.
