Installation Instructions
• Mount the Single PreView® Sensor
1. Select a location for the sensor that is on the rear of the vehicle, centered, and toward the top of the truck using the appropriate sensor bracket (see Figure 31).
• Make sure the sensor is mounted perpendicular to the ground with the "PreView" logo readable (see Figure 31).
• A sensor guard bracket (PN 1504305) will help prevent any damage to the sensor when the rear loader is loading dumpsters and/or utilizing the cable.
• Either bolt or weld the brackets on the truck.

vehicle, ensure it provides a clear detection zone.
In the proposed location, temporarily attach the sensor and turn the system on to verify nothing is detected in the zone. Reposition the sensor in

2. Once the location for the sensor is tested and approved for use, the sensor may be mounted directly on the vehicle, or mounted using the supplied bracket (Figure 32).

• Mount and Install the VideoLink
The VideoLink (PN 1483927) is mounted in the cab between the camera system cable and the Extreme Monitor/
DVR system. Installation of the Buzzer Kit (PN 1483944) is recommended (see page 49 for installation instructions for the buzzer kit).
1. Disconnect the existing camera system cable from the monitor.
2. Connect the 1483926 Monitor Adaptor/Cable between the monitor and the camera cable.
3. Plug the black Deutsch connector from the 1483926 Monitor Adaptor/Cable into the VideoLink (see Figure 33).

• Install All Cables
1. Route the 70' (21.3 M) body cable (PN 1504310) along the side of the vehicle starting from the PreView® sensor at the rear of the vehicle to the cab (Figure 34).
• Leave a small service loop in the cable at the sensor at the rear of the vehicle
• Do not route cable next to heat sources
• Do not route cable in areas that may see abrasion, rock, or debris damage
• Bundle and store any excess cable away from areas that may damage it
• Secure the cable every few feet (approximately every 3 ft. or 1M) with tie wraps

(PN 1483945)
2. Connect the Cab Adaptor Cable 16' (4.9M) (PN 1483928) to the body cable and the VideoLink module (Figure 35). From the Cab Adaptor Cable, connect the red wire to +12/24 VDC Input Power, the black wire to ground, and the blue wire to reverse light power circuit. The white wire will be connected to the Buzzer after it is installed.
3. Turn on the SSV Extreme Monitor/DVR System to verify the PreView® system is operational.

NOTE
The sensor mating connector is fully waterproof if mated properly.

• Install the Buzzer
The buzzer (PN 1483944) produces a louder audible alert, along with the visual on the monitor, to the presence of objects in the path of the vehicle. The buzzer is placed in the cab. Discard the black wire, unless you need it to extend the negative (white) wire. See Figure 36 for buzzer components.
The audible part of the buzzer does not sound until 3 black/white indicator balls are displayed on the monitor. See Detection Zone Set Up for more information.

Attach the WHITE wire to the negative terminal (—) on buzzer.
Figure 37 4. Route the white wire marked "buzzer" to the buzzer location.
5. Strip the white wire and crimp one of the pink terminals from the buzzer onto the white wire from the Cab Adaptor Cable (PN 1483928). Attach the white wire to the negative (-) terminal on the buzzer. See Figure 37.
6. Strip the red wire and crimp one of the pink terminals from the buzzer onto the red wire. Attach the red wire to the positive (+) terminal on the buzzer. See Figure 37.
7. Connect the other end of the red wire to the reverse light power circuit.
8. Install the buzzer into the buzzer bracket.
9. Secure the bracket in a location in the cab where it can be heard by the vehicle's operator.

• Detection Zone Set Up
Set up and test the PreView® Single Sensor system outdoors. It is important to make sure the sensor has a clear field of view, especially if it the detection zone set up must take place indoors. Two people are needed to set up the detection zone.
1. With the parking brake applied, power up the PreView® system by turning on the vehicle's ignition and placing the transmission in reverse. DO NOT start the engine unless it is necessary to engage reverse gear.
2. Make sure the SSV Extreme Monitor/DVR System display is illuminated and the system does not detect any objects (all black/white indicator circles are off/not visible).
3. Have an assistant test the detection zone by walking in the direction of the arrows in approximately 3 ft.
(1M) increments, starting from direction 1, then 2, and finally 3 (see Figure 38).
4. Use the monitor to determine view points. Have the assistant place a traffic cone or other highly visible object at the first point of detection of the assistant on the monitor screen (Figure 38). Mark each point of detection for each arrow direction. Repeat as necessary to confirm accurate detection zone.
5. The final detection zone, as viewed through the monitor, should look similar to Figure 38. The Xs indicate the points of detection of the assistant on the monitor.
