template.

Usethecage-nut-insertiontoolorascrewdriver to install thecagenuts,or theclip nuts,asrequiredfor your rack,intotheselectedholes.

Installing the drives and filler panels

This sectionprovidestheinformationfor installingthe5.25-inchor 2.5-inchhard diskdrivesandfillerpanelsintherack-mountedserver.Completethefollowing steps:

1. Onmodels with5.25-inchharddiskdrives,reinstallthe5.25-inchdrivesand EMC shieldsthatyouremovedinstep4 onpage 7.

2. Onmodels with2.5-inchharddiskdrives,installtheharddiskdrivesandfillers thatyouremoved instep 4onpage 7.

3. Onmodels withhot-swapharddiskdrive bays,installthehot-swapfiller panels thatcomeintheconversion kitintoallemptyharddiskdrivebays.

4. Onmodels withsimple-swapharddiskdrivebays,insertthetrimpanelsfor the harddiskdrivebaysinthenew bezelasshown inFigure21.Besuretoinstall theshieldedtrimpanel,whichhasEMCmetalstripsonit,sothatit coversthe fourharddiskdrivebays.

a. Align thetabs onthebackofthetrimpanelswiththetabopeningsonthe frontof thebezel.

When thewarranty serviceinvolvestheexchangeofa Machineorpart,theitem IBMoritssubcontractorortheresellerreplacesbecomesIBM'spropertyandthe replacement becomesyours.Yourepresentthatallremoveditemsaregenuineand unaltered.Thereplacement maynotbenew,butwillbeingoodworkingorderand at leastfunctionallyequivalent totheitemreplaced.Thereplacementassumesthe warranty servicestatusof thereplaced item.

YourAdditionalResponsibilities

You agree:

1. before IBMor itssubcontractoror theresellerexchanges aMachineorpart,to removeallfeatures,parts, options,alterations,andattachmentsnotunder warranty serviceandensurethattheMachineisfreeofanylegalobligationsor restrictions thatpreventitsexchange;

2. to obtainauthorizationfromtheownertohave IBMor itssubcontractororthe resellerservice aMachinethatyoudonotown;

3. whereapplicable,beforeserviceisprovided:

a. follow theservice requestproceduresthatIBMoritssubcontractororits resellerprovides;

b. backup andsecureallprograms, data,andfundscontainedintheMachine;

c. informIBMoritssubcontractorortheresellerofchangesintheMachine's location;

4. to provideIBMoritssubcontractoror thereseller withsufficientandsafeaccess to yourfacilitiesto permitIBMtofulfillitsobligations;

5. to allowIBMoritssubcontractoror thereseller toinstallmandatoryengineering changes,suchasthoserequiredforsafety;

6. whenthetypeof warrantyservicerequiresthatyou deliverafailingMachineto IBM,youagreeto shipit suitablypackaged,asIBMspecifies,to alocationIBM designates.AftertheMachinehasbeenrepairedor exchanged,IBMwillreturn
