Report/View Ranges

At the time that you generate a web log report, you have the option to specify the date or time range within the log file on which to report. In the Range tab of the Create Report window, you can specify your own or select from a drop-down list of predefined time and date ranges.

Note: While WebTrends attempts to analyze and report on the specified Report Range within the log file processed, you need to ensure that the specified range corresponds to existing dates in the log file. For example, if the analyzed log file contains data for only the last week of activity, WebTrends is not be able to provide meaningful monthly averages.

The following definitions apply to the Report/View Ranges table:

Quarters are divided as follows:

First Quarter January 1 - March 31 Second

April 1 - June 30 Third Quarter July 1 - September 30 Fourth Quarter October 1 - December 31 6 month periods are divided as follows:

January 1 - June 30 July 1 - December 31

Range Definition

All of Log Reports on all data in the log file.

Specify Date/Time

Reports on the time frame specified from Start Time and Date to End Time and Date. Time formats should be specified in military time with hours, minutes and seconds (e.g., 14:30:00). Dates should be specified using the mm/dd/yy format (e.g., 01/10/97).

Last 15 minutes

Reports on the activity that has taken place in the last 15 minutes.

Last hour Reports on the activity that has taken place in the last hour.

Last 12 hours Reports on the activity that has taken place in the last 12 hours.

Today Reports on activity for the current day from midnight to 11:59:59.

Yesterday Reports on the activity for yesterday from midnight to 11:59:59.

This week Reports on activity for the current week from Sunday up to the point the report is started.

Last week Reports on activity for the last week from Sunday to Saturday.

These 2 weeks Reports on activity from Sunday of last week up to the point the report is started.

Last 2 weeks Reports on activity for the last two full weeks.

This month Reports on activity for the current month up to the point the report is started.

Last month Reports on activity for the last month.

This quarter Reports on activity for the current quarter up to the point the report is started.

Last quarter Reports on activity for the last quarter.

Range Definition

This 6 months Reports on activity for the current 6 month period.

Last 6 months Reports on the activity for the previous 6 month period.

This year (by equal 4-week periods)

Reports on activity for the current year, starting Jan. 1st, up to the point the report is started. Data is graphed with each bar representing a 4-week period.

This year (by months)

Reports on activity for the current year, starting Jan. 1st, up to the point the report is started. Data is graphed with each bar representing one month.

Last year (by equal 4-week periods)

Reports on activity for the year previous to the current year. Data is graphed with each bar representing a 4-week period.

Last year (by months)

Reports on activity for the year previous to the current year. Data is graphed with each bar representing one month.

Last day of log

Reports on all activity from midnight to 11:59:59 for the day including the very last entry in the log file.

Previous day of log

Reports on all activity from midnight to 11:59:59 for the day previous to the day of the very last entry in the log file.

Last week of log

Reports on activity from Sunday to Saturday for the week including the very last entry in the log file.

Previous week of log

Reports on activity from Sunday to Saturday for the full week previous to the week of the very last entry in the log file.

Last 2 weeks of log

Reports on activity from Sunday to Saturday for the 2 weeks including the very last entry in the log file.

Previous 2 weeks of log

Reports on activity from Sunday to Saturday for the 2 full weeks previous to the week of the very last entry in the log file.

Last month of log

Reports on activity from the first day of the month to the last entry in the log for the month including the very last

Reports on activity from January 1 to December 31 for the year previous to the year of the very last entry in the log file. The data is graphed with each bar representing a 4-week period.

Previous year of log (by months)

Reports on activity from January 1 to December 31 for the year previous to the year of the very last entry in the log file. The data is graphed with each bar representing one month.

First day of log

Reports on activity for the full day from midnight to 11:59:59 for the day beginning with the very first entry in the log file.

First week of log

Reports on activity for the week from Sunday to Saturday for the week beginning with the very first entry in the log file.

First 2 weeks Reports on activity for the 2 weeks from Sunday to

If you choose the Specify Date/Time option, the following fields become active:

Note: If you access your log file remotely through ftp or http, these fields read “N/A.”

Start Time Specify a beginning time for the report range. This field uses a 24-hour clock (military time).

Start Date Specify a beginning date for the report range.

End Time Specify an ending time for the report range. This field also uses a 24-hour clock (military time).

End Date Specify an ending date for the report range.
