Searching for Contacts

Use the contact search to find a specific contact. In this process, the global and your private address book are involved in the search. You can use either the contact's first or last name as search criterion.

The Find Contact view offers the following options:

• Searching for a contact.

• Searching for a contact and adding that person to All Contacts, your private directory.

• Searching for a contact and calling that person directly.

4.3.1 How to Find a Contact

How to find a contact:

Step by Step

1) From the OpenScape Mobile widget, tap the Settings icon. 2) Scroll the menu bar to Contacts and tap.

3) Tap Find Contact to open the search dialog.

4) Specify in the Enter name of the contact to search input field the first or last

name of the contact you wish to find or the person’s initials.

5) Use the combo box to select the address book you wish to search (i.e., Global

Directory, Private Contact List, or Phone Address Book).

6) Tap OK to start the search.

The results are displayed when the search is complete.

NOTICE: If you enter initials and the ensuing search delivers too

many hits, you may have to repeat searching with a larger number of initials.

4.3.2 How to Find and Add a Contact

How to find and add a contact to All Contacts, your private contact contact list:

Step by Step

1) From the OpenScape Mobile widget, tap the Settings icon. 2) Scroll the menu bar to Contacts and tap.

3) Tap Find Contacts.

4) Specify in the Enter name of the contact to search input field the first or last

name of the contact you wish to find or the person’s initials.

5) Use the combo box to select the address book you wish to search (i.e., Global

Directory, Private Contact List, or Phone Address Book).

6) Tap OK to start the search.

7) Perform a long tap on the desired contact from the resulting list to open the

associated context menu.

8) Tap Add contact to close the dialog and add the contact to All Contacts.

4.3.3 How to Find and Call a Contact

1) From the OpenScape Mobile widget, tap the Settings icon. 2) Scroll the menu bar to Contacts and tap.

3) Tap Find Contacts.

4) Specify in the Enter name of the contact to search input field the first or last

name of the contact you wish to find or the person’s initials.

5) Use the combo box to select the address book you wish to search (i.e., Global

Directory, Private Contact List, or Phone Address Book).

6) Tap OK to start the search.

7) Perform a long tap on the desired contact from the resulting list to open the

associated context menu.

8) Tap Call to initiate the call.

NOTICE: All calls start out as the voice calls and video can be

added by both parties once the call is active.

The OpenScape Mobile device receiving the added video can:

• accept the incoming video, without sending video (resulting in an incoming-only video call)

• accept the video without sending its own video back to the calling party (one-way video call)

• rejecting the video (voice-only call).

INFO: Once video call is established, the transmitting video is

shown in the top left corner of the screen, whereas the receiving video is shown as a full screen in the background.

c) During the video call, tap anywhere on the screen to show the controls

and status bars translucent, but enabled.

Tapping the screen again, or not touching the screen for a couple of seconds, the controls will be hidden again.

The following controls are supported:

• Camera switch button (down left corner) - tap to switch between front-

or rear-facing camera

• Video Quality button (up right corner) - tap to adjust the video quality

(Very High, High, Medium or Low).

1) From the OpenScape Mobile widget, tap the Settings icon. 2) Scroll the menu bar to Contacts and tap.

3) Tap Find Contacts.

4) Specify in the Enter name of the contact to search input field the first or last

name of the contact you wish to find or the person’s initials.

5) Use the combo box to select the address book you wish to search (i.e., Global

Directory, Private Contact List, or Phone Address Book).

6) Tap OK to start the search.

7) Perform a long tap on the desired contact from the resulting list to open the

associated context menu.

8) Tap Open to display the details.

Details are provided such as the name and available phone numbers, the e-mail address, the time zone as well as the location and the note, which can be specified for presence setting.
