1. Care Plans which take into account children's health, wellbeing and safety needs should be established for each child in consultation with their parent's.
These should provide staff with a clear plan of how they will support and meet the child's needs. Care Plans should be reviewed and adjusted as the child's needs change. Standard 6: Support and Development - National Care Standards early education and childcare.

We have made this recommendation again and make comment in Quality Statement 1.2.
2. Children's personal learning plans should be further developed so that all children have a meaningful account of their progress and learning at nursery.

3. The provider should ensure that Child Protection guidelines are clear about the process staff should follow if they have concerns about a child's welfare.

Staff had received child protection training to help them become familiar with the child protection procedure. This recommendation was met.
4. The provider must ensure that the guidelines and recording process used by staff for the administration of medication take account of best practice guidelines and ensure they are used effectively by staff. Standard 3 Health and Wellbeing - National Care Standards early education and childcare.

New medication guidance had been developed and was being consistently used by staff. This recommendation was met.
5. The provider must review management of the entry/exit system to ensure that the door remains secure at all times. Standard 2: A Safe Environment -National Care Standards early education and childcare.

Signs had been placed on the front door to remind parents to ensure the door was secure at all times. Reminders were given in e-mails and newsletters. On our two visits to the nursery the entry/exit was safe and secure. This recommendation was met.
6. Staff should build up topic based resources to enhance children's play and learning experiences. Standard 5: Quality of Experience - National Care

Staff confirmed that there were a number of boxes of resources for children to access. The children's library had been catalogued to ensure that children and staff could find reading resources when necessary. This recommendation was met.
7. The provider should establish an effective system for identifying and monitoring staff development needs. Standard 12 2.5: Confidence in Staff -National Care Standards early education and childcare.

Staff had attended some training since our last inspection. This recommendation was met. We comment on training in Quality Statement 3.3.
8. We recommend that the Manager continues to develop her leadership role and supports quality assurance processes and staff development within the nursery. Standard 14: Well Managed Nursery - National Care Standards early education and childcare.

9. The provider should establish a system to effectively monitor the quality of staffs work and the service as a whole. This process should inform and support and development of practice in the nursery. Standard 14.7 - Well Managed Service - National Care Standards early education and childcare.

Some work had started to achieve this recommendation. We have said this
recommendation is met and comment further on monitoring and auditing in Quality Statement 4.4.
10. 10. The provider should establish a system that ensures policies and processes are upto- date and reflect best practice guidelines. Standard 14.2:

11. The provider must ensure that the SHANARRI wellbeing indicators from GIRFEC are referred to when assessing the quality of the service delivered to the children. Standard 13: Improving the Service - national care standards early education and childcare.
12. To provide an accurate and meaningful overview of the service, the
provider should complete the self-assessment more fully and involve staff in this process. Standard 14: Well Managed Service - National Care Standards early education and childcare.

11. There was reference to SHANARRI and GIRFEC throughout the nursery. This recommendation was met but we make further comment on the use of positive outcomes in this report.
12. The self assessment for the nursery still needed to be further developed to reflect current practice and achievement in the nursery. We comment on this in Quality Statement 4.4 and have made this recommendation again.
