6.1 Trap Support engineering (Not Applicable)
CONRACTOR shall carry out detailed engineering for the traps at Akri flowstation and Kwale Gas Plant respectively, as indicated in the lunching & receiving trap area layouts.
Engineering shall include the necessary FEED engineering including design optimisation and finalisation, detailed engineering including procurement, supply, construction, controls, testing and any other engineering work that CONTRACTOR may require to comply with the Scope of Work.
CONTRACTOR shall develop the engineering on the basis of the Basic Design Document included in the Contract, and shall design structures to take care of all dead, live, test, impact, vibration, pipe expansion, thermal and friction, bundle pull, wind, trasportation, lifting and erection loads and forces.
Engineering shall be in accordance with “Design specification for civil/structural works (doc. No. 3214.10.BASP.33001)
CONTRACTOR shall prepare all necessary engineering documentation required for the Work, as specified in the Contract documents.
CONTRACTOR shall perform the detailed engineering in accordance with its own engineering procedures amended to suit the requirements of Project Coordination Procedures.
CONTRACTOR’s engineering activities shall generally include but not limited to the following:
i) Prepare drawing list and document index
ii) Implement document control of CONTRACTOR, Sub CONTRACTOR drawings and documents using a computer data base in accordance with COMPANY requirements
iii) Prepare QA/QC procedures
iv) Review drawings and documents for safety
v) Prepare data sheets and specifications for material requisitions vi) Provide material take-off and continuous monitoring of material
changes
vii) Coordinate and verify Sub CONTRACTOR detailed engineering and documentation
viii) Prepare document for Sub Contractor(s)
ix) Prepare and issue all calculation associated drawing.Provide assistance required to allow COMPANY to obtain approval from Authorities at all stage of design and construction prior to start up of the construction activities.
x) Provide access to facilities, data tools and results to COMPANY for carrying out detailed engineering safety and technical audit.
xi) Prepare final documentation.
6.2 Trap Support Construction (Not Applicable)
CONTRACTOR shall provide all necessary civil, structural and earth works for the realisation of the platforms.
All works shall be conforming to the latest requirement of standards, specifications and local related statutory regulation.
All material shall be from new stock.
All erection shall be supervised by competent trained personal fully experienced in erecting structural steelwork.
CONTRACTOR shall provide erection method statement and all documents shall be submitted for approval by COMPANY prior to commencement of field work.
Procurement and erection works shall be in accordance with followings project specifications:

6.3 Structural Pipe Supports
CONTRACTOR shall provide the COMPANY with a detailed engineering and construction procedure for all necessary pipe supports.
In particular the work to be performed shall include, but not be limited, to the following:
a) Prefabrication in accordance with piping sketches and relevant standard specifications
b) Materials handling and transport of prefabrication pieces from the place of storage to the site.
c) Erection of pipe supports, ladders, walkways, etc. including partial fabrication of any scaffolding as required, and testing, according to drawings, standards and specifications.
6.4 Surface Preparation and Painting
Unless otherwise stated, all the aboveground pipeline section and all aboveground supports shall be painted.
The CONTRACTOR shall provide:
a) Supply of paint products, blasting and cleaning materials, consumables and any relevant equipment required for their application.
b) Painting (according to the relevant specifications and standards), including:
Collection from storage, handling and transport to the site of all painting materials
All sandblasting and cleaning of surfaces to be painted
Painting
Touch-up as required 6.5 Anchor Blocks
If piping stess analysis indicates that anchor blocks are required to restrict above ground pipe movement, which may occur due to pressure and temperature changes in the pipeline, specially designed anchor flanges encased in concrete anchor blocks shall be installed underground on the main line, before the pipeline is brought above ground.
CONTRACTOR shall provide:
a) Supply reinforcing steel, concrete works and materials, etc., handling and transport of prefabricated pieces from the place of storage to the site.
b) Construct concrete structures, foundations, piling, as required.
c) Supply and installation of anchor bolts (where required).
d) Erection of all necessary scaffolding (where required) e) Supply and erection of structural steel.
f) Grouting.
7 SUPPLY
7.1 COMPANY Supplied Items
The line pipe shall be supplied by the CONTRACTOR. Also, the coating of the line pipe shall be the responsibilty of the Contractor, as coating is part of the scope of work.
7.2 CONTRACTOR Supplied Items
All materials required to realise the project shall be supplied by the CONTRACTOR.
The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the overall procurement philosophy and timely delivery of quipment and material to the construction site, within the project schedule.
The CONTRACTOR shall assure the maximun possible standardization when purchasing the various items appertaining to each plant system. The utilization of the COMPANY’S List of Supplier shall be mandatory.
The M.T.O. attached to the tender documents shows indicatevily the materials, regarding pipeline system, to be procured, CONTRACTOR shall perform the detail engeeniring and provides for the final list of materials and quantities.
CONTRACTOR shall also procure all items and materials regarding all platforms such as: steel pipes, pressings, beams, floor supports, grid floor pannels, handrailings and all other permanent and consumable materials required to complete the work.
The Procurement activities to be developed by the CONTRACTOR shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following:
- Section and submission to the COMPANY for approval of the list of SUBCONTRACTORS that the CONTRACTOR proposes to utilize for the project.
- Identification and quantity calculations of equipments and materials to be purchased, including spare parts.
- Material and equipment requisition preparation.
- Issue of inquires to Suppliers/SUBCONSTRUCTORS.
- Issue of purchase orders.
- Expediting of purchase orders.
- Factory inspection.
- Supply of test certificates and conformity certificates.
- Clearance of all the material and equipment through costums.
- Trasport to work site.
7.3 PROCUREMENT
The CONTRACTOR shall procure all items and materials necessary for the works, according to the specifications provided or stated and/or the requirements listed below.
Line pipes
The 12” Line Pipes shall be supplied by Contractor
The characteristics of the Line Pipes supplied by Contractor shall be as follows:
Total length: 15,000 metres
Pipe length (average): 12.2 m
Manufacture: SMLS
Nominal diameter: 12”
Constant internal diameter: 304.9mm
Wall thickness: 11.1 mm/ 12.7
Material: API 5L – X65
Coating: Coating of line pipes shall be Contractors scope of work.
The technical characteristics and quantity of line pipes to be used for L.R. Bends shall be in accordance with project data Sheet .
Flanges and fittings
The CONTRACTOR shall supply all flanges and fittings (Elbows, Bends, Reducers, Insulating Joints, etc.) necessary for the works. In all cases these shall conform to the rating and
standards of the pipeline system.
Bends
All pipeline bends shall be produced by induction bending. Minimum bend radius shall be 5D (where D is the pipe O.D.). All bends shall be supplied with straight tangent ends at least 500 mm in length. Bends shall comply with requirements of 20337.SLI.SPM.FUN. and project specification 3214.10.BTST.16528.
Fibre Optic Intrusion Detection System
The CONTRACTOR shall supply the Fibre Optic Intrusion & Leakage Detection System (complete with fibre optic cable, interface control equipment, accessories, etc.) in accordance with project specifications and standards.
Pipeline Instrumentation
The CONTRACTOR shall supply all instruments required for the complete installation of the pipeline (including instrumentation for the launching and receiving traps, Shut-Off Valve, pressure switches, etc), in accordance with Project requirements and Specifications.
Warning Tape
The CONTRACTOR shall supply PWC warning tape, the tape shall be in accordance with the project specification.
7.4 Spare Philosophy for Construction Spare quantities are defined as follows:
