The SY01 Control unit clocks and synchronises the amplifiers.

The SYN plug connector enables several devices to be synchronised (see chapter B 1.5).

Components on the SY01 D DIP switch

Use the triple DIP switch to select cold/warm start and

master / slave setup.

D SYN plug connector

With more complex measurement systems, the DMCplus must be synchronized via this plug connector.

Assignment of the SYN plug connector:

housing Protective earth

Note:

The device has been equipped with a lithium battery to protect the data memory against power failures. The battery’s typical service life is approx. 5 years; with a memory expansion to 500.000 measured values, the battery life is reduced to about 2 years.

On the internal plug strip, there is a red label indicating the date for replacement.

2.2 Amplifiers

B-37

The amplifier plug-in units are autonomous components that acquire measurement signals from the transducers, digitise them and make them available to be queried by the CP03 Central processing unit.

They have been designed for different transducer types and are therefore differing with regard to their construction, e.g.:

D for DC-voltage or carrier-frequency operation, D with or without transducer supply,

D with different transmission characteristics.

Each amplifier plug-in unit has been designed according to the dual-channel principle using two 15-pin input sockets. Above each of them, there is one LED (two-colour LED) indicating the operating mode.

– Explanation of the LED colours during device start-up:

RED: Amplifier addressed (about 100ms) GREEN: Functional check (about 100ms) OFF: Amplifier synchronisation (about 3s) – Explanation of the LED colours after device start-up:

GREEN: Amplifier ACTIVE and in running order.

OFF: Amplifier not active, zero or calibration signal switched on, synchronisation missing with device set to SLAVE (see SYN instruction).

RED: Transducer missing or not suitable, transducer not connected correctly, wrong amplifier

programming with regard to the transducer (see ASA instruction), measuring range OVERFLOW.
