Third eye vision

Richard Strassman’s research on dimethyltryptamime and the pineal gland has shown that the pineal gland contains the enzymes necessary for production of dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in abundance, that use of DMT is associated with visual hallicination and mystical experiences in over 400 subjects. I am not a neurochemist, so I will simply give a layman’s understanding of the issues based on simple inferences. First let me give a speculative picture what may be happening and then I will give support for this picture with some support- ing evidence. The visual cortex is known to receive unidirectional signals from eye that begins with activation of neurotransmitters behind the retinal wall. Imagine now that the pineal gland is an eye?like device which also transmits neurotransmitters to the visual cortex. In this picture, the visual cortex re- ceives images from three different channels, the two eyes and the pineal gland. Since I am specifically interested in 4?dimensional sight, let me focus on the pineal gland. The actual Universe is four?dimensional, and the sight of the pineal gland may be purely electromagnetic and four?dimensional, and dream- like. The phenomenon of daylight hallucination can perhaps be explained by superposition of third?eye induced images over normal vision in the visual cor- tex. The important issue in this picture is that there is no subjectivity: what is seen is ”external” to the subject, whether seen by usual or third eye vision. First, the human pineal gland is capable of producing DMT. Second, in many cases, those who normally do not see mystical or hallucinatory, coherent visions do so under the influence of oral treatment of DMT. Third, there is specificity to the pathways of DMT in the human body - they are not common molecules outside of pathways in the brain near the pineal gland. Fourth, there are many cases of spiritual vision without the introduction of oral treatment of DMT. Now, according to S4 physics, the Universe is actually four?dimensional and electromagnetism is four?dimensional. The above careful observations provide some rational basis for the theory that indeed the third eye is the pineal gland and DMT acts similarly to retinal neurotransmitters to the visual cortex, from the pineal gland. Thus the third eye chakra, which is the sixth chakra according to the eastern spiritual traditions, can be identified with the pineal gland. All

72 CHAPTER 10. THIRD EYE VISION this is not new, and has been told in various ways. The novelty in what I have been saying is that there is nothing subjective to be experienced through this organ, for the Universe is fourdimensional.

Speed of light. The consensus opinion on what constitutes light comes from quantum mechanics. We believe that light is composed of photons, objects which have characteristics both of particles and of waves. A different description may also make sense: light could be a non-local dynamic object. For example, if gauge theory is consistent with data, photons could be described simply as sections of principle bundles on the 4-dimensional sphere. These are global sections, and while they have to reproduce the results seen from the quantum experiments, they do not have to be local objects at all. Now we can explain the red-shift that Hubble used in 1929 to conclude that the universe is expanding geometrically, as a characteristic of constant-velocity objects on an S4 universe. There are many possibilities, and I am not yet sure which one could be correct. It’s possible that the redshift is a measure of how quickly the physical subspace itself is evolving in a static four-dimensional universe. So objects that are close in four dimensions are not only distant in three dimensions, but we are making the assumption that it is the light that is moving while it is the physical subspace that is moving.

Intuitively, just as the Hubble’s law can be explained in terms of an ex- panding 3-dimensional sphere that Friedmann described in 1922, it can also be explained in terms of an evolving embedding of a 3-sphere in a 4-sphere. The intrinsic distances of the 3-sphere could be expanding according to Hubble’s law objects that may even have fixed relative positions on the 4-sphere. The S4 model would have the analogy of an expanding string on a 2-sphere which are constrained to pass through a set of points that are moving on the 4-sphere in constant velocity in an absolute coordinate system. The distance function be- tween two points in an absolute coordinate system would have to be periodic in time and inertial, but the distance via the subspace would have to show velocity proportional to the distance. This is perhaps achievable by a simple diffusion model on a 4-sphere.

More specifically, imagine that the 88 constellations are points on a 4-sphere at some initial time, and they begin moving each given a fixed amount of ki- netic energy. Assuming for simplicity that they are like hard billiard balls, given sufficient time, they will be arranged around the sphere in some uniform-like distribution. Now imagine a 3-dimensional subset that was constrained to con- tain these points. This would result if we assume that this subspace is defined in terms of the speed of expansion of a ring in a standard heat diffusion. Heuristi- cally, in the standard heat flow, the standard deviation expands like the square root of time. The relative distances along the subspace - assuming their absolute velocity is constant relative to each other would be a function liked(t) =Ct3/2
