9. Either:
a. press the WHITE key to end the session, or b. select the next favorite list you want to
rename.
NOTE
The EPG information is not always available. Sometimes the service provider (who sends the EPG information) supplies only the program name, the now/next infor-mation or sometimes nothing at all. EchoStar has no influence on this matter.
Make sure the local time is set otherwise you can not view EPG information because it needs the correct time (Refer to the Local Time menu).
1. Use the EPG key to access the main EPG menu.
2. Allow the receiver to collect the EPG information for the selected channel.
3. Read the available help text for information.
4. Use the keys to select a channel.
5. Use the keys to select the programs.
6. Use the key to return to actual time in the EPG window.
7. Use the i-key to shift between detailed program information and the main EPG menu.
8. Use the OK key to view the selected channel.

3.1. TO SET A TIMER
CAUTION
Note that the VCR timer does not start or program your video recorder (VCR). You have to set the timer of your VCR also to the same time as on the receiver. Please refer to the user’s guide of your VCR how to record from a satellite receiver. On quite a lot of VCRs you have to select the so called external channel (E1)
1. On the RCU, press the EPG key.
2. If EPG data is available, select a program in the future (right of the red line in the EPG window);
3. If no EPG data is available, select the correct channel.
4. Read the available help text for information.
5. On the RCU press the YELLOW key.
6. Select the required timer.
7. When the timer appears, if necessary:
8. Change the date:
a. use thekey, to go to the Date;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press the OK key to change the date;
d. in the calendar, select the required date;
e. press the OK key to return to the timer.
NOTE
Be aware that the shown EPG start/stop time might not be the same as the actual start/stop times, because of last minute program changes.
9. Change the start time:
a. use thekey, to go to the Start Time;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to set the hours;
d. press the OK key to go to the minutes;
e. press thekeys to set the minutes.
10. Change the stop time:
a. use thekey, to go to the Stop Time;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to set the hours;

11. Change the repetition rate:
a. use thekey, to go to the Period;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to set the repetition.
12. Save the recording in a specific (favorite) list:
a. use thekey, to go to the Favorite List;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to set the (favorite) list.
13. Save the recording as locked or hidden a. use thekey, to go to the Parental Lock;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to select Lock or Hide;
d. press the OK key to activate the setting.
Note that a red bullet appears in selection.
14. Change the status:
a. use thekey, to go to the Status;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekeys to set the status;
15. Save the timer:
a. use thekey, to go to the Store Settings;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press the OK key to confirm the settings.
16. Note the clock that appeared in your program.
17. Do not forget to program also your VCR if you have set a VCR timer.
NOTE
You cannot set a (EPG-based) timer in the past or on a program that has already begun.
If the timer screen does not disappear, you have set a timer in the past or for a running program. Revise either date, start or stop time to a time in the future.
18. For a program that has already begun:
a. set the timer as usual and change the start time to 00:00;
b. use the key, to go to the Store Settings;
c. press the OK key to confirm the settings.
19. Note that:
a. the DVR InfoBanner momentarily appears with a red blinking indicator;
b. the display on the receiver shows Hdd.

3.4. TO SELECT THE ALTERNATE AUDIO
1. On the RCU:
a. press the EPG key;
b. press the GREEN key;
c. select from the list: Timers;
d. press the OK key.
2. Select the applicable timer and press the OK key.
3. Change the status:
a. use the key, to go to the status;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press thekey to set the status to inactive.
4. Delete the timer:
a. use the key, to go to the Store Settings;
b. read the available help text for information;
c. press the OK key to confirm the deletion.
1. On the RCU, press the i-key.
2. If available, allow the receiver to collect the EPG information for the selected channel.
3. If the i-button in the InfoBanner is shown, use the i-key on the RCU to shift between the detailed program information and the InfoBanner.
4. On the RCU, press the EXIT key to remove the InfoBanner from the screen (only in TV-mode).
1. On the InfoBanner, find the alt audio symbol.
2. On the RCU, press the key.
3. In the Alt. Audio pop-up menu, select the required alternate audio.
Note that alternate audio information is provided by the service provider.
4. On the RCU, press the key.
