Notes from the SPL
Electronics weekend is coming up, and I’m guessing not all of you know what it is. It’s not just an outing were we can bring our electronics to use the whole weekend, but it’s where the troop decides what we will be doing the whole year for outings and activities. Be sure to do research and then bring your ideas for outings and activities you would like to see happen. At the
Electronics weekend we discuss and vote on everyone’s choices.
At the 1/23 meeting, you will meet with your patrols to discuss where to find information on outings. You can also use that meeting to share ideas you've found so far. Please don’t wait until the last minute, start looking for ideas now. ~ Victor
Eagle Cave Dec.13-14
Like my mom always says, "If you came home clean you didn't have any fun!" Well... we came home filthy! We crawled, we climbed, we explored, we even ate fried chicken and Sloppy Joe's. Our caving experience was extraordinary. Scouts took side adventures to
explore the XYZ Hole and the 7 Layers Hole. I was not as adventurous as some of my peers, but I did see a pretty cool bat, chillin' upside down on the cave ceiling. Even though it was cold outside the temperature in the cave was a balmy 55-60ºF. We slept on cots in the cave wrapped in

Court of Honor
/Christmas
Party-
Dec. 19
A mini COH was held, with Paul and Skylar as Masters of Ceremonies, before our annual Christmas party to close out a successful year of scouting with promotions and accolades! Let's give a big shout out to David for achieving Rank of Star. Next round of applause goes to Levi and Daniel for their achievements of yet another Eagle Palm. [clapping clapping clapping]. Before we could eat and give gifts we also acknowledged our new Leadership Core, plus many merit badges were completed and these too were handed out. ON TO THE FOOD... A big thank you to Mrs. Harvey for bringing excellent Sloppy Joe's, and everyone for bringing snacks and treats to pass. A wealth of gifts were shared, including a 3ft box of cookies and someone was even lucky enough to get a stapler! Our
Historian, Eagan's pictorial of 2013's great activities was the highlight of the evening! Keep on keeping on in 2014! ~ Clay

A Word from your Quartermaster
There are still 3 tents missing currently (you know who you are), as well as a few tarps on top of that. We hope to get all this equipment back within the next two troop meetings so that we can have a great year of fun while using our gear to

whether the position Patrol Quartermaster is right for you. At the Electronics outing in January, we will be looking at the proper cleaning and storage of patrol equipment, as well as how we can use our gear without damaging it. Anyone that has any questions on the Patrol equipment or the position Patrol Quartermaster, you can email me, or you can contact our equipment coordinator, Mr. Kutz at [email protected]. I look forward to the new year that’s full of possibilities for our troop. ~Chris
A message from our librarian
I am in the process of organizing our Library and I know that several books are missing from our collection. If you have seen any the following books in your home please check if they belong to the troop and bring them to the next troop meeting you attend. Here are the books we are missing: Architecture and Landscape Architecture (3 copies), Astronomy, Citizenship in the Community (2copies), Citizenship in the Nation, Computers, Geology, Metalwork,
Nuclear Science (3 copies), Oceanography, Orienteering, Painting, Personal Management, Soil and Water Conservation, Woodwork (2 copies). Thanks in advance.~ Rory

job is easier and so we all have tons of fun. I look forward to being your Patrol Leader and know we'll have a great scouting year. ~ Hunter
Dragon Patrol
I believe that this experience as being patrol leader should be as fun and painless as possible for both of us. The fact that I'm patrol leader both scares me and gives me the chance to prove to my leadership ability. I am very excited to be patrol leader and will do my best to make it fun for everyone. ~ Paul
Panda Patrol
Our main accomplishment for our patrol is to get the honor Patrol award. My ASPL Gabe and I, along with any other boy in our patrol would be glad to help any new scouts towards their rank advancement. I am
currently working towards Star rank, and would like our patrol to keep focused on their rank advancement. ~ Joe
