WhenterroristsoftheRedCommandomovementtookhostage three diplomatsfromthe UnitedStatesembassyinthe Peruviancapitalof Lima, a stealthplanewasdispatched to pinpointtheirwhereabouts.Thisplanewas subsequently shotdownsomewhereovertheCordilleramountain rangein easternPeru. knownasthe'Black SkullGang', hasbeenattackingpassengerships travelling fromMalaysia tothePhilippine capital,Manila. Inthe past threemonthsthey have attackednolessthantwenty-fourshipsand murderedfifteenpeople. It's

your jobtoputastopto theirmurderousexploits.

Arming The AH-73M

Afterselecting acampaign youwillbe presented withanarmarmentselection screen.Eachcampaignhasaweapondefaultselectionbut hereyouhavethe opportunity ofarmingtoyour personal preference. Use the D-Button to toggle throughthe various options ofmissiles,whenyou haveaselectionthatyouare happywith highlightOKandpressButtonC.Ifhowever youwishrevertback tothecampaigndefaultsettingsimply highlightRESETpressButtonC,then highlightandselectOK.Youwillnowbereadyto carryoutyoumission- goodluck!

Cockpit Instrumentation

ThecockpitofyourAH-73M Thunderhawkattack helicopter containsthevery latest,state-of-the-artinstrumentation. These 'multi-functional'monitors enableyoutospendlessofyour timeactuallycontrollingthe helicopterand moretimeengagingincombat.

4.WEAPONSELECTION

This displaysyourcurrentweapon. Whenallofyourmissilesandbombsare spentyourweaponselectionwillautomaticallyrevertto ChainGun.

5.RADARDETECTIONWARNINGDISPLAY

Thisdisplay flashesambertowarnyouwhenanenemyistrackingyour flightpath. Itwillturn redwhenyour exactpositionhasbeenpinpointedand theenemyhas lockedontoyouwithitsweapons.Abeepingsoundwillbring theRDWLto your attention.Thedisplayisshownastheword LOCKabovethe compass.

6.MISSION RESULT INDICATOR

Whenyou havesuccessfullycompletedall objectivesina mission'Mission Complete'willflashgreenonthe screendirectlybelowthe compass.If

however youfailyour mission then'Mission Failed'willflashredonthescreen.

Onceoneoftheseindicatorsislityouare free to leave the mission zone.

7.HEADINGINDICATOR

Thered bar locatedabove your compassindicatesthe courseyou mustfollow to your PrimaryTargets.

1.ARMOURLEVEL

Thisdisplay indicatesthelevelofarmourintegrity.

2.MAPDISPLAY

TheMapDisplayprovides anoverhead viewoftheterrain acrosswhich you are flying aswellasdisplayingallgroundobjects.

Primary targets areshownascoloureddots. Youwillalso seeadottedlineon themapwhichindicatesthe perimeter of the Mission Zone.

3.RADAR

This displaysallshort-range threats within the Mission Zone.Ground-based threatsareshownby reddots,airborne threatsasyellow dotsandmissiles as whitedots.

QUITTING THE GAME

OBJECTIVES

Youroverridingobjectiveistosuccessfullycompleteevery missionineach Campaign. Campaigns canbeselectedinanyorder,but missionsmustbe completedchronologically. SomeCampaignsare easierthanothers, butyou'll havetotrythemout to see which.

Ifyousuccessfullycompleteamission,the Debrief Screenwillappear.

Thisshowshowskilfulyouareby the useofpercentagesand pointsawarded.

Abonuswillbeawardedifyouachieve theMainObjectiveinaparticular mission.

Followingthesuccessfulcompletionofa mission,ifyou have performed above andbeyondthecallof duty,youwillbe presented withamedal andwillthen bereturned to theBriefingRoomtobe briefedonyour nextmission.

UponthesuccessfulcompletionofanentireCampaign, youwillbepresented with aCampaignRibbonandwillthenbereturnedtotheCampaignSelection Screentochooseyour nextCampaign.

Ifyou donot destroyallyour Primary Targets/achieve your Mission Objectives buthavemanagedtoflyoutofthe Mission Zone, the Debrief Screenwill

appearshowingyourpercentageofkills. Foryourfailure,youwillreceive1

demerit. Ifyoureceive3demeritsinanyone Campaign, youwillbe stripped ofyourpilot'swingsand grounded.
