Rio 2016 team is pleased to announce that the Triathlon Test Event is

scheduled for August 1

, 2015. This event organised by Rio 2016 is part

of the Rio 2016 Test Events Program and is a great opportunity for Nations

to test the Field of Play and get the atmosphere of the Games.

1.3 ENTRIES & ACCREDITATION

The Aquece Rio Triathlon Olympic Qualifier & Paratriathlon Event is an invitational competition. All entries process will be managed by the International Triathlon Union (ITU).

1.4 MEDICAL SERVICES

Medical services will be provided at the venue from the start of official training to the end of competition.

DESIGNATED HOSPITAL

There will be a designated hospital for this event which will be prepared to receive any patient necessary and with which Rio 2016 has an agreement.

2 | Logistical Aspects

2.1 ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation costs are under the NF’s financial responsibility. Rio 2016 has appointed the below official hotel for NF delegations:

2.2 CATERING

TEAMS

Teams are responsible for their own catering. Refreshments (water, cereal bars, fruit) will be offered by Rio 2016 in the venue.

2.3 TRANSPORT

To assist the participating NFs in the transport arrangements, Rio 2016 has appointed Alatur as the official Rio 2016 Test Events Agency.

All National Federations taking part in this event can book their transportation (airport transfers and local transportation) through this agency.

Please note that the costs of transport are the financial responsibility of the National Federations. Location of the hotel(s) proposed by the agency will be decided upon transport operations optimization and preferably, at walking distance from the venue.

2.4 VISA PROCESS

Rio 2016 has developed a thorough Visa Programme that will also cover those participating in all Test Events.

For all the participants that are nationals from countries who need a visa to enter Brazil (please check the page 27 of the guide on AqueceRio Website), Rio 2016 will provide introduction letters that must be submitted with the visa application at the chosen Brazilian Consulate/Embassy abroad. To request a visa Invitation Letter, please send an email to [email protected] with a list of the applicants, including their full names (as in their passports), passport numbers, date of birth, country and city where the visa will be made.

Prior to making arrangements for your travel, we recommend you check the Rio 2016 Visa and Work Permit Guide attached. In this document you will find information on which type of Visa you will need to bear. You will also be able to find instructions on how to apply for your visa.

It is also important to remind that the time frame for issuing a Visa to Brazil will depend on the country where the participant is applying. Please check the website of the chosen Brazilian Consulate or Embassy for further information on turnaround times.
