“i decided to enrol in the csu Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) program to back up my work experience with a relevant qualification. Working and being the mother of two pre-schoolers, i found the flexibility of csu’s distance education coursework Master program was ideal for me. the coursework was interesting and motivating and, as the program progressed, so did the use of technology, providing great advantages for distance education students. enrolling in the MHRM was a vital step in my lifelong learning path and one which has helped me enormously in building credibility in my chosen field, while simultaneously gaining valuable practical experience.”

“the benefit and flexibility of studying by distance education allowed me to work to my own schedule. i was able to balance work, family, study and still go on holidays. in 2007, i managed to study and holiday by sailing a catamaran through the Whitsunday’s.

“the Master in Human Resource Management at csu added depth and breadth to my work as a senior manager in HRM and subsequently opened up opportunities to move into an academic career.

“i chose to study at csu because of its emphasis on flexibility and the breadth of study that the Masters program offered. one of the most challenging aspects of part-time study is trying to balance work, study and home commitments and i found that the csu program was a great help – through well-designed learning materials, great support from lecturers on and offline and the opportunity to network with peers through the online forums.

“the content and assessments in the program gave me a chance to apply theory in my own workplace and to reflect on my practice. the assessments helped to broaden my thinking and to learn to think more critically about what was often accepted uncritically as ‘good practice’ in HRM. i made some great friendships while studying and this was possible even within an online learning environment.

“some executive programs provide half the value at more than twice the cost. From a value for money standpoint, csu’s Master in HRM stands out. it is this and much more!”
