map sheet identifier Y

5 MAXE(Maximum

Easting) Number 25,5

A Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) rectangular coordinate recorded in meters. The origin of

each UTM zone is the central meridian. The value given to the central meridian is a false easting of

500,000.

N

6 MAXN(Maximum

Northing) Number 25,5

A UTM rectangular coordinate recorded in meters. The origin of each UTM zone is the equator. The value given to the equator is a false

northing of 10,000,000.

N

7 MINE(Minimum

A UTM rectangular coordinate recorded in meters. The origin of each UTM zone is the equator. The value given to the equator is a false

northing of 10,000,000.

N

9 MAPPROJ Variable Character 1

The default projection for a map. This is normally “A” (Australia Map

Grid) or left “G” (to imply GEOGRAPHICAL).

12 IRREGBDY Variable Character 1

Signifies whether a given map is

metric ('Y') or imperial ('N') N

13 MAPCODE Variable Character 7

All mapsheets of one series (1:10 000 and 1:250 000) have a unique

code across the system. e.g. NOONKANBAH 1:250 000 has

a MapCode of NOON JANDAKOT 1:10 000 has a MapCode of JAN. N 14 MAP_NUM Variable Character 12

Is the unique reference assigned to maps in DOLA and is made up of alphanumerics and punctuation (e.g.

BG34/09.39 and SH 50 01).

Attribute Values

Attribute Name: MAPID

This field stores an abbreviated description of a map sheet identifier (refer diagram following).

A unique map sheet identifier is created when this field is used with the MAPSERIES field. There are a range of different map sheet formats. The first character of the MAPID indicates the format of the remainder of the field.
