WELCOME TO VIDYARD

The explosion of online video has created both great challenges and terrific opportunities for marketers. If you're creating marketing videos, chances are you're also looking for a way to measure their impact on revenue. Vidyard is ready to help you transform viewers into customers by helping you make the most of your video assets.

What is Vidyard?

Vidyard’s Video Marketing Platform gives marketers the ability to host their video content while providing deep video analytics and built-in marketing tools.

Beyond tracking your video’s total number of views, Vidyard reveals who’s watching your content, and for how long with detailed viewer analytics and engagement data. We give you all the details you need to enable your sales team with more qualified leads.

With Vidyard, you can embed a video in your website with a branded player, view real time attention span data, share videos to social networks (including full YouTube channel

management), create calls to action, split-test your splash screens, and pump all of your data directly into your marketing automation contact records.

We deliver an outstanding video marketing platform that allows you to see exactly how viewers interact with your content so that you can amplify, modify, and improve your video marketing based on measurable criteria.

What is a Player? Chapter? Video?

Understanding the differences between a player, chapter and video will help you navigate the Vidyard platform.

Players

Before a video can be hosted on the Vidyard platform, a player must be created. Each player is a stand-alone container for storing and playing video content. Think of your player as a shell or enclosure that contains videos, which are stored as chapters.

This is an example of a Vidyard Player. Shown are the media controls (play/pause button, time slider, volume, HD toggle and full screen toggle), as well as an embed button to allow visitors

(5)

to embed your video elsewhere and a share button to share the player on social networks. A player can have multiple chapters contained within it.

In this scenario, Player 1 has one chapter. Player 2 has four chapters.

The player can be embedded on a webpage or shared via social media. Each player has embed code that is unique to that player. The embed code allows you to insert the player into your website.

You can create a new player by logging into the Vidyard dashboard and clicking the New Player button.

Videos can be added to a player in four different ways: 1) Upload a video from your computer

2) Add a previously uploaded video 3) Choose a video from YouTube

Chapters

A chapter is a segment of a player. A single player can have one or more chapters, and additional chapters can be added to a player at any time without having to re-embed the player in your website.

A player will play all of its chapters in sequence. When editing a player, you can add or remove chapters, or change the order in which the chapters are played.

(6)

Videos

A video is the source video content that you wish to share online to your potential clients and community. Vidyard allows you to upload your own videos, or add a YouTube video to your players. They are stored inside the player as chapters, ready to be played.

Videos that have previously been uploaded to Vidyard can also be added to multiple players.

How Are Video Views Tracked?

In order to provide granular, user-based analytics Vidyard uses a browser technology (localStorage or browser cookies depending upon how new the browser is) to track content viewers.

The first time a viewer loads a Vidyard Player, we assign them a generated ID. This ID is then sent with each analytics update to our servers in order to track the individual viewers who have watched your content. Browsers allow us to save this generated ID so that future viewing sessions from this viewer can be associated to the same generated ID. On the backend, these generated IDs are used by Vidyard to associate a user's viewing data with user metadata such as email address or location when analytics data is reported.

You can use the Analytics Center to filter analytics by email address or location and get a list of individual level attention spans (or heat maps) spanning multiple viewing sessions by a user on a single video. These generated IDs also allow us to report on 'unique views' by showing the number of distinct generated IDs (unique viewers) that have watched part of a given player as opposed to the total number of viewing sessions for a given player.

Browser and Mobile Compatibility

Vidyard supports a variety of browsers across multiple platforms for both the Vidyard Dashboard and the Vidyard Player. When troubleshooting browser related issues, it may be necessary to confirm a supported browser is in use.

Vidyard Dashboard browser support • IE 7+

Note: Current – 1 or Current denotes that Vidyard supports the current stable version of the browser and the version preceding it. For example, if the current version of a browser is 24.x, versions 24.x and 23.x are supported.

(7)

Player desktop browser support • IE 7+

• Chrome (Current, Current - 1.0) • Safari (Current)

• Firefox (Current, Current - 1.0) • Opera (Current, Current - 1.0) Player mobile browser support*

*Assuming only major browsers on these platforms. All other mobile browsers are currently untested.

Embedding Your Player

Once your video has been uploaded to Vidyard and added to a player, you're ready to embed it on your website. Vidyard provides a variety of different ways to share your video with your audience.

Inline embed

The inline player will be displayed directly on the site and can be viewed while browsing the rest of the page. It should be used to supplement the rest of the page. The inline embed code is available as both a JavaScript embed or an iframe embed.

(21)

Lightbox em bed

The lightbox embed code creates a lightbox player in the center of the screen and dims the background. You should use it when you want to highlight your player and make it the focus of the page.

Note: For data tracking within marketing automation platforms, you must use the JavaScript inline or lightbox embed code.

Sharing page

A sharing page is a page hosted by Vidyard that contains your player and optionally allows viewers to comment on your video. The sharing page is useful for sharing to social media sites or to provide a direct link to your content without having to embed the player.

To obtain the embed code for your player, complete the following steps: 1) From your dashboard, select the player you want to embed.

2) Click the Embed button.

(22)

4) Use the Copy to Clipboard button to copy the code or URL.

Share Your Video to Social Networks

Embedding your Vidyard Player on a website is not your only option for sharing your video content. Sharing your players in social media allows you to immediately reach your contacts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+.

You can push a player to your social networks directly from the Vidyard dashboard: 1) Log into the Vidyard dashboard at http://www.vidyard.com/login.

2) Use the search bar to locate the player you’d like to share. 3) Click on the player.

4) Click on the Social Networks button.

(23)

Modifying Chapters

Using the M odify Chapters button, you can change your players by adding or removing video chapters without having to re-embed the players on your website. Videos can be swapped by adding a new version of a video to a previously embedded player and removing the old version.

Once you’ve created a player to place your video in, you can add more video content, change the order of the videos within it and remove videos you don’t want shown. Once you distribute it across your marketing campaigns or your website, you can still edit the chapters as you desire and the changes are automatically applied across all of your embed locations.

There’s no limit to the number of chapters a player can contain, so when publishing videos regularly, use the Modify Chapters section to quickly add new chapters to an existing player.

To modify the chapters in your player, complete the following steps: 1) Log into your Vidyard account.

(24)

3) When editing the player, click M odify Chapters.

Change the videos in your player

(25)

Tagging Videos and Players

Tagging your videos allows you to organize your videos by content. Consider tagging your videos in situations where you have a large number of videos uploaded to Vidyard and need a way to organize or categorize them. Including relevant tags with your content also helps improve your SEO when adding your video to a sitemap or pushing videos to YouTube. To tag a video, complete the following steps:

On occasion, it may become necessary to remove videos from your Vidyard account. By removing unnecessary videos from your library, you can ensure that only your most recent and relevant content can be added to your Vidyard Players.

Note: Completing the steps below will permanently remove a video from your Vidyard account. Deleted videos cannot be recovered and you will be required to upload them again to add them to add them to a player.

To remove a video from your Vidyard account, complete the following steps: 1) In the Vidyard dashboard, click the New Player button.

(30)

Change the Splash Screen

Before your video is watched by anyone, it exists as a thumbnail image or splash screen on your website. Convincing your site visitors to play the video rests heavily on the graphic you’ve chosen to represent your video asset.

Vidyard will select 10 images for you to choose from for your thumbnail splash screen, or you can upload your own.

Choosing a splash screen

To choose a splash screen, complete the following steps:

1) From the main dashboard screen, scroll to the My Players section. 2) Edit the player you wish to configure.

3) Click the Splash Screens button.

(31)

Upload a custom splash screen

To upload a custom image for the splash screen, complete the following steps: 1) From the splash screen configuration screen, click the Choose File button.

2) Drag your thumbnail to the window or click the Choose File button and select your file. 3) Once you select the file, you will be returned to the Edit Player screen.

4) Click the Settings button.

5) Scroll down to the Advanced Options section, and clear the "Play button on splash screen" checkbox.

A/B Splash Screen Split Testing

The best way to determine which splash screen image is going to generate the highest click through rate is A/B split testing.

With A/B split testing for your video splash screens, you can choose up to 8 different thumbnail images for your website, determine how often each one is shown, and automatically choose a winner.

Setting up your splash screens

To edit and select your splash screens, complete the following steps: 1) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to configure. 2) Click the Splash Screens button.

(32)

You’ll now have three steps to complete in order to complete setting up your splash screens:

Step 1: Configuring the splash screens.

Step 2: Configure your split test.

Step 3: Choose a winner.

Step 1: Configuring the splash screens

Vidyard will scan your video and randomly select 10 different screens for you to choose from, or you can select an image that you would like to test.

In this example, three images have been selected. You can optionally upload your own splash screens.

To select a splash screen, click the white square. A green square with a checkmark denotes a splash screen that is active in your split test.

(33)

image from your desktop or a FTP server.

Step 2: Configure your split test

To configure your split test, you will need to determine how often you would like each splash screen to appear. Use the slider bar to adjust the frequency of each splash screen.

Click the M ake Display Frequencies Even button to make each splash screen appear an equal amount of times.

Step 3: Choose a winner

Vidyard analytics will show you a set of bars with data on how well each image did. You’ll know when you’ve had enough data to confidently make your selection when you see Significant in the results field.

(34)

In the results above we can see the range that each image got as a clickthrough as a percentage.

Once you’ve completed your A/B test, you can remove the other splash screens that didn’t fare as well.

(35)

SECURING YOUR PLAYERS

Email Gating

With Vidyard’s email gating feature, you can turn unknown viewers into known leads by

collecting a viewer’s email address upfront, before they see the content. An email gate can be turned on for any video player including multi-chaptered players and video hubs.

You can customize the behavior of the email gate in the player settings in the following ways: • Enabled – Viewers must enter an email address before the content is played.

• Disabled – Viewers will not be asked for any details before the content is played. This is the default setting.

• Optional – Viewers are asked for an email address; however, they can decline to provide one by clicking a link to skip the process.

• New Contact – Viewers are required to enter an email address, but will not be prompted again once they have provided their email address.

This is an example of an optional email gate that will appear for everyone trying to watch the video. Viewers can click the link to ‘Skip entering your email’ to see the content without providing an email address

When a visitor fills in an email gate, Vidyard will record their profile in the Analytics Center in the Email Filter option. This allows you to export the email addresses of anyone who has

watched your content, and break it down by the individual video for a specific campaign. Once Vidyard knows their email address, their browser cache (cookies) is tagged so all future views can be associated with their individual profile.

With CRM and MAP integrations, Vidyard will work with the individual level tracking of viewers that these systems have on your website and will only populate the email gate if they are an ‘unknown’ contact in your database. Vidyard will also create a lead in your system if the email address was not previously associated with an existing contact or lead profile. Vidyard coordinates with your system’s database and will begin to push individual level viewing data into the contact profiles.

(36)

1) Log into Vidyard.

2) Scroll down to the M y Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to modify. 4) Click the Settings button.

5) Under Advanced Options, configure the option to Require email to watch video.

Access Codes

Access Codes ensure that your content is only playable/viewable to individuals with the exact code required to initiate playback. With access codes, you can:

• Limit access to internal videos.

• Keep in-flight content private for review by a small audience.

• Allow only paid subscribers or fans access to limited edition content.

Access codes can be configured to expire after a period of time and you can limit the number of times an access code is used.

You can also allow users to request an access code. Each request will be submitted by email, which can be approved or denied.

To view the access code security settings, complete the following steps: 1) Log into your Vidyard account.

2) Scroll to the My Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to edit. 4) Click the Security button.

(37)

5) Scroll to the Access Code Player Protection section. Create an access code

To create an access code:

1) Click the Create an access code link.

2) Choose an access code and enter it in the text field.

3) Optionally choose an expiry date or leave blank for a code that never expires. 4) Optionally enter the maximum number of uses.

5) Click the Save button.

Allow users to request an access code To allow users to request an access code:

1) Select the Allow users without an access code to request viewing access checkbox. 2) Select a moderator. The moderator can be any user within the Vidyard organization. 3) Optionally select a display name for incoming access code request emails.

4) Optionally choose to automatically accept access code requests from specific domains.

5) Set the number of times a generated access code can be used. 6) Click the Save Access Request Manager button.

(38)

Scheduled Release

There may be instances where you are ready to deploy a player, but are not ready to allow viewing of the content. To accommodate this, Vidyard allows you to schedule the release of a player. Scheduled players can be embedded on your website and will not display the video content until the specified date and time.

Consider using scheduled players for:

• Weekly webinars - Embed a live chat platform on a landing page and drive traffic to a weekly on-demand training session.

• Special content - Drive subscriptions or build hype by scheduling delivery at some point in the future.

• Time content - Schedule your video delivery to coincide with your blog, website or YouTube channel.

Visitors attempting to access your video content ahead of schedule will be shown a countdown to when the content will be available:

(39)

1) Log into your Vidyard account. 2) Scroll to the My Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to edit. 4) Click the Security button.

5) Scroll to the Scheduled Videos section.

6) Select a date and time for your player to be released. 7) Click the Update Settings button.

Domain Restriction

Using Domain Restriction, you can prevent others from embedding your player on a domain other than the one you allow.

With Domain Restriction, you can limit specific types of content such as:

• Internal videos (training, corporate outreach, thought leadership pieces, etc.) • Videos behind pay walls

• Videos behind subscription walls • Private content

To configure domain restrictions, complete the following steps: 1) Log into your Vidyard account.

2) Scroll to the My Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to edit. 4) Click the Security button.

5) In the Domain Restriction section, enter a domain to restrict embedding of the player to.

Note: www.example.com and example.com will automatically be matched. References to http:// and https:// will also be matched. To include all subdomains, use *.example.com.

6) Optionally disable the player's sharing page. This prevents those with access to your Vidyard account from sending your sharing page to unauthorized viewers.

IP Whitelist

Using whitelisted IP ranges, you can prevent visitors outside of the specified IP blocks from watching your Vidyard players.

This can help you:

• Restrict viewership to internal audiences. • Ban users from viewing your content.

• Incrementally control the release of content to specific blocks of viewers.

Whitelists can be applied at both the organizational level (affecting all players) and the player level (affecting each individual player). This article describes how to configure both types of IP whitelists.

Organizational-level IP whitelist

To configure an organizational IP whitelist, complete the following steps: 1) Click Advanced.

2) Click Default Player Options.

(41)

4) Enter a specific IP address or specify a block of IP addresses using CIDR notation. (e.g. 127.0.0.1/24)

5) Click Add.

6) Optionally, add additional IP addresses or IP ranges. Player-level IP whitelist

To enable a whitelisted IP range for a player, complete the following steps:

1) From the My Players section, click Edit to choose the player you wish to change. 2) Click the Security button.

3) Scroll to the Whitelisted IP Ranges list

4) Enter a specific IP address or specify a block of IP addresses using CIDR notation. (e.g. 127.0.0.1/24)

5) Click Add.

(42)

7) Optionally, opt the current player out of the organizational-level whitelist. This will result in only the player-level IP blocks being applied.

CALLS TO ACTION

Turning a regular video into powerful content and a lead generation tool is easy with Vidyard. One of the most popular ways to do this is by adding a Call-to-Action (CTA) to your video. CTAs come in two forms:

1) Popout CTAs that slide out beside the video while it is playing. 2) A Final CTA that is displayed when the video is complete. You have control of what is displayed in a CTA. You can include:

• Lead generation forms • Links to related content

• Content with information related to the video such as descriptions or images This allows you to keep viewers moving forward through your content on a path that you control. It also stops them from straying off the path, which can happen if they are allowed to click out of your content or be lead away by ads or related videos that aren’t yours.

Create a Popout CTA

A popout CTA allows you to display supplemental content at a configurable point in your video. To create a popout CTA, complete the following steps:

1) Log into Vidyard.

2) Scroll to the My Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add a CTA to. 4) Navigate to the video you would like to add the CTA to.

5) In the Advanced menu, click Popout CTA.

(44)

7) Configure the popout CTA: • Start time and duration. • Width of the CTA.

• Check if CTA should close at end of video.

8) Populate the CTA with your content using the CTA Builder or using your own code using the Source button.

Create a Final CTA

A final CTA will can be displayed at the end of your player. The final CTA can display

additional content to the viewer, redirect them to another location, loop the player or show the splash screen again.

To create a final CTA, complete the following steps: 1) Log into the Vidyard dashboard

2) Scroll to the My Players section.

3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add the CTA to.

4) In the Final Call to Action section, you can choose the action you would like to take when a video is complete:

• Show Call to Action • Loop Playback • Show Splashscreen

(45)

Redirect to another page: This option will redirect the user to another page. Enter the URL to redirect to and select if the page should be redirected or opened inside the player.

Create your own Call to Action: By creating your own call to action, you can display contact information, link to additional content or even embed a form from your favorite Marketing Automation Platform (MAP).

Using the CTA Builder

The Vidyard CTA Builder provides a quick and easy way to populate your popout and final CTAs with little to no development experience. You can use the builder to drag and drop elements into your CTA including text labels, forms and social media sharing buttons.

You can access the CTA Builder when using either the popout or final CTA editors. Once open, the CTA Builder allows you to drag and drop various elements to create your own CTA.

(46)

• Use the Big Text and Normal Text elements to create custom labels for contact information or other details.

• Use the Button element to create a hyperlink to a URL.

• Use the Form feature to add custom fields and a submit button. Data from submitted forms will be emailed to the account owner.

• Use the Social Media sharing button to configure a URL to be shared on various social networks.

Embed MAP Forms

Many Marketing Automation Platforms (MAPs) and CRMs allow you to create forms that can be embedded outside of MAP hosted pages. These forms can be embedded in Vidyard CTAs allowing you to provide a form to viewers while they are watching or when they complete a video. This allows you to generate leads when they are at peak interest and most likely to convert.

To add a MAP or CRM form to a Vidyard CTA: 1) Copy the form code from your MAP or CRM.

2) When adding content to your CTA select Source mode. 3) Paste the form code into the CTA window.

4) If you wish, you can further format the form styling or add additional elements to the CTA.

Video Hubs

Now that you have players stocked with amazing videos, you’re ready to play them for your potential customers and show them the value of your business. What you need is a great way to display those videos and make sure they have a simple way to view the rest of your video library. You need Vidyard’s Video Hub.

Video hub is the best way to share your Vidyard videos without the risk of your viewers being distracted by videos or ads from other companies. Visitors to your video hub are provided with a branded page to view your Vidyard Player with the option to comment and browse the rest of your video library.

Vidyard allows you to create a video hub with no development background. The process can be broken down into three parts:

1) Create and configure a new video hub 2) Choose the available players

3) Customize the look of your video hub

Create and configure a new video hub

A video hub can be created in the Vidyard dashboard by completing the following steps: 1) Log into the Vidyard dashboard at http://www.vidyard.com/login

7) Configure the additional options:

Enable search box: Determine if the search bar is visible on your video hub

Show related videos: Determines if your other players are displayed on the video hub. Allow comments: Adds a Disqus thread to each of your players

Allow downloads: Choose if visitors can download your videos to their local machines Enable embedding: Adds an embed button allowing visitors to embed your players on their site.

Player Management: Choose whether all players in the Vidyard account will be available in the hub or if players will be selected on the player tab.

8) Configure Social Feeds

You’ve now successfully created your first video hub. Once your video hub has been created, you’ll need to choose what Vidyard Players are going to be included.

(49)

Choose the available players

Click on the Players tab to choose what videos are visible in your hub.

Note: In order to choose players for your hub, the Player Management setting must be set to "Select Specific Players" on the Settings tab.

2) Give a name to the category.

3) Select how players will be added to the category. There are two options:

a. Choose specific players - Gives you the option to choose which players are assigned to the category.

b. Automatically assign by tags - All players with a specified tag will be added to the category automatically.

(50)

4) Select the players that are assigned to your categories by clicking the Edit Players or Edit Tags button.

Choosing a featured player:

Some video hub themes support selecting a featured player. Depending on the theme, this player will usually receive a prominent location on the hub landing page.

Choose a featured player by hovering over the players added to your hub.

At this point, you have now created and populated a Vidyard Video Hub. You can send the address out in your marketing material and watch the views roll in.

If you would prefer to customize the look of your video hub, you can do so with the help of the next section.

(51)

Customize the look of your Video Hub

The look of your Vidyard Video Hub can be branded to your preference through the use of a customizable logo and some HTML and CSS know-how.

To begin customizing the look of your video hub, click the Design tab.

1) Choose the page layouts for your hub by clicking on the page type.

Front Page: The page that is first displayed when someone visits your video hub. Search Result: The page displayed when a visitor performs a search.

W atch Player: The page displayed when a visitor selects a video to watch.

2) Upload a logo by clicking the Upload Logo button.

3) Edit the appearance using HTML and CSS by clicking the Launch Editor button. You can use the video hub editor to modify the header and footer of your video hub page. You can also use CSS to override any of the style classes that exist on the page. When using the editor, changes to your video hub are previewed in real-time. These changes are not permanent until you click the Save button.

(52)

Once you’ve saved your changes, you’re ready to begin sharing your customized video hub with the world.

(53)

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the utilization of various methods to promote and improve a web site and its contents with the purpose of increasing the number of visitors that come from search engines.

To ensure multimedia content, such as videos, are properly indexed, a XML sitemap can be created. This allows search engines to learn about your content and include it in their search results.

Sitemaps can be created manually and hosted on your website, however, Vidyard provides a method to create them automatically.

Configure Your Sitemap

Before you can add videos to a sitemap, you need to configure your robots.txt file to point search agents to your sitemap. If you do not have a robots.txt file, you can create one. You can learn more about robots.txt at the following location:

http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html To set up a video sitemap in Vidyard:

1) Click the Advanced menu.

2) Scroll down to the Video Sitemap for Video SEO section.

3) Enter the URL of your website where your robots.txt file resides. This is typically located in the root directory of your website.

(54)

4) Add the provided line to your robots.txt file.

5) Once you have added this line to the robots.txt file, click the Verify button.

Add a Player to Your Sitemap

Adding videos to a sitemap allows search engines to index your multimedia content and adds contextual information, such as the title, length and description, of your video library that can generate search results pointing to your website.

To add Vidyard players to your sitemap, complete the following steps:

1) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add to your sitemap. 2) Click the Add to Video Sitemap button.

(55)

ANALYTICS CENTER

What is the Analytics Center?

When measuring the effectiveness of your video assets, the Vidyard Analytics Center provides you with data about all of your Vidyard players in one location allowing you to view detailed reporting.

Accessing the Analytics Center

1) Log into your Vidyard account at http://www.vidyard.com/login. 2) At the top of the screen, click Analytics.

This section will describe some of the data you can find in the Analytics Center, and how you can use that data to make decisions about your video marketing campaign.

Header

The header provides you with key metrics at-a-glance about all of your Vidyard players. You can quickly see the following information:

• Number of views

• Number of unique views • Minutes watched

• Most popular viewing region

You can use the information in the header to provide a quick, high-level overview of how well your video assets are performing to groups outside of your marketing department. The numbers look great in presentations and the most popular region shows you if you are hitting your key geographic market.

Export to CSV

You can export your viewership data to a CSV file for viewing outside of the Analytics Center. Data can be exported using any of the filters available and is presented as a list of values inside the CSV.

Using Filters

The Vidyard Analytics Center allows you to filter the data you are viewing based on a number of criteria. You can use the filter to include results based on the following criteria:

(56)

Player: View data for a particular player. If the player has multiple chapters, view data is cumulated for all chapters within the player.

Chapter: View data for a particular chapter within a player. At least one player must be selected before a chapter can be selected.

Data Type: Choose whether data is reported for all views or unique views only.

Embed Location: If a player is embedded in multiple

locations, you can view data for a particular location allowing you to track the effectiveness of one location over another.

Geography: Track viewership data from a particular country to observe how your content is doing around the world.

Emails: Select one or more email addresses to observe viewership data specific to those users. This data can be used to track the engagement of the recipients of a targeted marketing campaign.

Date Range: Select the date range over which the reporting should cover. You can use this filter to compare your data month to month or view all data within the last year. Careful tracking of your data over time will help you determine when it’s time to refresh your content.

General Data

The general data section displays more detailed month-to-month metrics about your

viewership. The Visitors graph, by default, will show the number of views for all of your players.

You can use the data presented in the views graph to trend your views over the month to see drop-off rates for your videos, or how effective a marketing campaign is at driving views of your videos. Did you recently share a player on social media? You can use this graph to track your influence by determining how many of your friends and followers view your content.

(57)

The Show Views by Player checkbox at the top-right of the graph will break out the graph by player allowing you to see each player in a consolidated view.

Click the name of the player in the graph to remove it from the consolidated view.

The Your Viewers section provides you with the following details: • Current viewers

• Today’s clickthrough rate • All Time clickthrough Rate

The Current Viewers count is updated in real-time and can be used to live monitor your viewership. You may want to watch this number to see the immediate impact after sharing a video over social media, or after a press release.

(58)

The clickthrough rate is calculated based on the number of times the video is viewed divided by the number of times it has been presented to a visitor. Your clickthrough rate is one of the metrics you can use to determine if visitors to your site are viewing your video content. Your clickthrough rate can be affected by a number of factors, including:

• Thumbnail displayed

• Position of the video on the page • Size of your video

If you are seeing a lower than expected clickthrough rate, consider adjusting these factors. For example, you can use Vidyard’s thumbnail split testing feature to trial various thumbnails on your player to determine which one leads to the most views.

Device Breakdown

The device breakdown graph adds onto your existing website metrics by providing you with details about what browsers are used to watch your video content. Understanding the devices and browsers used to typically view your content can influence decisions about where your content is placed, and what it contains. For example, if many of your visitors are primarily on mobile devices, you can adapt your content to suit with large, bold text and less detail to accommodate for small screens.

Use the Show Device Version checkbox in the upper-right corner of the graph to redraw the graph with the browser versions displayed.

(59)

Engagement Data

Engagement data helps you track how much or how little of your videos your viewers are watching. Using heat maps, you can see how much of your video was watched, re-watched or skipped.

With this data, you can determine which parts of your video holds your audiences’ attention, and which parts they find less engaging.

The combined viewers data shows what percentage of your viewers watch your video up to a particular point.

A graph showing a high percentage of users watching until the end (such as the above graph) suggests that your content is more engaging than a video where the majority of viewers drop off early (such as the graph below).

(60)

Demographics

Demographic data provides you with metrics pertaining to the embed locations of your videos and the geography of your viewers.

You can use the embed location metrics to determine what locations generate the most views for your videos. Locations in this view will include videos shared on social media and your sharing pages. With this data, you can make decisions about where you embed your videos and correlate the data with your website analytics to determine if page views are equating to video views.

The Global Views map shows your volume of views by geographic region. Examining the geographic distribution of your viewers allows you to see if you are reaching your target audience, but can also allow you to see if viewers in other regions are viewing your content giving you an opportunity to reach out to other regions with your other marketing assets.

YouTube Integration

It's nearly impossible to talk about online video without mentioning YouTube. With the world's largest search provider backing it, any video marketing strategy should include a discussion of how YouTube can be used.

That said, driving traffic to a YouTube channel also drives visitors to distractions like ads or related content that may not belong to you. This can make it difficult to keep visitors on your site.

You can already add YouTube videos to a Vidyard player, but how about hosting your content on Vidyard and pushing to YouTube?

Vidyard allows you to host your online videos so you can take advantage of rich analytics and a customizable player, while also allowing you to push your videos straight to your YouTube channel so you can maintain a presence on YouTube as well.

Videos pushed to YouTube will sync their titles, descriptions and tags allowing you to make use of YouTube's SEO features without having to do any extra work.

Configure the YouTube Integration

Before you can push your Vidyard videos to YouTube, you will need to integrate your Vidyard and YouTube accounts. You must have a YouTube channel created before you can connect it to Vidyard.

1) Log into your Vidyard account. 2) Click Account.

3) Click Integrations.

(63)

5) If prompted, sign into your Google account.

6) You will be prompted to grant Vidyard access to your YouTube account. Click Accept.

7) A confirmation will be displayed when the accounts are successfully linked.

(64)

Using Vidyard to Manage Your YouTube Account

Once you have successfully connected your Vidyard and YouTube accounts, you can perform one of two operations:

1) Push a Vidyard video to YouTube

2) Link a Vidyard video to an existing YouTube video

You can then sync contextual information such as the title, description and tags associated with that video. This lets you upload your videos to Vidyard while also taking advantage of the SEO benefits that YouTube provides.

To manage a video on YouTube, complete the following steps:

1) From the My Players section of the dashboard, edit a player containing videos you wish to push.

2) Scroll to the video you wish to push.

3) Click Edit/Details next to the video you wish to push.

4) In the top-right corner, click the YouTube button OR scroll to the YouTube section of the page and click the YouTube button.

(65)

Push a Video to YouTube

Complete the following steps if your video does not already exist on YouTube. If your video already exists in your YouTube channel, consider linking it to the existing video to avoid duplication.

1) At the prompt, select which YouTube account you wish to push to if applicable. 2) Select a privacy setting.

3) Schedule the push to occur now or later. 4) Click the Push this video to YouTube button.

5) A message will be displayed as the video is pushed to YouTube.

Once the video has been pushed successfully, a message will be displayed indicating that the push was successful.

Link a Vidyard Video to a YouTube Video

By linking a Vidyard video to an existing YouTube video you can sync the metadata (title, description, tags, etc.) of the video to your YouTube video without losing the number of views your YouTube video has already received.

(66)

2) A search of your YouTube channel is done based on the video information. If no results are found, click the Try another search button.

(67)
(68)

5) Click Link to the selected video at the bottom of the search results

After your Vidyard video has been pushed or linked to YouTube, you can use the Options drop down to view the video on YouTube or if necessary, sync the title, description and thumbnail to YouTube.

(69)

Asset Manager

As your video library continues to expand, it can become necessary to making changes to multiple players at the same time. With the Vidyard asset manager, you can perform bulk actions on your videos and players at the same time. Actions you can perform include:

• Enable/disable player options (autoplay, default HD, play button, sharing page, whitelist embed domain, etc.)

• Resize players

• Delete players/videos

• Push players/videos to YouTube

Accessing the Asset Manager

You can open the asset manager from the Vidyard dashboard by clicking on Advanced, then Asset Manager. If you do not see the option, please contact your Vidyard account manager.

Selecting Players or Videos

1) From the asset manager, you can choose to perform bulk actions on either videos or players within your Vidyard account. Click Players or Videos to choose which items you will be modifying.

(70)

2) Use the search or filter functions to narrow your view down to the videos you are looking for. Results can be sorted based on Name, Number of Views, and dates created or updated.

3) Select a player or video by clicking on its name. The item will become green to denoting it has been selected. Alternatively, use the selection buttons to choose all visible items or all items in the organization. The blue button will deselect the current selection.

(71)

Performing Bulk Actions

Once the appropriate players have been selected, you can perform the following actions: Click the Settings tab to adjust the player settings for the selected players.

Click the YouTube tab to push the players/videos to YouTube. You can configure their accessibility (public, unlisted or private) and schedule when they will be pushed.

(72)

Use the Tags tab to tag your players and videos.

(73)

ADVANCED TOPICS

Brand Watermarks

Placing a watermark on an image or video is a common practice when it comes to branding your assets. A subtle watermark in the corner reminds the viewer where the content comes from and can serve as a link to your homepage, or to more content.

Vidyard allows you to add your own custom watermark to all of your players.

Note: Remember that your brand watermark will appear on every player. To keep your players loading as quickly as possible, try to keep your image to under 100KB.

To add a watermark to your players, complete the following steps: 1) At the top of the screen, click Advanced.

2) Click Brand W atermarks.

3) Select a file from your computer and click Open.

4) Select the corner of the player in which you would like the watermark to appear.

(74)

6) Optionally, provide a URL to hyperlink when the watermark is clicked. 7) Click Save. You can now preview the changes.

8) To delete a watermark, click the Delete button.

Uploader Widgets

The Vidyard Uploader Widget is a way to upload videos without being logged into a Vidyard account. With the snippet of code provided, you can embed an ‘upload’ button on your website to collect videos from those without access to your Vidyard account. You can invite guests to upload videos from their computer, a FTP site, or they can record and upload a video instantly with a webcam.

Consider using uploader widgets for collecting crowd-sourced video content on your website. With a dedicated landing page, you can include the uploader widget to create a means for users to upload their personal video projects.

This also allows others to upload outsourced video content while maintaining restricted or secure access to your Vidyard account. For example, if you have outsourced a video and want to give an external vendor the ability to upload a video to your Vidyard account, you can build a landing page and have them upload the content with the uploader widget. This would not require you to give an external user your password or access to your other, internal or secure videos.

Building and embedding an uploader widget

To set up the uploader widget, perform the following actions: 1) In the top-right corner, click Advanced.

2) Click Uploader W idgets.

3) To change an existing widget, click Edit. If no widgets exist, click the New Widget button.

4) In the text fields, specify the height and width of the uploader button, and enter the text you want to appear on the button. A preview of the uloader button appears to the right.

(75)

5) Select from the checkboxes provided what actions the user can perform (i.e. uploading multiple files, changing the video name, etc.)

6) Optionally enter a webhook URL*

7) Copy the Popout or iFrame code to embed on your desired landing page.

*You may enter a webhook URL if you would like to have our server do a POST request to the specified URL when the video is finished encoding.

Note: When building the uploader widget, you can specify which sources you will allow users to upload video from (i.e. Gmail, Dropbox, GitHub, Skydrive, etc.)

(76)

Dashboard API

The Vidyard Dashboard API gives you the ability to manage assets in your Vidyard account; this includes Players, Videos & Tags and metadata related to those assets. This is very

valuable for people building integration into Vidyard from other services, or trying to manage a large volume of content programmatically. The API supports basic Create, Read, Update and Destroy (CRUD) actions.

Requirements

The Vidyard API is available for all active Vidyard accounts. You will need an API key to authenticate with the API and run requests.

API keys are created for each role that is available in your Vidyard organization. Each role's key will only allow the actions permitted for that role.

e.g. If you have a role that is not allowed to view billing information, an application utilizing the key for that role will be unable to view billing information as well.

To find your API key, complete the following steps: 1) Log into your Vidyard account.

2) Click Account. 3) Click Integrations.

Note: Only Admin accounts have the ability to view all API keys. Other roles will can only see their own API key.

The API uses JSON to format requests and responses. You will need to include the following items in all API requests:

Header: “Content-Type” | Value: “application/json”

Parameter: “auth_token” | Value: API Key found in the Advanced Menu of the Vidyard

Dashboard. This parameter can be passed as a query-string parameter in GET requests, and as a parameter in the body of any POST or PUT.

Details of the Dashboard API, and available endpoints are available at http://api.vidyard.com/docs/dashboard.
