technology, our Postrgraduate Masters programmes are built around state-of-the-art technology.

Reading, an exciting learning environment

Opened in 2009, the £25 million business school is one of the newest and most visually impressive buildings on our campus. It includes a 250-seat conference-standard lecture theatre, seminar rooms equipped with the latest technology, dedicated research space, a popular café and visitor area and the Academic Resource Centre (ARC).

The International Capital Market Association centre (ICMA), home to our Masters programmes in finance, houses three state-of-the-art dealing rooms, with more than 100 terminals equipped by Thomson Reuters. We were the first business school in Europe to introduce dealing rooms and remain the only university with a facility on such a scale. The centre offers two further conference-standard lecture theatres, high-quality seminar rooms, meeting areas and two café bars for students and visitors.

Reading’s main library – your essential resource

Our main library at the centre of campus, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment, houses over a million volumes. You will find silent study areas, group study rooms, PC suites and a popular café for when you need a well deserved break.

Outstanding IT facilities

Across campus you will enjoy 24-hour access to PC facilities and wireless internet use. Key Facts

What it gives you

You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the international business environment, in terms of the competitive and investment climate, which is largely determined by the policies and regulations established by governments and supranational institutions. You will utilise frameworks and methodologies to make sense of the interaction between firms’ strategies, economic policies and the changing international environment. These global strategies are constantly in flux as these environments rapidly evolve in a globalising world.

Who is this programme for?

This programme is particularly suitable for graduates with a degree in business or economics, but we also welcome applications from recent university graduates from a wide range of disciplines.

Professional development

Graduates interested in ICMA, CISI and CFC certificates and qualifications should go to www.henley.ac.uk for further information.

Programme Content

About the programme

This programme focuses on the external (macro environmental) issues affecting an organisation. This differentiates it from our MSc International Management programme, which focuses heavily on internal (micro environmental) factors. During the programme you will analyse the strategic choices multinational firms make to compete in a global economy, whilst examining the effect of their actions from both a ‘developing’ and ‘developed’ country perspective.

What it gives you

You will acquire a holistic view of the international business environment, and how policies and regulations established by governments and supranational institutions affect industries and firms in terms of their competitiveness. You will be able to connect the ‘micro’ firm view with the ‘macro’ view of countries and regions. You will utilise frameworks and methodologies to make sense of the interaction between firms’ strategies, economic and development policies, and the changing global environment in a rapidly globalising world. You will not only gain an understanding of how firms are organised internally, but you will also systematically analyse how foreign markets and countries function.

Who is this programme for?
