Public Engagement and Media Attention

Op-ed: I wrote ‘How Habits Shape Belief’ for New Scientist (2014).

Documentaries: I have presented my research on ‘Growing Children’, BBC (2012), ‘Inside My Mind’, BBC (2013) and a short film for Aeon (2016). My work was featured in another BBC documentary this year called ‘OCD – a monster in my mind’ (2015).

Outreach: I am a co-founder of a public science festival, Pint of Science, which first took place in Cambridge in 2013. I helped bring the festival to NYC for the first time in 2014, giving a talk for the public and recording a podcast that aired in January, 2015. I also communicate research output directly to patients, giving talks at support groups: Cam-Mind, Cambridge UK and the Manhattan Adult ADHD Support Group.

Other: In 2014, I was profiled on a list of the 30 Top Thinkers under 30 in Pacific Standard magazine, and nominated for the Forbes30 under 30 in Science. My research has been featured in many other news media outlets, including Scientific American.
