SEDQ (SOCIEDAD ESPAÑOLA DE DESARROLLOS QUÍMICOS, S.L.) is a Spanish capital company belonging to the group IBERCLOR, S.A. Focuses its effort on an experimented R & D department whose aim is the constant improvement of the pheromones and attractants and also their application in the field and the design of new intelligent solutions.

SEDQ has two headquarters with different activities:

Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona): Research laboratory of synthesis and formulation of pheromones and attractants.

Monzón (Huesca): Pilot and industrial plant for the synthesis of pheromones and preparation of formulates and laboratory of control and research for other companies of the group. SEDQ has collaborated in different projects related with the study of pheromones and their application, with different companies and organizations.

SEDQ is member of the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) which includes industries that produce micro-organisms, macro-micro-organisms, semiochemicals (pheromones) and natural products for plant and public health protection.

SEDQ is open to consider any possibility of new collaborations with other companies and government agencies to develop the application of insect pheromones and attractants.

SERVIcES

For agriculture, forestry and gardening:

• Synthesis of pheromones and attractants.

• Formulation of monitoring, mass trapping and mating disruption products for their application in the field.

For companies and official organizations:

• Research, development and implementation of new processes to synthesize pheromone components.

• Design and research of new dispensers.

DISpEnSERS

A formulate is a pheromone or an attractant dispenser of several types. There are various sorts of formulates according to their corresponding use and application in the field:

Monitoring: Detects the presence of the insect and indicates the level of infestation and evaluate the most suitable treatment and time of application.

Mass trapping: The objective is to capture the highest number of insects in a trap to reduce or eliminate

other phytosanitary treatments.

“Attract and kill”: Similar to the previous technique, but without the collection of insects in the trap.

Mating disruption: Consists on the deployment of a high number of pheromone dispensers in the field

creating an atmosphere which impedes the encounter between both sexes.
