Oakland Community College Application for Admission – Instructions
1.
OCC does not accept online applications from high school students.
Oakland ACE applicants must use the hardcopy OCC application
(below).
2.
Disregard the process shown on page 1 of the OCC Application, as
well as the High School Guest/Duel Enrollment instructions on page
2.
3.
On top of the OCC Application’s Page 4, select “Dual Enrollment.”
4.
Complete “Personal Information” on Page 4. Leave “Social Security
Number” blank.
5.
Under “Important Admissions Information” on Page 4, complete all.
For “Academic Program Code you plan to pursue,” enter “HSD”. For
file location, choose the campus closest to you. On the last line,
choose “Part-time.”
6.
Complete all of page 5.
7.
Have the high school principal or designee complete page 6. There is
no need to list courses. They should check “Yes,” and sign.
8.
DO NOT submit the application to OCC. OCC applications for
Oakland ACE applicants must be submitted through Oakland ACE.
Send the completed OCC application, and a signed OCC
Authorization to Release Information form (last page below) to:

Applicants will receive a welcome letter from OCC that includes a
student ID number. This letter is not acceptance to the ACE program.
It means the applicant is set to take the COMPASS placement test.

There is not an application deadline for summer sessions. Application deadlines do not apply
to college guest applications or applications for high school guest/dual enrollment students.
Acceptance of applications for a semester will resume after the drop/add period has ended
for students intending to register for a late-starting class.
ADMISSION/REGISTRATION PROCESS
Complete the Application for Admission. Include all
requested documentation.
High School Guest/Dual Enrollment – submit High
School Guest/Dual Enrollment Approval Form.
F-1’s (see p. 2).
Proof of Residency (see p. 2).
Submit completed application to the campus of
your choice.
Take any required assessments for placement purposes
(see p. 3).
Schedule an appointment with a counselor for advising.
Create an OCC email account (see p. 2).
Register early for classes.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSIONS
General Admissions Application Information:
Admission to OCC is open to all students who are high school graduates,
GED recipients, college transfer students, or persons over the age of 18.
1. Please type or print in blue or black ink.
2. Complete these application sections: Personal Information; Important Admissions Information; Educational History.
(provide a copy of one of these: Driver’s License; State ID; Voter’s Registration Card; Current Property Tax
• Permanent residents must also present their resident alien card
or
passport in addition to the residency proof.
• Non-immigrants must show a current property tax receipt verifying themselves, or, if a dependent student, his/her parent
as a property owner to establish in-district or out-of-district rates.

High School Guests are those students who are currently enrolled in high school and whose high school class has
not graduated. High School Guests must also submit the
High School Guest/Dual Enrollment Approval Form
with required signatures from high school personnel.
1. Complete entire application PLUS High School Guest/ Dual Enrollment Section.
2. Have additional information completed by the High School Principal or Designee (see p. 6).
3. Mail the entire application to Oakland Community College, without tearing off the application form (see campus mailing addresses listed above).
