This document aims to guide the configuration of IDP780 connecting to i-MXT for simulation of problem reported by the customer.
The information contained in this document is confidential and property of MXT INDUSTRIAL LTDA (MXT). Required items:
IDP780 – firmware version 002 i-MXT P6 LITE DEFAULT R20 Maxtrack Setup software IDPService (APK)
IDPClient (APK) GSMobile (APK)

Configuring the IDP780
First install the software MaxtrackSetup(v71), this software allows you to configure the IDP. The problem is that this software is in Portuguese, and at the moment we don’t have an English version, but I will try to detail the configuring process.
NOTE: password to uncompress the MaxtrackSetup(v71) file: maxtrack

To connect to the IDP, you will select the IDP illustration, select the COM port and the baud rate (9600).
Click ‘Ler ID’ (means read ID) then ‘Ler Setup’ (means read Setup). If the device is communicating properly, the software MaxtrackSetup will read these information with no problem, and you can also check the firmware version (Versão FW).

If the IDP is with another version, you must install 002 version, using MaxtrackSetup:
NOTE: During the new firmware version installing, the device ignition must be disconnected (off), else the firmware won’t be correctly installed.
The firmware file is mtc780.ldr, it is in fmw folder inside the compact file downloaded. Loading the firmware:
Arquivos (means files) > Enviar arquivos (means Send files) > Select the firmware file from the directory where it is > Enviar (means Send) > wait for firmware loading and press Sair (means Exit).
NOTE: After load the firmware, you must read ID and Setup once again, and check the firmware version again.
Configuring WiFi
Selecting the option WiFi in the menu, you will open the following window:
Confidencial Página 5 WIFI SSID: Identification of the WIFI network (Maximum 32 characters in ASCII).
PSK WIFI: For security WIFI ADHOC network must necessarily be
configured the WEP network connection. The password must be configured with 10 characters in Hex.
SEGURANÇA WIFI (WIFI SECURITY): WEP.
CANAL DA WIFI (CHANNEL OF WIFI): Any channel, the ideal is that the wireless network is a channel where there are no other networks to avoid interferences between different
networks.
TIPO DE ACESSO(TYPE OF ACCESS):Create an ADHOC network (Criar uma rede adhoc). IP/PORTA (IP / Port): Configure IP / port for connection: IP: 10.xxx to 192.168.xx - Port: 1 to 65535
MÁSCARA DE REDE (NETWORK MASK): Sets up the mask which will be used. POTÊNCIA DO SINAL (POWER SIGNAL): It is recommended to configure the power to "ALTA" (HIGH).
ON / OFF WIFI: TCP/RS232.

Configuring WIFI network to connect IMXT in the network created by
IDP780
First, install the APK’s in the i-MXT. There are three APK’s: 1. IDPService.apk
2. IDPClient.apk 3. GSMobile.apk
Note: Installing the GSMobile and the IDPClient in the same device at the same time generates several crashing in the device.
The IDPClient and the GSMobile do the same thing: communicate with the IDP780, but the IDPClient was developed by MXT Holding, and the GSMobile was developed by the customer.
First you will establish the communication between the IDP and the i-MXT using the IDPClient.
In the i-MXT go to:
Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Push ‘menu’ bottom > Advanced > Check the option ‘Use static IP’ >
IP address: 10.xxx to 192.168.xx (NOTE: The IP address must be different from what was configured in IDP780);
GATEWAY: 10.xxx to 192.168.xx (NOTE: The IP address should be the same as what was configured in IDP780);
NETMASK: Sets up what is the mask used; DNS 1: 8.8.8.8.

After configuring the network in IMXT, you must connect to WIFI network created by IDP780. Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Search for the network created by IDP780 and enter the password WIFI
NOTE: The password is the same that was configured in IDP780 Connect to the network.
NOTE: The connection with the IDP network will only be possible if the configuration in i-MXT and IDP matches, and the IDPService must be installed on it.
With connection established, open the APP IDPClient:
Press ‘menu’ bottom > settings > set IP and Port (Should be the same configured in the IDP). You can check if the connection is OK by pressing the option ‘is connected’ in menu.

Going forward you can send messages to IDP with this platform and also receive messages from it. When you send a message, you receive a feedback in ‘list sent messages’ with the confirmation or not confirmation about the message reception, just like following image.
Confidencial Página 9 So this is what the IDPClient does: receives and sends messages between the i-MXT and the IDP, and also the confirmation of message delivery.
GSMobile Aplication
As noted previously, the GSMobile and IDPClient applications do the same, but the GSMobile was developed by the customer, with another interface between the user and the device.
Before install this application, uninstall IDPClient, because both applications may conflict and cause serious crashes in equipment.
After install GSMobile and open it, you will see:
IP – IP para comunicação com IDP780 / IP for communication with IDP780
Porta – Porta para comunicação com IDP780 / Port for communication with IDP780
Log do Aplicativo – Ativar log do aplicativo / Activate application log (to use this option, you must create a folder in the SD Card named ‘gsmobile’).
Right below this menu, there is ‘Acesso restrito’ menu (restrict access) wich you need passwords to access.
Enviar Mensagem – Enviar mensagem de teste / Send message – send test message. Password: 12345
Navegar – teste de navegação / Navigate – navigation test. Password: 12345 Configurações – Settings (Normal Android settings). Password: syn$sysset
Gerenciador de arquivos – File manager (Acces ES Explorador). Password: syn$fileex Sair – Exit (close the aplication). Password: syn$close

Going forward, you can confirm these settings in the respective option icon near battery status icon. Then you see another page with:
KM inicial, Base, Telefone that you can set any value just as a test.
Then check ‘>’ option to go ahead and there will be the field ‘Eletricista’ (means electrician, it’s about the customer context). Pressing ‘?’ option you will set ‘Matrícula’ (registration number) and pressing the magnifier icon you can choose any name, may be the first one. After this, you can press ‘menu’ bottom and press ‘iniciar turno’ (means start) to start the application operation.
